“Incredible rooms but disappointed with the pool.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

We had an incredible 2 bedroom room at the Elara and just loved it's location. We have stayed at all the Hilton's on the strip and this is our new favorite. Our only disappointment was with the pool. The vacation clubs are supposed to be family oriented and we did not feel this was the case. We have 2 older teens & they were tossing a soft ball back & forth in the pool. They were told you had to be less then 10 to toss a ball as there were safety concerns. We expressed our concerns to the management especially since earlier there were adults heading a soccer ball the day before. Additionally younger kids were running & jumping in the pool as well as adults consuming alcohol. Rule seemed rather unnecessary if you want to encourage the family setting.

We stayed for 3 nights in a one bedroom suite. the hotel is well located.
We enjoyed the spacious and well decorated suite.
the kitchen was equipped with all needed for light meals.
The swimming pool was good.
The hotel is a good value for money.

We stayed in one of the rooms that have not yet been updated and it wouldn't have changed the way we felt about the place if it was the newly renovated rooms. We loved every minute of our stay. Everything we needed was available to us and at ease of access. Close to great shopping and perfect pool. It was kid friendly, CLEAN, refreshing and relaxing did I mention CLEAN. Our room was a 1 bedroom suite with a view from the 52nd floor to the North. We had a great view of Paris Tower and the surrounding North Strip locations. The tower was located off the strip to the east but not even enough to really feel like it or make it matter. Direct access through the same parking garage as Planet Hollywood and side street access less than a block off Las Vegas BLVD. We could even get a glimpse of the corner of Bellagio fountains going off from our room. The doors were heavy and made the entire suite quiet even make the living space quite from the bedroom. We traveled with our young son and we were able to wake up and turn all our our lights on in the room and bathroom and enjoy a few hours of quite relaxing morning before he woke up and make our day busy. This was all because the heavy doors and the heavy blinds that kept his area dark. It absolutely makes vacationing something to desire rather than hectic and crowded. ENJOYABLE

Room Tip: upgrade to the 1 bedroom suite it provides a full kitchen and projector (if you are planning on spen...

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and glad to hear you were able to spend an enjoyable family vacation with us. I appreciate your comments about how clean everything was as our Housekeeping team works so hard to make sure that our guests have a refreshingly clean suite. With having little ones of my own, I can appreciate the quiet hours of children asleep and I hope we are on the top of the list should your travels lead you back to Las Vegas!

I first stayed here in August 2013 with my husband and son. I loved the idea of not only a spacious room but the freedom to cook if you wanted to. We booked the one bedroom suite and we were not disappointed.

We always had breakfast in the suite, by stocking up with cereal, cold milk and juices. The fridge is more than big enough.

The views were awesome too, we stayed in 1921, it's not too high and is facing the back of Planet Hollywood and a car lot, BUT you have the view of the Eiffel Tower, you can see the fountains at Bellagio (some of it), you can now see the high roller all lit up at night and every hotel from that point onwards. The best part is watching the sun rise or set in the mountains.

The pool is great, you can sit in shallow parts (6" and 9") to get a faster tan and keep cool (trust me in August this is needed), and the main part is 3 1/2 ft deep all over, which was reassuring for me to know my son could stand up in all areas. Clean pools, you can now take food to the pool and soft drinks (in 2013, neither was allowed).

The hotel is in a good location, you can either walk through the miracle mile shops to get to it, or take the side door from East Harmon Ave (never the sushi buffet), I found this the quickest, but both are fairly quick!

If you present your room key at the Starbucks there you get 10% off your order. Plus you get free WIFI there.

I loved this place so much that we stayed there again in May 2014, we emailed ahead and asked if we could have the same room again. We got what we asked for! The best thing too is the washer dryer, it's so nice not to come home with washing to do. One tip is to wash your clothes, then dry on its own cycle. I did the two in one on the first time I used it and the clothes smelts a little over done. This way you can test if you need to dry for longer or not. But then you may not be as sad as me and actually do any washing on holiday, I just hate that reality thud when you get home of normal chores!

Beds are too comfy! That's never a negative! Except you won't ever want to get up.

Can't fault this place at all, the only issue is I struggle to want to try elsewhere as this ticks all the boxes and would always feel like I should have stayed here!

Room Tip: Too high a floor would probably make you feel queezy, views are great though!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for staying with us again. I am glad to learn that we were able to place you in the same suite as you enjoyed last time out. I have to agree that we have amazing views of not just the Casinos but also of the Las Vegas valley and even watching the planes taking off and landing. It is hard to find in Las Vegas a suite that you can actually wake up and cook breakfast in and relax before hitting the town and glad you were able to take advantage of all the great amenities in our suites. Hope to see you again soon!

Elara is a spectacular property. We arranged for a Hilton Grand Vacations time share presentation, and were offered a very competitive rate for three nights at Elara. Our suite was awesome. Full kitchen with stainless appliances and a flat screen over the breakfast bar. We really enjoyed having access to filtered water and ice from the refrigerator. The living room area was open to the kitchen. Had a large, comfy sectional couch and another flat screen, of course, this one with a nice speaker. The living room also had a projector so you could watch on the large white window shade - we didn't try it out.

The master suite was also amazing. King bed, another flat screen (that's three if you're counting), and a Jacuzzi tub. We hiked Mt. Charleston (challenging 8.5 hr hike), and really enjoyed a warm soak in the tub at the end of the day. There were chairs and a long counter/desk in the bedroom too, which made it easy to spread out and keep yourself organized,

The bathroom was great. Nicely appointed tile show stall with awesome shower head, large vanity and separate toilet, although the doors to the toilet were frosted glass, which was not as private as one would like. The fourth and final flat screen was in the bathroom.

The pool area was nice. Not huge. I visited late on a Saturday afternoon, and was able to find a single chair. I ordered a drink, which took a long time. The waitress ended up comping my second drink because the first took so long. Then she never came to collect my credit card, so I had go to the bar to settle up. That also took a long time. I don't think they had enough staff attending to the pool area.

We really like the location of this hotel. There is "front door" access to the Miracle Mile Shops, and the Planet Hollywood Casino is a short walk through the shops. For our purposes/preferences, Elara is positioned in a great spot on the strip, with easy walking to many of our favorites like Paris, NY NY, Bellagio, etc.

We had a car, so used the Planet Hollywood/Elara parking garage. Could not believe how crazy busy it was. First, the entrance is confusing, as the signage directing you to self-park is unclear. It was quite busy and crowded when we arrived Friday night around 10 p.m., but we didn't have to wait in a line to get in, and we found a relatively good parking spot. On Saturday, we returned around 7 p.m. and the structure was a madhouse. Valet was full, and a worker was directing a long line of cars to self-park. We passed it up and went to the Paris parking structure next door. No lines and no crowds over there.

Overall, loved this property. Would happily stay here again.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for learning more about our Vacation Club. I am glad to hear that you had a spectacular time at the Resort and loved all the amenities our Suites and Resort has to offer. Not many guests take advantage of the nature that is around Las Vegas and excited to learn you had a great hike up at Mt. Charleston. With peaks at 11,000 feet it is a great escape from the desert heat and once you are up there it is hard to believe you are just right outside Las Vegas. Sorry to hear the service at the pool was not on point and I will address what happened.
