Our flight arrived late, and, thankfully, the check-in was quick and easy. Since we were exhausted and hungry from the long flight the staff recommended Coco's about a 5 min. walk away. Great choice! Good food and inexpensive. He also advised that since we were timeshare residents, we could have continental breakfast delivered to the room daily at no charge along with the USA newspaper. What a joy! My only complaint was the condition of the carpets. They needed shampooing badly! We had a 2 BR 2BA unit with a side view of the strip. The bathroom was extremely small and needed some shelves for tolietries but we adjusted to that after a few days. Admittedly an older resort, but, with a little housekeeping and their great customer service, the Desert Rose could easily be a 4 star resort.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of October 2013 and could not fault it. It is in an ideal position nice and quiet 1 block away from the main strip that takes about 5 minutes max to get to. It is smoke free and casino free and there is no resort fee added to the final bill as most Vegas hotels do. The free breakfast is ideal to start the day with a nice choice of toast, cereal sausages or bacon etc. There is free tea and coffee 24 hours a day. Monday to Thursday 5-7 was free beer and wine. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were massive, clean and tidy. As it was the end of October we had no problem getting a lounger around the pool but this might not be the case in the height of summer. When ever I book a holiday I research trip advisor before making a decision of where to stay and it never ceases to amaze me what people moan about. So ignore the negative reports, which I did and I guarantee that you wont find a better value hotel in Vegas. enjoy your holiday here as we did

This resort is in dire need of upgrading and repairs. Carpets are filthy and torn; furniture is chipped and thread bear. Kitchen only has one frying pan and one small pot to cook with. Two people cannot be in the kitchen at the same time - no dish towels or dish cloths. Resort is several long blocks from the strip. Breakfast and manager's reception are nice. Resort now owned by Wyndham and all services are routed through the concierge ( parking pass; printing of boarding passes ) where the hard sell is constant. Hootters side rooms are very noisey and other rooms offer no view, other than the parking lot. Free WIFI was available .Betty at the front desk was outstanding helping us change rooms from viewing the laundry room roof. Not four of five stars!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the Hooters Hotel are quiet.

We spent our first night at the Desert Rose to break the journey having arrived late on a transatlantic flight and needing to drive to Zion the next day.

The Desert Rose served its purpose well. Our suite was spacious, if dated, and the low rate included breakfast which was ok and enough to set us up the next day.

This is probably our 7th stay here and will return. The staff are very accommodating. We were here to celebrate my husband's birthday and mentioned it when asked at the front desk. The young man said we will deliver your breakfast each morning - what a pleasant surprise. We had always stayed on the strip previous but once we found this oasis we have returned every year and twice this yr. We love having a kitchen and a balcony to sit out and watch the lights of Vegas. It is any easy walk to the strip. The check in is always quick and efficient. We miss Gloria and Carrie but other than that it's a great place. Our friends were staying at Bally's because of the location. The WiFi charge was 15.00 a day and 1.25 for each call. There was also the long line up for check in and no fridge. They also had to find a place for breakfast each day.

Room Tip: We always ask for a room facing the pool and on the top floor.

The hotel is nice the grounds are well kept and it's right behind hooters so it is close to the strip. This hotel has no casino and it makes it nice and quite. The morning breakfast is basic, eggs, bacon, toast, cereal...... And is just perfect for us. In the early evening they have free cocktails and a few snacks. The rooms are fully equipped with stove, oven, refrig, micro and coffee pot and all the dishes and pots and pans. We needed more pots and they brought them up to us. The only complaint I would have is that the maids don't speak English and two days in a row they didn't clean my room they said they mis understood me when I said be back In ten min. I also have to look for them for toilet paper and dish soap and they don't really clean the tub just make the bed and bring the towels. But with a call to the front desk, they are on top of it. With that said I would stay again and I would recommend it. The staff is friendly the guest were friendly. I didn't use the pool it was to cold but it looked big enough with hot tubs and a gas BBQ for the guest to use.
