This was our very first Cirque de Soleil show in Las Vegas. We were looking for an entertaining show at a budget price and Mystere fit the bill. We purchased two tickets on the Cirque de Soleil website and were able to save 30$ off of the regular prices; we sat in Section 2 which was a bit further back. Regular price was $110 plus a $10 agency fee for a total of $120; I was able to get the seat tickets for only $80 a piece plus the agency fee for $90 each. These seats allowed us to see the acrobats high up above the stage without craning our necks as well as a good view of the overall stage.
The line up to get in was long, but once the doors opened the line moved pretty quickly. Make sure you get in early to your seat; latecomers may fall victim to a clown that pretends to take you to your seat, but he makes you follow him all over the auditorium and puts you in the wrong seats, tears up your tickets and other hijinks.
The show has a number of different acts and there are few minor acts going on between the main acts to help 'bridge' along the show. There is a large adult baby act which was pretty funny as well as a 'clown' type character; both of these acts relied heavily on audience participation so if you're the shy type you should definitely avoid sitting in the first section as these actors were go into the audience looking for willing participants. Some people got popcorn thrown on them by the clown and other people were brought on stage to help in the act; overall they were very funny and the humor wasn't at the expense of the audience member.
The other acts involved amazing feats of strength, agility and courage. We were amazed at the large variety of different stunts/acts. This is definitely a family-friendly show and I wouldn't hesitate to bring children to see it. After seeing this show, we are excited to try other Cirque de Soleil shows to see what else they offer.
