“1 bedroom”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

Had a great 1 bedroom suite at the Elara Hilton Vacations Club. Mid August stay. The room was very nice and close to the center of the Las Vegas strip. We liked the fact that it was connected to the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile shops. We are not gamblers so it was not a problem not having an onsite casino. The rooms were very quiet, did not hear any hall noise. Only negative was that you had to buy their drinks pool-side could not bring your own down from your room. If I had paid the great amount of money they want for their club ownership I would not like that I was also required to pay their high prices for drinks. That was the only negative that we saw with the property.

My fiance (now my wife) and I checked in for 4 nights and had an excellent experience at the Elara. We arrived at check-in around 3PM only to find one other person in front of us which was quite a relief. We were greeted warmly and treated very well. We inquired about an upgrade and were able to upgrade from the studio to a one bedroom on the 52nd floor for an extra $25 a night...worth every penny. Loved the floor to ceiling windows in the living area and bedroom. The electronically controlled black out shades and pillowtop king size bed made for a great night's sleep too! The view of the Vegas strip was spectacular during the day but even better at night. The floor was quiet overall. Only complaint was that there was some construction going on in one of the rooms around us. There was a hammer or something doing some pounding that woke us up at 9AM one of the days...way too early for Vegas. I tried to call the front desk but was not able to reach anyone. No other complaints. Pool was nice. Not too crowded. Easy to find a spot. If you are looking for a day club, this is not it. However, I found it a great spot to soak up some Las Vegas sun. Service was fine at the pool. Location was perfect, just off the lobby and very close to the elevators. Even though the Elara is technically off strip, it is connected to the Miracle Mile Shops and Planet Hollywood so you can get to the strip in a matter of a few minutes on foot. The decor is nice, but a little outdated in my opinion, but that's a matter of taste. Lots of red, white, and black...took me back to the 80's a bit. The upside, Hilton is renovating about 4 floors per year so they will be updated soon. We took a tour an saw the newly updated models. More modern, better amenities, nicer color scheme, and better materials and finishes. That said, we did love the full size fridge...having an icemaker was great! Saved time and hassel of having to go to the vending areas like in most hotels. Being connected to the Miracle Mile Shops was great. It has some great shops but left a little to be desired in the area of quality restaurants...nothing like what you find at the Forum Shops at Caesar's. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Having a full kitchen is very convenient for entertaining or for families. Overall, a great value for Las Vegas luxury.

Room Tip: Ask for a room upgrade with a stripside view overlooking Paris Hotel/Eifel Tower and on a higher fl...

This is a great hotel if you are not really interested in gambling, which my wife and I are not. Instead of a casino at the bottom of it, it has the miracle mile shopping area which has great restaurants and shopping places. The staff were friendly and pleasant, the service was fantastic and the room was amazing. Very modern, clean and we had a Jacuzzi in the room!

Which ever side you face there is plenty to look at, either the airport or the strip side. We changed rooms after the first night, as we arrived a day early after a disaster with the previous hotel (see my previous review of the Longstreet Inn and Casino, NV). The gym is a modern clean place, and the pool was busy but great to relax.

My only gripe was that the Wi-fi was crazy expensive, so we didn't get it. Wi-fi these days should be free, and is kind of expected! I had a Three sim card with unlimited data, so I wasn't bothered really.

Room Tip: The higher the better, the lifts are very quick!

Stayed in 1 bedroom apartment for 5 nights. Had friends staying in next room with connecting doorway (not planned but was a positive). Very quiet & comfortable. Loved the hotel not being part of a casino. Very clean & security conscious. Best hotel we stayed in USA over our 3 weeks of travelling. Will recommend hotel to everyone travelling to Las Vegas.

I stayed at the Elara for 16 nights 5th-21st August in a 1 bedroom suite and is my 15th visit to Las Vegas and normally stay at other strip hotels, I was a bit worried because of all the negative reviews about party noise, house keeping and cleanliness of rooms.
All of these worries were put to rest after the first nights stay, we were on the 27th floor room 2730 had a view of the pool, there was no noise, room was spotless and housekeeping was excellent, in fact all members of staff were very friendly and polite. The pool was quiet most days apart from Saturdays and I had no problem getting a Lounger in the same spot everyday. Cannot comment on the poolside service as I never used it but all the lifeguards were very polite and would always say Hi. Other reviewers mentioned having to show your room key every time you enter the lifts or go to the pool but this was a good thing, at least it keeps the scum out.
The suite was a good size just right for 2 people, the washer dryer was handy, but a bit of advice wash your clothes in there but hang your clothes to dry by the bedroom and living room windows it's a lot quicker.
The only negative was the Wi-Fi it was total crap, you had to keep on logging in every couple of minutes because the signal kept dropping off. Although I did pay to use it for the 16 nights ($39.99 for seven days or $9.95 per day for 4 devices). The charge was waived when I complained to reception upon check out.

All in all this is an excellent hotel and will be booking another 16 nights for the same time next year.

The ELARA provides a really great escape from the real world. The suite was plush and perfect! All amenities were outstanding and the staff (at all levels) were top of the line and cared about my/our enjoyment and pleasure. Security was really "secure" in a city where one cannot trust everyone. Great technology and wonderful floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows to enjoy Vegas 24/7. WOW!
