Got this experience gift for my husband for Father's day and it's true that you won't find anything out there that is like Dig This.
So here's the good and bad about our experience at Dig This.
-experience like no other
-we had use of 3 excavators for our group at the same time
-everyone there was very friendly and helpful
-we got bottles of water during our booked time which was a scorcher!
-lots of photo ops
-if you're a spectator then the viewing areas are very limited. You can sit inside and bask in the AC however if you want to watch the activities then you only have 2 choices outside. You can either sit under a tree which is a good ways away from the action (telephoto lens required) or you can sit under a canopy that is erected in the middle of the construction site. Be warned though, when a gust of wind comes by or digging is being done, sand/dust will most likely blow to the spectators. Cough Cough.
-would have been nice to have a little bit of free time to play with the machines. Just as the previous reviewer (Jack M) mentioned, all the moves were instructed and managed by the instructor.
-Would have liked to have seen some kind of special onsite when we arrived if the other machines were available. i.e. We have 2 bulldozers open for the same session you're spectating. We'll throw in a special of $199 if any of you are interested in doing a dig of your own! Had this been the case, I may have just joined in as well. : )
-some kind of AC trailer out in the field would have been awesome!
-live remote web feed to people who are inside the building watching. Can even provide access to friends/family who are not there to watch online via the website with an access code. This would definitely provide added value and won't cost much to set up from a business perspective! ;o)
I would have given this experience 5 stars but took 1 off because there really wasn't a comfortable area in the heat to watch everyone having fun.
Note: if you have spectators that are handicapped i.e. wheelchair then they really won't be able to go watch it live. This is where the web viewing might come in handy. : )
