We arrived there as backpackers during our rtwt and had booked a standard double for 3 nights. At check in the receptionist - a young guy called Tyler - upgraded us to a Junior suite for free!!! When we arrived at our room it was simply stunning: a suite that was almost as big as our flat at home in Austria, with a a glass wall from the floor to the ceiling, a 8m2 screen with beamer, fat leather couches, whirlpool in the sleeping room, huge kitchen, etc....
Simply amazing!! Thank you so much Tyler. All the best for your career!! You know how to make people happy ;)

By the way: the hotel itself was nice, perfect lcoation in big shopping center, almost in the heart of the strip and close to the main attractions/ famous hotels.
(PS: we stayed there in November 2012)

Room Tip: Read my review -> try to get Tyler as your receptionist!!! ;)

Really enjoyed the stay. Staff were terrific. I loved being in a non-smoking, non-casino hotel in Las Vegas while still being connected to Las Vegas Blvd and all the action. The pool area was very nice but the bar experienced problems. Maybe not a big deal for all, but i was disappointed in drink quality. Music from a nearby restaurant could be heard faintly through the windows, but not enough to be disturbing. Our room was on the 9th floor which still gave a terrific view.

So we got the call you know.....the timeshare call...We couldn't pass it up because we needed a break so we booked it..WAIT....Told the sales lady could we upgrade to a 2 bedroom and we did for a few dollars more...this hotel was just beautiful....2 bedrooms separated by and awesome kitchen...1 bedroom is the studio, which was perfect for mom and then our bedroom...Loved everything about it. Loved the fact that it was close to the strip and security making sure you had a card to get upstairs.....Will be back on our own.

Room Tip: 1 bedroom suite is the BEST

Hubby and I stayed at the Elara end of March / early April 2014. Overall, I have no concerns and I would return. As others have said, the location is fantastic - connected to Miracle Mile Shops, but just a short walk from the busy-ness of the Strip.

We booked a one bedroom suite. The suite is very spacious, and includes a full kitchen (microwave, stove, full size fridge, dishwasher, cutlery, pans, dishes). The hotel refills dishwasher soap as you use it. Note though that if you're not renting a car, the most you will find for groceries will be at either Walgreen's / ABC Convenience / CVS. So you can find bacon and eggs for breakfast, but probably not a steak for dinner. For our purposes, it worked well.

For the tea drinkers out there, there is a coffee maker, but no kettle in the kitchen. I just used the smallest pot to boil water for tea.

The bedroom has a very comfortable king sized bed and a large Jacuzzi tub (big enough for two not-so-tiny people to fit comfortably). I did note that both the bed and the Jacuzzi are high to get into - I'm 5'3" so I kind of launched myself into bed. If you're shorter, you might need something to stand on. To get into the Jacuzzi, I put a towel on the ledge, straddled, then one foot in at a time.

There is a combination washer/dryer unit in the bathroom. Apparently it takes 3 hours to complete a cycle as it's 1 unit that does both washing and drying. Didn't use it so don't know how well it works.

Bathroom is spacious with separate toilet compartment, separate shower, and double vanity. Toilet usually required several flushes - no matter what you did, if you know what I mean :P

Bathroom towels were re-stocked daily, as were the toiletries. I loved the body lotion. Would have been nice to have a bathrobe, but not a deal breaker.

There's a safe in the closet near the Jacuzzi, and an ironing board in the closet in the living room.

The most impressive part of the suite was the view. We were on the 21st floor, facing Paris. We had a wonderful view of Eiffel Tower, and the Strip. Couldn't quite see the Bellagio fountains, unless after dark when we might catch parts of the show. Didn't matter though - the rest of the view was beautiful - strip to the left and straight ahead, mountains to the right. Loved the floor to ceiling windows. I don't think we ever closed the blinds in the living room, so we didn't use the movie projector.

The smaller TV near the breakfast bar has a slot that reads memory cards. That was useful for looking at our pictures. We didn't pay ($10/day) for the in-room wifi; we just used Starbucks' free wifi in the lobby. Starbucks is open 24/7. Wifi was fine, but could be slow if someone was skyping, streaming, etc.

The hotel is non-smoking, with no restaurant or casino. There is a bar in the lobby, and room service runs 24 hours on the weekend, limited hours the rest of the week. We ordered room service once and it was pretty quick.

As for the timeshare aspect, we were given some coupons when we checked in and some bonus Hilton points. The rep asked if we'd be interested in attending a timeshare presentation and receiving some show tickets. The show tickets didn't look particularly interesting, and we'd already booked a couple of shows for our trip. So I just told her I didn't think we'd have time, and that was the end of that.

The pool is outdoors, off the main lobby. We didn't visit, but looked like there were lots of sun-beds.

As others have mentioned, I liked that security scanned everyone's access cards at the entrance to the elevators.

The vehicle entrance is one floor down from the main lobby. We took a taxi to and from the airport (about $20 - pay cash: some taxis will accept credit cards, but you'll pay an extra $3 service charge). This lower level is where you get dropped off. Go in the doors, past the escalators, take the elevator up one floor. When you get to the main floor, make a right and keep going past the "Experiences" (timeshare) desks until you get to the check in area.

Check out is at 10 a.m., but we just asked the bell captain to store our luggage which was no problem. You get a claim ticket and then just retrieve on your way out. They will also call your taxi for you.

Overall, a great experience.

I've been coming to Las Vegas for almost 20 years. I've stayed in some of the best suites in the swankiest hotel/casinos, to real dives, and everything in between. The Elara Hilton Grand Vacations is the best ever, the real sweet spot of opulence, location, relative quiet, and convenience of travel within the area.

It's off the beaten path a bit, yet connected to the Miracle Miles Shops and Planet Hollywood, so the "action" is just a short (sort of) walk away. And this place has kitchenettes, which are indispensable for eating well and inexpensively during an extended stay. After all, this is basically a timeshare run as a hotel, so the rooms have a condo feature set.

Room Tip: Helps to be Hilton Honors Gold!
