“Fantastic location with a great view and staff will do anything to please their guests”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

We stayed 5 nights here over the new year eve celebration in Las Vegas. The front desk accomodated our request and gave us a room on the 24th floor with an amazing view to the Bellagio fountains and the Strip.

Our room was huge, king size bed, big sitting area and a computer desk and a small dining set. It also had a small kitchenette equipped with a microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom is very large, with separate large shower and soaking tub.

The room is super clean. Always has plenty of clean towels. If we ever needed anything, staff will bring to us ASAP. The hotel is super quiet. We just love that we never have to walk through smoky casino to get to our room. The location is also centralized, right in the middle of the strip with access to the tram that runs to Monte Carlo and Aria. It is also connected to the Bellagio by a walk bridge,

The concierge helped with rental car and golf outings, any questions we had they were able to help.

We will definitely come back to stay again.

Room Tip: Some rooms higher up have view to the strip and Bellagio fountains.

This hotel is perfect for those looking for a Vegas hotel that gives you the best of all worlds. It is clean, it is quiet, it is smoke free. It does not have a casino on site but this is not really a negative since the Aria casino floor is just 2 minutes from the front door. This hotel also has a walkway (covered) that connects it to the Bellagio. The only negative here is that the Bellagio is massive and you're still quite far from the casino floor. The positive though is this means you have covered access from Vdara, to Bellagio, and thus almost completely to Caesar's if you prefer to venture on foot like we do.

Pros:
Great value. Quiet, comfortable, non-smoking, convenient to other properties. Rooms are huge and if you're staying for an extended time you will enjoy that the fridge does have some space available for your belongings. There is also a stove top and microwave. Any interaction I had with the staff was very pleasant and definitely positive overall.

Cons:
Nothing really. If I had to choose something to gripe about it would be the lighting controls in the bedroom area. The problem here is that there really aren't any. We basically had to decide when it was time to go to bed then shut the shades and turn off the lights (from the kitchen). Our available lighting was from the bedside reading lights (very small).

Room Tip: Lake view and request Belaggio view. We ended up on the 23rd floor and thought this was just fine...

This place is a great value, sumptuous, great service! We were on our way to Death Valley and had a corner suite on a high floor for less than $200 during high season of Christmas vacation. There was a washer and dryer in a closet in the kitchen; no extra charge to use.The bathroom was beautiful with separate jetted tub and walk in shower. There was a great view and excellent service. The room had never been smoked in and since there was no casino or slots it was quiet in the halls. It is a short walk to Bellagio and six other restaurants. Perfect!

Very disappointing. 4 of us paid around $500 for a suite. The pullout bed was EXTREMELY painful and uncomfortable. We had to ask for linens for it. We also had to ask for enough coffee and cups for the 4 of us. There was 1 washcloth. We've had these reservations for over 6 months and were told we'd have a view of the fountains. We were put on the 16th floor and could only see the top of the very high sprays. We are locals and teachers. This was not cheap for us. Again, VERY disappointing.....

We spent a couple nights at this hotel last winter. Beautiful rooms Beautiful hotel centrally located on the strip. I dont recall ever sleeping in a nicer bed. Our room was on an upper floor with a view of the Bellagio fountains so also very cool. We also liked the lack of a casino as it results in a quiet smoke free enviornment within walking distance of any and all action you wight want. A quiet respite from the strip hustle.

Having recently been married, I had my bucks adventure in Las Vegas (of course!). We chose Vdara because it looked modern, clean and had great views. When we arrived it was all that we had expected.

The MGM owned hotel is located in the new part of Vegas (called “Paradise”) just off the strip, next to hotels Aria and Cosmopolitan. It is a short walk to all of the action and quite conveniently located in the middle. Strangely it is one of the few hotels that does not have a casino, which gives it a more relaxing boutique vibe and allows you to escape the excitement once you’ve played out all your hands.

The room we chose was one of the two bedroom penthouse apartments as something a little bit special for this occasion. The view (see pictures) was spectacular overlooking the Bellagio fountain and most of the north half of the strip. The modern room was in great condition with a very comfortable bed and had all of the toiletries and amenities you’d expect. One thing about the room which was slightly annoying since we had paid a little bit extra for a nicer room was the low water pressure. I’m not sure if it is due to a water saving initiative (being in the desert) or the fact it was higher up the building so I can’t be sure if this was a problem. You might just need to consider this if you like good water pressure for your shower.

The hotel staff were polite and helpful and as you’d expect displayed exceptional customer service standards. The housekeeping was good and kept the place clean and tidy. However, my one main complaint was the way the housekeeping service handled our room with “Do Not Disturb”. Being from overseas we had to adjust to the time difference (and probably a couple of late nights drinking). When I select to not be disturbed I’d expect just that… however not at Vdara, the housekeeping service will call you if you’ve requested to not be disturbed and they are outside your door wanting to perform their service?! And if you’re the first room on their list it means they will call you at that time. I found this very annoying especially if you didn’t answer the phone, they would leave a message and to retrieve the message was a hassle. Which was my second complaint, the message service is unnecessary complicated. You have to be put through to the main MGM hotels voicemail service where you have to go through an operator and a few questions then put through to the actual message. I don’t understand why they don’t automate this process as it seemed an incredibly inefficient use of staff resources (and my time).

The hotel has a bar and a café/fresh food shop downstairs, but no formal restaurant. You can walk next door to Aria, which is part of the MGM chain and charge meals to your room as they have a little bit more variety. The gym was equipped with a good range of equipment. The hotel pool is good, although closes early, which is apparently not unusual for Vegas hotels, which I can’t therefore blame them for. It just seemed strange that for somewhere which gets very hot that they would close while it was still daylight. Perhaps it has something to do with serving alcohol? I didn’t experience the death ray I had heard about (you can look that up).

Overall I did enjoy my stay at this hotel. Would I stay here again? I probably would if I return to Vegas, but perhaps with my wife rather than with a bunch of guys who go out at all hours, drink and gamble, so I can let housekeeping in without disturbing me!

Room Tip: The higher floor levels offer better views!

Green Features: The shower water pressure was a water saving initiative, but I was not a fan. That's just my personal preference, I like good pressure. Otherwise everything else was fine.

My wife & I just enjoyed a four night stay at the Vdara. The hotel was perfect for us. We like the lack of a casino and we would rather get a larger room but walk a little further to the strip. The views are great, the panoramic corner suite was really nicely decorated, the car valet service was fast, as was the check-in and check-out. The only downside was the housekeeping. The first room we checked into was not clean. There were a variety of spots on the desk, doors, fridge and even a couple of stickers left by the previous guests on a doorway.
