“Gem in the Strip”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Great hotel with great views. I had the strip view (some others mentioned mountain/pool view) around 30th floor (mid range). Very clean rooms, modern bathroom with soaking tub and shower. The bathroom needs better ventilation. Very modern, large suite style room with small kitchen with microwave, electric burners, a mini refrigerator (which barely cools).
Odd thing if you need to warm/cook you need to ask the hotel to provide you cooking pans/utensils.
Pool is fine . Gym is modern, pleasant, good quality new equipment but small for a hotel with such size. Oh by the way, need to pay $1 for an apple/banana at the exit of the Gym where many hotels offer complementary fruit.

The most bothersome is Vdara follows the stylistic(!) tradition of other Strip hotels that started few years ago an annoying and cheap way to add $28/day "resort fee" which mentions for Wifi and Phone usage, Gym all of which is free in even in basic hotels. Vdara, separate yourself from crowd and avoid such cheap "scams"

The hotel is smoke free and as a bonus has no casino (it is great for some but others may miss the overwhelming smoke filled casino ambiance). It is very central: just walk to Aria if you wish to go casino of night club Haze. Or walk to Bellagio, or take downstairs and walk to Cosmopolitan.

Vale parking is great if you don't mind waiting in crowded times. Although my max wait time was around 10 minutes. All other times under 5 minutes. Great service, courteous staff.

Has two TVs if you are into TV. Central island has all multimedia, power connections. Wifi was speed was OK but mostly reliable connection. Central power switch controls every light. Also one may need to read instruction manual to operate certain things. Safe box in the room is great. Blinds and Shades are power controlled and you need to pay attention to locate multiple overwriting power switches to turn on lamps. I could not turn on/off lights on the bed side without leaving the bed and walking to the power switch area and hunt for the right ones.

Very comfortable bed and pillows.

Highly recommend the hotel for families, business travel, couples. Great views, very clean, attentive and courteous hotel staff. Great contrast to other hotels in the strip. I certainly will stay here next time.

Green Features: I believe the hotel is one of the first Green certified hotel in the strip. They mention 5 Green Keys and claims to be the highest possible from the Green Key Eco-Rating. Great!

The bathroom wasn't very clean.Front desk (Robert) was very nice and very helpful.I checked in pretty late in the afternoon and as soon as I got to the room I put all my luggage and left.Came back late that night, went to the bathroom to shower, that's when I discover that the toilet and tub wasn't very clean. For a pretty pricey hotel, you would think you'll get an outstanding room(or clean atleast). But I didn't bother calling to get it clean coz I was too tired and just wanted to rest.

It was the best hotel experience. Stay in an executive suite in m48th floor. What a spectacular experience!
Great experience at front desk. This was my first hotel that has a washer and dryer in the room. This corner suite has spectacular view from all windows. I will never forget taking a bath overlooking sparkling night light of Vegas!

Room Tip: It is clean, comfortable bed, great view!

This was my first stay at the Vdara. If you have meetings to the Bellagio, it is in some cases quicker to the meeting center than actually staying at the Bellagio. If you don't want a casino in your property and want to dine about town, this is the perfect place to stay. Close to the action with a relaxing lobby bar and upscale casual atmosphere.

Room Tip: Nice room, but no double double beds, just a king and a sofa pull-out that they will put a topper on...

The Vdara is my home away from home. I live in Vegas and every now and then I like to do a staycation. The quality and size of the room feels like a beautiful cozy apartment and the fact that there's no smoking and no casino, gives it a true resort feel.

This is a smaller and quieter hotel with less walk by traffic as there is no casino or club in this hotel. it is also a little behind the strip. near the Aria hotel. It has a great rooftop pool. the lounge/bar is very nice. the hotel overall is as expected from vegas, clean, great service. good vibe. nice rooms. good decor, etc. you are walking distance from all venues. the marquis club in the cosmo is a good place to get to and is very close by. the rooms are quiet and sleep is fantastic in the beds. this is not a party hotel. its a great place to rest and stay. and party elsewhere. Im biased however, as i just adore the wynn, encore, and the palazzo.

Overall, this is a great hotel to stay in. Only down side is their check-in process. The 3pm check-in time was never met. We were checked in their system by late 4pm but was able to get to our room around 6pm. We stayed at their City Corner Suite, the room and view was well worth it. The location was ideal. Being a non-gamer and non-smoker, this is paradise.
