“We loved our stay - great location!”
Reviewed 4 July 2011

Six of us stayed here in May 2011 for our first trip to Vegas. We loved the location of the hotel it was an easy walk through the Flamingo out to the strip every day. The room was very nice and clean. We had plenty of space for all of us and the kitchen was a plus for breakfast in the morning and storing waters for the day. You felt secure while in the hotel - you had to use your room key to get around (doors and elevators). Their store/cafe had a nice $2 wrap and chips deal which was a perfect snack. They also had free cucumber water which was good. The only downside is the parking(free) it is far away and through an alley way. We walked through it late at night and had no problems though. Free internet is a plus :)

We stayed here with another couple in Oct 2010, what a great experience. We stayed in a very large apartment with full cooking facilities, laundry etc and it was great. The apartments were roomy, light, well furnished with a pleasant decor and also very quiet.
We were right on the strip but the resort was an oasis of calm. The outdoor pool area was superb and you felt like you were miles from the frantic pace and noise of Vegas right outside the gate. Excellent spot for walking around and along the strip and handy to all the eating and nightliofe you could want.

Room Tip: We were in the holiday ownership side of the hotel

It was located within walking minutes to Caesar's and Bellagio. I would call it a hidden treasure because it is right behing the Flamingo so you can only see the top of the building from the strip yet it is such a great close to everything you need location. There was no casino at the HGVC because it provides more of a family atmosphere, more upscale but the casinos are very close. The layout of the room was amazing. Everything was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The only problem we had was the first day the shower had a leak, we called the front desk & they sent someone up to fix it almost immediately. Talk about great service! The room also overlooked the Flamingo pool, which has something going on every day, music, dance contests, etc... HGVC members can chose to use the Hilton pool which is a bit more low key or they can use the Flamingo pool, which is a Vegas Hot Spot. We will definitley go back when we can!

Room Tip: Ask if there is an upgrade availabe.

A RCI holiday option which we took up for a weeks stay at Las Vegas which was an adjoining property to the Flamingo hotel --the suite was huge with two jacuzzis, two full bathrooms, one big and one small kitchen, two large king beds --pull out beds etc etc in terms of facility it could not be beaten --- stayed with a friend and yet there was enough room for us --& more if there were ! We were on a higher floor and loved the views from the huge glass windows ---lot of entertainment and restaurants within easy walking distance

We've stayed at this HGVC several times since 2003, and we told the management this time that we'll never stay here again. It's a shame, too, because the property is really nice as is stated in other reviews. If you are looking for a peaceful stay, as we were, this is not the location. The Flamingo Hotel/Casino begins blaring music from their pool about 10 a.m. every day, and they do not shut it off until about 6 p.m. It's loud, throbbing music with heavy bass that you clearly hear even in your room with the doors closed, because they have big speakers pointed right at the HGVC at the property boundary. The HGVC manager told me that they've unsuccessfully tried to get them to change it. The Flamingo has also erected a fence between the properties, so you have to walk around to an outside entrance and be processed through an airport security type station and get an armband after having your bags searched in order to enter the Flamingo pool area. Before Hilton sold the Flamingo to Harrah's you could just walk into the Flamingo pool area right next to the HGVC, which was very convenient, and then on into the casino. We went once to the Flamingo pool during our stay this month, but we left after about 15 minutes because of the loud music. You now have to walk around in the street (no sidewalk) to get to the Strip, too. We'll use our HGVC points elsewhere next time.

Having been to Vegas several times in the past, this trip was primarily in order to try the new Skywalk at the Grand Canyon. We chose the Hilton Grand Vacations because of the reviews provided on this site and we were more than pleased with our choice. From the welcome at check-in to the quality of our room we could not find nothing to fault. The staff were extremely helpful and the service provided was excellent. Our studio room was clean, quiet and had a nice view overlooking the Flamingo pool area. The fitness room had a good array of machines for those who felt the need to exercise off the large Vegas meals and whilst the pool areas was immaculate with plenty of towels available for sunbathers and swimmers, it would have been nice if the area had been a little larger (plus the sun doesn't hit the pool area until after 10 a.m. which was a little inconvenient because we like to get two or three hours sun early so the rest of the day can be taken up with other things.) You can make use of the Flamingo pool, but from what we could see that got very crowded and noisy. However, that did not detract from the enjoyment of our visit and we would certainly go back.
Car park was located around the corner from the entrance of the hotel, but only a five minute walk.

We are HGVC members and decided to use points for a trip to Vegas last year. We booked the Flamingo due to the central location but were very disappointed with the quality and general cleanliness of the public areas and our one bedrom suite. The check in area was clean and failry ok but there the positives ended. We made our way to our room through dirty carpeted corridors that looked as if they hadn't seen a vaccum in months. There was a damp and dirty odour throughout and when we got to our room it was very dark and dingy. We tried to get over the disappointment and unpacked then went for a walk along the strip. Whilst walking back to the suite I decided I would mention my concerns to reception. The gent we spoke to seemed very surprised at my opinion but he did offer to put us in an alternative room, he came with us to show us another room a few floors up but it was exactly the same. I was beginning to feel that our expensive purchse of HGVC points was not rewarding us with good accommodation!!!! I said I wasn't happy with the cleanliness of the rooms, especially the walkways and public areas. The noise from the pool area was alarmingly loud also which was rather annoying. We asked to be transferred to the HGVC on the Strip, the gent was very helpful in organising this for us ao we quickly re-packed and made our way down there. The difference is quite remarkable. I was stunned when we checked in. The building is much newer granted but the quality is far superior and super clean. We were in tower 2 with a fabulous view. Comfy clean beds, lovely lounge, bedroom and bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen was fabulous for keep our drinks cool and for preparing our breakfast and light snacks. Its abit further away from the hustle and bustle of the strip but we used the regular bus for a few dollars for three day ticket. Although we did walk up to the middle of the strip every morning which took about 15 minutes and provided some light excersise too. I can absolutely, without hesitation recommend this hotel if you are looking for something a little quieter and 5* quality. After staying there last year we have booked again for September this year and we can't wait to get back there. We have been to vegas 8 or 9 times now and stayed at Caesars Palace and the Bellagio and the HGVC on the Strip is better than both.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor, the view is amazing
