“Would not stay anywhere else when in Las Vegas.”
Reviewed 2 June 2009

The staff was courteous. The room was very clean with all of the amenities of home. The location was easy to get in and out of. Was close to the airport and the Las Vegas Strip. What I did like the best was it being quiet and a non-smoking resort. I can honestly say it was a pleasure to stay there.

The Desert Rose Resort was everything that was promised. I have stayed at many hotels in Vegas including MGM, Venetian, Luxor and Mandalay Bay, and those are great, but if you want a place with a good location, plus all the amenities for an extended stay the Desert Rose it is!!! The king bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything you will need to cook and eat. You don't really need to plan on breakfast though because they have a nice light buffett every morning. Nice pool and workout facility too.

I had a great experience and would highly recommend it.

We booked this resort on the advice given by other posts on tripadvisor, and I would have to agree with them all. This is a little gem amongst a pile of rubble. Do yourself a favour and stay here. It is at the south end of the strip, within walking distance to the entire strip. The rooms are well furnished and very clean, beds very comfortable and a nice free breakfast to start your day. Check in, and out, was hassle free and we would stay here again without hesitation. Well done to all staff and management you are a credit to this establishment.

We stayed at the Desert Rose during Memorial Day weekend. All of Vegas was packed with people, so we were happy to have found a great deal on the price. When we go there we were told that we were upgraded to a 2 BR suite for no extra charge! (we had reserved a 1 BR) That was great news because we had some friends joining us for one night & now they didn't have to stay on the pull out! The room was incredible. It was facing the pool which allowed us to check how crowded it was before we went down there. The sitting area was large & spacious, there was a separate area for dining, a large kitchenette and both rooms had their own bathrooms. We were very excited to have found this place.
The other great news: free breakfast. Not only was their breakfast free, it was quite a lot of food: boiled eggs, ham/turkey cold cuts, breads, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice, and more. It does get pretty crowed, so we went early & carried some back to our room. We also saved some in our fridge to make sandwiches later. It was a great deal.
I suppose one of our favorite things about the Desert Rose was that it was quiet and had no gambling. After walking through all the smokey, loud casinos all day with tons of people it was so relaxing to return to a place that was removed from all of that commotion. That's why we call it the oasis of Vegas. If you like staying amidst all the commotion, this may not be the place for you, but it is very close to MGM grand--an easy 5 or 10 minute walk--so you can get all the glitz and return to the stress-free Desert Rose. Also, from what my friends at the MGM told us, they had to wait about 30 minutes to check in & check out and using the elevators was always a chore. They had to go to the top floor just to get on an elevator to go down! We never had any trouble with the crowds or getting what we needed from the staff.
We had great service from the concierge, front desk and all the staff. I would definitely recommend this to people with kids or anyone who likes to relax while on vacation. A true find!

This was our second stay at the Desert Rose and it was just as pleasant as the first time. Ideally located right across from the MGM Grand, the start of the Mono Rail and the start of the strip, so you are right where you want to be, but it is nice to come "home" to since it has no casino and is small scale. People are friendly and actually recognize you when you walk in and ever so helpful with everything. Although no luxury hotel, the 1 and 2 bedroom units are nicely decorated, everything you need is there (full kitchen), even free internet service and the beds are actually very comfortable. In the morning there is a nice complementary continental breakfast in the lobby area with Starbucks coffee (yep, free too), perfect to start your day and if you don't want to sit there, you just bring it to your room. Great value, will stay there again next time.

I am so glad I found this place! Thanks, TripAdvisor.

We spent a week hiking in Zion and decided to spend 2 nights at the end of the trip in Vegas. My husband had never been to Vegas and wanted to explore the strip but I knew the big glitzy hotels were not for us. The Desert Rose Resort was perfect!

I know a lot of people complained about the walking but I don't know how you can see Vegas without a lot of walking. To go into the Venetian and walk up and down the "Grand Canal" takes longer than it does to walk from the Desert Rose to the MGM.

We had to return our rental car at the airport and didn't want to deal with our luggage so we arrived at the Desert Rose at 11:30am. Our room wasn't ready but they happily stored our luggage. We measured the distance to the car rental return (3.3 miles) and decided to walk back. (I told you we were hikers!) By the time we got back (after a stop at Mandalay Bay), the Desert Rose had called our cell phone to let us know that a room was ready. Great service!

Our two room suite was spotless, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. There is a manager's reception during the week with beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. The "continental plus" breakfast is decent and includes hard boiled eggs, which made me happy. There is Starbucks coffee available in the lobby 24 hours, I guess to keep you awake if you are out late gambling. :-)

My only complaint is that the pool seemed very crowded but it was hot and all of the pools at the big hotels were crowded too. I don't think you can avoid that in Vegas in May.

It was so nice to come back to the quiet of the Desert Rose after spending a day on the noisey, busy strip. We couldn't believe how long the lines were at check-in at some of the big hotels on the strip and how people had to walk through the casino with their luggage to find their rooms! No thank you! Give me the nice, personable Desert Rose any day.

We plan to go hiking in Utah again and will probably fly in and out of Vegas again. When we do, we will definitely stay at the Desert Rose Resort.
