“Stay with kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014

We chose to stay for a 3 night stay at the Vdara because we were traveling with kids and knew it was a hotel without a casino. Excellent choice! We arrived at 6:45 am and were able to upgrade to a corner suite with kitchenette and washer/dryer for $50 more/night....AND they let us check in by 7:30 am. VERY IMPRESSED.
PROS: -Quiet, clean without smell of cigarette smoke so prevalent in other hotels.
-Couch pulled out to an uncomfortable mattress, but we were able to call housekeeping to
get a mattress top. Nice touch :)
-Happy Hour in the bar area had some of the most reasonable drink prices in Vegas from
11:00-4:00pm (Mon-Frid)/ Had vodka tonics for $5 that were excellent. The food was
delicious as well.
-Located near free TRAM that would get you to Bellagio, Monte Carlo and Crystals FAST.
-Staff were all attentive, polite and professional.

CONS: -THE POOL...it is very small and was so crowded it was difficult to enjoy. Of course, there
will always be the drunk, obnoxious people ruining your experience in Vegas, but we sat
in lounge chairs for 45 minutes w/out waitress ever stopping by to take our order. She
seemed only interested in serving the people in the $300/day cabanas. The
Vdara needs to build about 2 more pools to accommodate their guests.
-Housekeeping showed up at 4:00pm on a Saturday to clean our suite. This was after my
husband called to ask manager about delay and was told "we are very busy today". Um..
ALL the hotels in Vegas are busy on a Saturday in August. But he did comp us the resort
fee for the day as an apology.
-There is no real restaurant in the Vdara. There is a Market place for breakfast and the bar
for drinks/light eating. And there is a Starbucks for morning coffee...but no sit down dinner
option. But you are within walking distance to delicious options in Bellagio and Crystals.

Overall we were happy with this choice of hotel. It is a great option with kids as the suite was very quiet, spacious and safe.

We had a chance to return to the Vdara for a night. We were invited back by guest relations after our prior experience (reviewed after a stay New Year's Eve) was less than pleasant. Thankfully, this stay was much better! I have to mention Kristen at the front desk, because she was phenomenal. She checked us in quickly and was very friendly. The room (a corner executive suite) was beautiful and had an excellent view of the Bellagio Fountains. Also, the pull out bed was made up and included a feather bed topper. This is a MUST request item (it was not offered for our previous stay) if you will be using the extra sleeping space, as it made the bed a lot easier to sleep on. We left for dinner, and when we returned, there were bottles of water and a full ice bucket on our night stands - nice touch! The main bed and pillows were very nice and comfortable and allowed for a good night's sleep. We ordered room service for breakfast. The person who took the order and the person who delivered the meal were extremely helpful and made sure we were getting everything we asked for. Okay, so I gave the hotel a 4/5. Why not a 5? There were just a few minor things: 1) There were not any washcloths. I'm sure if we had called, they would have sent some washcloths, but we just used the extra hand towels. 2) The provided body wash in the shower was nearly empty - obviously it had not been checked/replaced after the last guest. 3) Although the person taking our breakfast order was wonderful, the food that was sent ($60 for toast, coffee, juice, yogurt), was not up to par. My main complaint here is that the toast was just bread - it was NOT toasted. Not a huge deal, but for $60.... Would we stay here again? Yes, but I would make sure to ask ahead for things that will make the stay more comfortable. Kuddos, definitely, for customer service this time around!

Room Tip: Corner Executive Suite (we stayed in 48002) had a view of the Bellagio Fountains and was very quiet.

Myself and 3 of my friends stay at this hotel for 2 nights. We were very pleased with our stay

Location:
The hotel itself doesn't have a casino or clubs (if your looking for entertainment) but on the other side you have Aria and Bellagio hotel both have amazing casino's and lounges. It took us 7 minutes to get to the strip so overall location was not bad.

Room:
The rooms were amaaaazing ! you feel like your entering into a 5 star room

Hotel:
since it doesn't have any clubs or casino's its a very family oriented hotel. The pool was very nice as well and the staff were friendly.

Overall,
I was happy with my stay and you almost feel like your in a 5 star hotel !

I just want to say this place was amazing. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, I was greeted with friendly service from the front desk. My room was not ready when I got there, and the girl at the front desk noticed that it was recently my birthday. She called her manager to see if they could provide me with a room upgrade because it was my birthday. She got that approved and we were upgraded to a one-bedroom deluxe on the 41st floor with a 270 degree view of Las Vegas. It was an unbelievable an amazing room and unbelievable service. Will absolutely recommend this property to anyone that loves luxury and convenience of being in the center if the strip.

Great option when attending a conference at Bellagio. Better priced, larger room, in a non smoking hotel and no gaming so it is quieter. I will definitely stay here from now on. Very modern decor but comfortable and I lived the mechanical shades.

Vegas has so many hotels to choose from, where to start?

What does the Vdara bring? Great decor as you would expect from Vegas. A very large sized room with a huge bathroom, as you would expect from Vegas. A long walk to the strip, as you would expect from Vegas! What i am getting at is, unfortunately, that this hotel doesn't offer anything special. If you go to Vegas, you generally are expecting to experience something brash and in your face, its part of the charm! For this hotel, you'll most be using it as a launch pad to visit other hotels, in its defence, this is in a good location for that. As such, you don't feel that you are in the heart of the action, which could be seen as a positive if you a re looking for a hideaway.

I've been fortunate enough to stay in several hotels in Vegas. You can't fault the hotel as a room, but as a Vegas hotel it doesn't hit the mark. For me, whilst decent, it won't be drawing me back in whilst the others will, unless they come in majorly cheeper!
