As a family of 4 we stayed here in 2012 and wrote a favourable review. I was very pleased that our recent stay in May 2014 matched the same high standards as previously encountered. The rooms are very comfortable and set within a well maintained and secure environment. And as before the staff were friendly and helpful, and the mix of guests always seems to be about right.
To be able to reach the strip with ease and return for swimming up until 11.00pm definetly ticks the box for my 10 & 12 year old daughters. We will definetly return.

We are pleased your daughters enjoyed the pool area. In the summer months it definately gets a lot of use. More imporrtantly, we are glad you felt secure in our resort. We have very astute officers that patrol 24 hours a day. Please come back soon.

For us it was ideal. An oasis away from the hectic Strip, yet only a 10 minute walk from it. We had a large one bedroom apartment, which had a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, and balcony. We used the gas BBQs a couple of times - a good way to relax at the end of a hot day. The pool area was lovely and never crowded. Fresh coffee was available all day in reception, but you could always make it in your room. Staff we're very polite and helpful. Also, not a gaming machine in sight.
If you want a full-on, casino hotel this is not for you, I guess.

Stayed for 7 days and after changing room 2nd day first room needed some upgrading and there was a noisy machine outside the window all night, found facilities contained everything like home.Dissapointed that breakfast was not provided as that as that was one reason for booking this hotel.Understood ownership changed.Major complaint is not enough sunbeds for size of resort especially as most had only towels on.
All considered would stay here again

Room Tip: Have a look at the room before you accept it,some have no view.

We spent 9 days at Desert Rose as a base for our latest trip to the Las Vegas area. Close to, but not on, the south end of the strip, easy walking distance to Hooters, Tropicana, MGM Grand, New York - New York and Excalibur. Great condo with all expected facilities, we had a nice quiet apartment on level 2 facing in to a quiet courtyard. Staff helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Rooms on level 2 or 3 facing in to the courtyards seem to be quieter than the ones on the outer edge...

My wife and I have been to The Desert Rose Resort many times and will certainly return again. We arrived to learn they no longer do happy hour or basic breakfast any longer, big let down!! Our room #3303 served it's purpose but this property is screaming for renovations/upgrades. Functional but badly dated. Furniture old and badly worn. For condo style units, bathrooms are tiny with no counter space. Had to place toiletries in bedroom on dresser. Shell Vacations Resorts needs to invest!! Property relatively quiet located directly behind the Tropicana at the end of the strip to some would say it's well placed. I'll return but hope they step up they're game soon

The dynamic of the lobby is changed due to the renovations scheduled for 2014. We are very excited for the amenities that we will be able to offer once it is complete. We do appreciate the comment regarding your return. We look forward to seeing you again.

Our stayed totaled three nights split by a rafting trip through Western River Expeditions, which has a relation with the hotel. The resort has been purchased by Wyndham recently. The rooms are condominium style with three distinct rooms (bedroom, bath, living/dining/kitchen). I believe all rooms have a balcony. The lobby area is large with adequate seating. Starbucks coffee is available 24/7. The concierge staff is tops offering great advice and assistance. The hotel clerks were gracious and also helpful. This is/was a time share. The pool area is isolated by a nice wall to preclude outsiders peaking in with great lounge chairs. The only detractor is the lack of any breakfast, but the rooms do have all the elements for cooking including a 12 cup coffee maker with supplied coffee.

We are very pleased that our Guest Service and Concierge staff were helpful and friendly. They work very hard to assist with guest needs. Wyndham has a commitment to being responsive, respectful and delivering a great experience.

My daughter and I stayed here for Memorial weekend two days as we went to see the Cher concert at the MGM, but I didn't want to stay in a casino, as there are a few in walking distance like Hooters across the parking lot, MGM walking distance, Tropicana. Anyway comfy bed, full on kitchen, dining area, balcony which ours faced the pool, nice pool. This place though is going to be time shares as Wyndham is taking over from Shell vacation resort. No breakfast as some old info still says so, but they give you a ticket for a pathetic white bag with an orange, bottle water and granola bar, oh and a poor looking muffin, I told them when we checked out it was rather an insult to give you this, and not to bother with it, a laugh really, just have coffee which is Starbucks served in the foyer, but don't bother with the White bag, but I really liked the place, pity it's going to be Time Shares. We got there hours earlier but they let us check in. They don't have room service but if you need anything just call

Room Tip: Don't know if we were North/South/East or West but looking at the pool, sorry no pics of this bu...
