We visited Las Vegas over Valentines day for the annual USA 7's Rugby Tournament. We stayed at the Wyndham Grand Desert as I own timeshare through Wyndham. We rented a car and I'm glad we did- Wyndham is off of the strip not far from the Hard Rock. We found it easy to navigate to all the places we wanted to go. Each hotel offers parking for free so we took advantage of it. The unit was very nice, well equipped and comfortable. Wyndham has the most comfortable beds! Everyone was very friendly at the resort and willing to help us if we needed directions or had any questions. We attended a timeshare "update" which seemed to drag on but since I'm already an owner it wasn't pressured. We did receive a $50 credit for a restaurant. We went to Mesa Grill in Cesar's on Valentines- it was excellent. It is pricey but worth the splurge for a special occasion! We used the hot tub and the pool at the resort- both were very clean and nice. We were able to get free WI-FI in our room - we just called the front desk and asked if we could get a complementary code to use while we were staying there. All we had to do was ask and we didn't have to pay the $30ish charge for it. Would stay there again- and recommend it for anyone.

We got to the resort and the front desk check in process was easy and welcoming, he offered options to views and was acommidating, i asked for a luggage cart and was offered a bell guy to take everything out of my trunk and directly into my room. The activitied room is east to find and has a veriety of options of games, the pool is great, big and with a towel section for alll your drying needs, plenty of chairs, they have a huge kids pool and plenty of jet tubs. Parking is plentiful and great spots to avoid the sun all over. Free crib rental, set of towels and more blankets available just a call away. The check out process is even easier, call the bell desk, tell then you're ready to vacate the room and you're all set. I love every bit of this resort!

We just got back from our stay on Sun. 6/12-Thurs. 6/17. We have stayed in Wyndhams before through time shares & the resort was nice & clean. The kitchen is nice, only used it for breakfast because we were out on the town the rest of the time. The shuttles were nice to Harrah's, but I'm still puzzled by the times & late night pick-ups only at Rio, which is not by Harrah's & not convenient at all if you are on the strip til midnight, which we were most nights! (I had my pedometer & we walked an average of 6-7 miles each day, which included taking the shuttle to Harrah's each morning & doing shopping/casinos/shows each day until about midnight. We walked back to the hotel each night, granted we could have paid a cab, but figured the walking would do us good!) My recommendation is to add shuttles from Harrah's back to Wyndham until at least 12 or 1 a.m.

We enjoyed the adult pool, as we went with another couple & left the kiddos at home, so it was nice not to have kids being loud in the pool! We did the Pool party 1 day & it was nice to get a good deal on drinks at the resort.

Also, a couple observations/tips, skip the $4 charge pp for grocery shopping to Von Ric's & walk to CVS by Hard Rock Hotel (or there's a Walgreens on the strip or they have groceries in the main Tower, but probably $1 more on most things at CVS.) Groceries are not cheap, but is anything in Vegas?? (At CVS, eggs $3.89 dozen, cereal about $4 box, 1/2 gallon milk $3 something, bread $3.69.) We wanted groceries for breakfast the next morning, so we didn't want to wait until the next day.

We thought about going to Fremont Street, but never made it, but noticed that it was $15 pp to take you there f/ 5-9 p.m. through Wyndham. Not sure if this included anything (the neon sign museum?) because we didn't check into the details, we changed our mind on going downtown, but you can take the bus from the strip much cheaper.

My wife and stayed in a 1 bedroom for 4 nights. First impressions is close to the strip but in a quieter location (we have stayed on the strip). Nice clean rooms with a nice large jaccuzzi tub and bathroom. The kitchen area was nice but we did not do any cooking in it. The grounds were nice and we sat in the sun by the pool one afternoon but did not swim. They were doing maintenance on another area. Overall nice place, would consider again if going to vegas.

As it's typically a vacation rental / timeshare, I wasn't sure what to expect. What we found upon arrival was a beautiful resort that was better than I could have asked for!

The buildings feel brand new, as does the luxurious pool area. The rooms were spotless, and it was so nice to have a full kitchen and washer / dryer. We were able to have an inexpensive breakfast of cereal and juice each morning, which is a huge savings. By our fourth night, we were "Vegased out" and decided to have a pizza delivered and just relax in the huge living room by the gas fireplace. It is so nice to have that option!

Toiletries, etc. were of the same quality one would find in any nice hotel, and even included a soothing lotion for sunburns. That was a nice touch I hadn't seen elsewhere.
