The Silk Road restaurant inside of the Vdara has been closed since my last stay there. I wondered why it was never open when I last visited; there was always a sign that said "Closed for meeting or conference or some such thing. The only place to get food at the Vdara is at the Market Cafe, which is like a deli/grocery store with a few chairs and tables. Therefore, there is no proper dine-in restaurant on the property. They said that demand was too light. You have to go to one of the restaurants in the City Center/shopping area or neighboring casinos. I will still highly recommend Vdara and will stay there again. But this is just a warning to those who would like a full service restaurant in their hotel. Of course, room service/in room dining is still offered. You will have to leave the property to find a sit down restaurant, but there are very good restaurants within the City Center complex and at neighboring Aria, Bellagio and Cosmopolitan.

Room Tip: When making reservations, ask for as high a room as possible with a view or partial view of the Bell...

Las Vegas is 24/7. After being in the casinos and enjoying the shows it was nice to relax in a smoke free, non-gaming hotel. We had a cornor suite on a high floor. The view was spectacular. It is very easy to access the strip and all the other hotels. The Bellagio and Aria were steps away. The staff was helpful and friendly. The spa was also very relaxing and enjoyable.

Room Tip: choose a room on the high floors over looking the Bellagio fountains

My last two stays were at Aria and Palazzo, thought I would give Vdara a try, loved it. Loved that it was non gaming and non smoking. It as a quieter hotel with easy access to Aria and Bellagio. The rooms were very nice, I wouldn't hessitate to stay there again

I read the other reviews and thought most were accurate except I had a great experience. I stayed on the 12th floor. There was no noise. The shades are electronic, so if you don't figure out how to use the wall control you probably don't realize that you can make the room completely dark. It's the 21st century in this hotel.
I stayed in a one bedroom, so the hotel room was very spacious with a kitchen, and a clothes washing machine and dryer. There is an easy connetion to the bellagio and a tram to the crystal mall. It takes a couple minutes to walk to the center of the strip.
I picked this place since it has no casino so it's safer and cleaner and less noisy. Aria is a minute away and so is the bellagio for gambling. The two best casino's I have been to in Las Vegas.
The restaraunts in Aria, Bellagio and the crystal mall are amazing. Cheaper eats on the strip are convienent enough and go grocery shopping and fill the fridge to save money so you can gamble more!!!!
Personally, I hope this place stays an unknown gem so that the prices don't go up, but it's actually the best place I have stayed my three times in Las Vegas ;)

Room Tip: I stayed in a corner room over looking the Aria and pool. I thought it was great. There is a view of...

Avoiding smoking and gambling in Vegas is not easy but here is a hotel that delivers both and a lot more besides. A couple of years old this is an all suite hotel that has very high standards and comfort in all areas. For business this is a terrific hotel; it is well located behind the Bellagio, has a Business Service office with friendly and efficient staff, the rooms are spacious and all have wifi and a desk area and there is a smallish but pleasant cafe that serves up a great breakfast. The bar area is popular and whilst there are no restaurants as such the Aria is next door and has plenty of choice. If doing business in a good environment is your aim then you will struggle to find better in Vegas.

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear have a great view across the plains that surround Vegas. Go for a higher floor...

The Vdara was awesome. We had a two year old with us and having the kitchenette and free crib was great. And of course being in a non-gaming and non-smoking hotel was perfect for the family in Las Vegas. I think they designed it to be chic and modern, but it turned out to be very family friendly. It's a short walk through the Bellagio to the strip, but we didn't mind being a bit isolated from the hustle and bustle. Otherwise, it is located very central relative to the strip. Rooms are beautifully modern and clean. The bathroom is definitely better than most, with a big soaker tub, although I'm surprised it only had a single sink given the space. Bed was very comfortable like in most boutique hotels. Nice to have the pool open all year, although I can imagine the pool would be way too small during the summertime. We tried Cafe Vettro and the buffet at the Aria and both were very good to excellent. The cafe in the lobby was also pretty good and reasonable. Staff were very friendly and eager to help in general. We got a great deal through Westjet Vacations.

Room Tip: Kitchen is not stocked with plates and cutlery, but can be requested for free. Go to concierge to a...

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Vdara during the first week in Jan 2012. It was a very nice, upscale, clean hotel, with great views, very nice room, and a nice pool. However, upon checking in we discovered to our surprise that the "free complimentary valet parking" was the only parking available in Vdara's parking garage. Self-parking was available at the nearby Aria Hotel's parking garage, but required either a burdensome trip on a shuttle or else a walk through the Aria's heavy smoke-filled casino area to get to Vdara. Had I known that there was no self parking available at Vdara, I would have stayed elsewhere, as I do not like valet parking. This ruined what could have been a very pleasant stay at the hotel.

The in-room safe was also not very deep, which did not allow very good storage of valuables like laptop computers.
