“A quiet place in Vegas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

If you're looking for a place to escape the chaos of Vegas- this is it. No casino in the hotel, therefore no smoke and noise. The rooms are exceptionally nice! Very modern and spacious. My room was your basic Vdara room but exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable king bed, sofa, kitchenette, big soaker tub, and a wall of windows. The amenities were a little lacking- housekeeping was fine, no coffee in room, refrigerator wasn't really cold although they did provide two small bottles of water per day. I didn't go to the fitness club. The pool was nice but small. Unfortunately it closed at 6pm (typical of Vegas pools). A very nice hotel for the price (cheaper than neighboring hotels).
If you are going to a conference at Bellagio- stay here instead. Rooms are cheaper and there's a short walkway from Vdara directly into the Bellagio conference center- very convenient!

We chose to stay at this suites hotel as it had no casino and boy was it a good choice. It is a great place to stay, spotlessly clean, beds changed every day. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly and can't do enough for you. We had a suite on the 26th floor overlooking the Belagio Hotel and had a good view of the fountains at night when they were set off to music. We took a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, a Pink Jeep Tour to Red Rock Canyon and saw Rod Stewart at the Colloseum - terrific show Rod!! The blinds are operated by a switch on the wall - very impressed. There is plenty of space to sit and relax and a large bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. As mentioned previously ask the taxi driver to take the shortest route otherwise they take you the longer one costing about 10 dollars more!

Room Tip: Ask for a suite facing the Belagio Hotel and the higher up the better for the views, especially at n...

I was fortunate to have my room upgraded from a lake view (which I'd read was great) to a one bedroom penthouse. Entering the room, housekeeping had drawn the window shade, so it was only with the "reveal" and lifting the shade did I actually gasp. The view from this room is unobstructed and spectacular. Nice view of the Bellagio show and the noise from the show wasn't even noticeable.

The room was nicely kitted out with big TVs in the living room and bedroom, comfie sofa and chairs, and I slept great in the bed, which was very firm.

The bathroom was immense with everything in working order and fluffy towels. It was like personal in room spa.

I feel like this review is pretty generic, but it's hard to capture what a nice experience the Vdara is.

The non-smoking, non-gaming was a welcome respite. Even though it was a big Mayweather fight weekend, the hallways and bar didn't get rowdy. I definitely plan on staying at Vdara again.

Room Tip: Our room was just out of reach of The Cosmopolitan, which looms next door.

Recently stayed at Vdara April 17-22,2014. Had a very good stay. Cab ride was uneventful and costed about $18. Make sure you tell the drive to take swenson to harmon and not the tunnel or the cab fare will be alot more. Asked in advance for a view facing bellagio fountains. Request was not honored and we had a view of city center. Room was still very nice and clean nonetheless. The room is made like a suite so you are able to cook and heat up food in your room. The food offered at Vdara is very pricey. You also have a refrigerator. There is a whole whole lot of walking in vegas but Vdara is connected to Bellagio which has a free tram to the nearby hotels, Aria and Monte Carlo. This tram was very beneficial. Be mindful of the resort fees you have to pay at checkout. Also check out tix4tonight for cheap show tickets as well as casa di amore. They offer a freee limousine to their restaurant and the food is very tasty. We plan on visiting Vdara or Bellagio if we visit Vegas again.

As I've given this hotel a trip advisor rating of just 2, I think a decent explanation is needed, especially as most other reviews score the hotel very highly...which helped persuade me to book it in the first place.
The hotel is modern, plush and in a good location on the strip. Try to get a higher floor for a better view of the city. Rooms are nice but there are issues.
1. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. You must request these from housekeeping.
2. There are no robes or slippers in the room. You must request these from housekeeping.
Maybe it's me being picky but I don't expect to have to do that in a 5* hotel.
3.Cleaning of the room started out really well but dipped from day 3 onwards. Bins not emptied, shower gel not replenished etc. 3 of the cleaners I saw on the landing did not have a bottle of shower gel between them. On 1 occasion we left the room at 8.45am and returned at 5pm to chill out and get ready before going out for the evening. The room had still not been serviced. Not good enough for a 5* hotel. The cleaner arrived shortly after our return but I just took clean
towels.
4. The pool area is located on the 3rd floor. It is small as is the pool itself and you need to be friendly with your fellow guests because sunbeds are packed in like sardines. During our 6 night
stay the pool was closed 4 times:
Firstly, at 4pm for a 'private party'. I kid you not, every paying hotel guest was asked to leave because someone had booked the pool area for themselves.
Second, because of a security alert. I was surprised at the chaotic way this was being handled with no clear direction or plan. I later found out that the security alert was in fact a bee hive somewhere in the area which they wanted to exterminate. No one had noticed a single bee and I am sure they could have waited until 6pm when the pool area closes to have dealt with it if they felt it a serious problem.
The pool was closed twice more because of 'high winds'. I could not believe it. The wind moved a few sunbeds around and was much lighter than anything you will experience in the Canary, Greek or Balaeric Islands.
They do have arrangements with the neighbouring Aria resort to use their pool as closing the pool area at the Vdara is a regular event by all accounts. You may only use the Aria when the Vdara close the pool. The Aria pool area is much much better. Larger and nicely landscaped.
On Friday and Saturday the Vdara pool area becomes very congested and a DJ arrived to play very loud club music all day. Not really what we had in mind even in a party town like LV.
To sum up. If the pool area and a bit of relaxation in the sun is important to you during your holiday then I strongly advise against this hotel. You may as well spend just a small amount more and go to The Aria itself or up the strip to the Bellagio.

Dear LittleBigHorn,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. On behalf of the hotel I would like to apologize your stay at Vdara did not meet your expectations. I can assure you that the issues you experienced with housekeeping during your stay are not in line with the Vdara standard, and I sincerely apologize if our pool closures inconvenienced you during your stay. When we close our pool for wind we are truly trying to make sure our guests are as safe as possible. A member of our guest relations’ team will be reaching out to further discuss your issues. Once again I apologize and hope you will give Vdara a second chance in the future.

Best Regards,

The Vdara is a great property. My wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The corner suite was more than we could have asked for. It had a great view of the 'strip' and all the amenities such as a large bathroom, kitchen, large screen TVs, and a very comfortable bed. The always smiling staff was there to answer all questions and help without even being asked to. We will definitely be going back to the Vdara in future visits to Vegas.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room above the 30th floor with a view of the 'strip'. You'll love...

I often have to travel to Las Vegas for work, so sometimes I like to stay some where without all the glitz and glam. I found this to be the perfect hotel if you're looking for a spot in Vegas that is smoke free and doesn't offer gambling. I found this place to be very refreshing. The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms have a huge bath tubs, and they offer a full kitchen. It doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of restaurants, but you are in walking distance to the Bellagio, Aria, and the Cosmopolitan. You don't have to walk outside to access the Bellagio. I think it's perfect location for someone who looking for a peaceful stay, but also has easy access to the Las Vegas lime life.

Room Tip: I recommend a room on a high floor with a view of the Bellagio.
