It always amazes me to see how many ways large companies can come up with, to fleece the public. Here's a new one for me: Vdara advertises "free internet" but the connection is so slow as to be unusable for pretty much anything but email. The killer is that they, on the same login screen, offer to SELL to you a 5mbps connection of $7.95/day. Now what was it that the $30 daily resort fee supposed to be for? Another fleecing. (For those technically oriented I did a speed check on the free internet wifi and found it to be 0.25mbps. Yes, you read that right. That's as slow as a 1995 dial-up connection.)
The hotel is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The room furnishings are first rate and there's plenty of space. There's a desk, a large-ish amoire with flat-screen TV and a large clothes closet. The bathroom had a dimmer (imagine!) on the light switch, first time I've seen one in a hotel. The window shades are electrically controlled. There's a kitchenette, with a couple of strange anomalies: 1) There are no dishes, utensils, or cooking implements although there is a cook-top and microwave. 2) The refrigerator is one of those touch-it-and-we-bill-you fiascoes so of no practical use.
The hotel location is at City Center which is just off the strip, but there's a walk-through to Bellagio and a tram to some other locations. Security was very good, it seemed, with a visible room key required at all times, to enter the elevator area.
Oh, and one more thing: The toilet became clogged and the "be right up" service man was actually sent right up and arrived at the door after about two minutes - not the usual half-hour wait.
Would I stay there again? It wouldn't be my first choice, but it'd easily be a good choice if my first choice was booked.
