“Couldn't have been better”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

A couple of friends and I celebrated a birthday weekend at the Wyndham. It was a great stay; quiet, clean, comfortable. The staff was exceptional. My fiends had arrived before I did, and they even let them use the amenities before I was able to get there for check in. The pool is awesome, and not too far from the strip! Would stay there again!

Absolutely a treat to stay at this great resort. From the minute we walked in, we were treated well. The room was very clean and up to date. The pools were great with nice towels to use. Always plenty of deck chairs and with six in our party that could have been difficult. The shuttle to the grocery store early in our stay was a great benefit. Also the Oasis cafe was nice to have for quick snacks. Overall, this was a fantastic resort and we will definitely be back.

The hotel itself is really quite a nice place, however the terribly inadequate staff members make this establishment a pain to stay at. Unless you're not planning on using staff services at any point, or are interested in time share peddlers attempting to befriend you 24/7, go somewhere else.

GDrey we want to take a moment to thank you for providing your thoughts concerning our resort. We were pleased to hear that our accomodations met your expectations. On the other hand we were concerned that your interactions with our staff fell below your expectations. We strive to deliver our guests with the best in all aspects during their visit. We would be very interested in hearing your concerns about your staff interactions. We take each review seriously and if you wish to reach out to us at 702-691-2600 and ask for Barbara DeJohn I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Pros: Quiet!!! - could not hear other guests coming & going out of their rooms or up/down the hall. Great space for 2 couples.In-room washer & dryer was very handy as my sister & BIL traveled from back east and needed to do their laundry. Entire complex is non-smoking, Nice, clean grounds. Ample parking, could always find a spot. Great pillows, comfortable bed. Great A/C. Soda machines were contained in their own rooms so you didn't hear them being used. Cons: We had a long wait (about 20mins in line) to check in and that was with one other guest in line in front of us (only 2 agents at front deck) . Very poor water pressure. Our toilet kept running (not a big deal but bares to mention) We had to haul our luggage from car to room - did not offer valet when we checked in, but when my sister checked in, they offered it to her. No continental breakfast was offered. Because these are rooms that are independently owned, daily housekeeping was offered for an extra charge. Although we prefer not to have housekeeping (don't like people in our room when we are not there) while we stay at a hotel so this was not a huge con for us.

Room Tip: We had a room down & around a long corridor, so I would ask for a room closer to the elevators.

Green Features: Room has ENERGY STAR guest room appliances. I'm not sure what other environmental practices they had as these were not disclosed to us when we checked in.

Writing this review as I sit at one of the pools. I am so pleased with how friendly the staff is, how beautiful the pools are, and I'm really happy there is a designated smokers lounge near the pool for us smokers (don't judge). I loved the music they played all day and I must add they have played 4 Britney songs in one day (the reason I came to Vegas was to see her residency at Planet Hollywood) and I love it!!!) Overall I would stay here again and if you are smart you will too! :)

JerseyChick19 we were so pleased to read your response related to your stay at the Grand Desert. As a Jersey girl myself, If you can't sit on a beach then a great pool with great music is key. Thank you again for taking the time to spread the word and we hope to see you again soon.

What a palace of a room! Very extravagant for 2 girls. 3 bedrooms one with an amazing attached bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. 2.5 baths in total. A full dinning room and living room. Kitchen with everything we needed including a daiquiri blender! Even our own laundry facilities.

It always seemed like Happy Hour in the lobby! The staff were great and often offered the use of the hotel limo to travel at the same cost of a cab! Do it in style! Hot tub and pool were amazing too!

Hotel may be away from all the lights and action but it's quiet after partying it up on the strip!

There is the KISS Chapel just down the road! ;)

I had originally requested a high floor in tower three due to reviews i had read but when we arrived we were told we could have a room there as requested but we were early for check in as it was not ready. The receptionist then proceeded to tell us the amenities in each tower and suggested tower one (above reception) on the 6th floor as that was available straight away. We took this room and have a view of the pool and we had no noise problems apart from the first night where we heard a leaf blower being used near the pool.

The hotel was in a great location as you were just off the strip meaning it was quiet but only a 10 minute walk to the strip or the local convenience store.

The free shuttle bus to Harrahs was invaluable and saved us so much money on taxi, the drivers were really polite and informative.

The 2 bedroom suite was fantastic and had lots of spare pillows and a great big master bedroom/ensuite. The second bedroom had twin beds and there was also a double pull out sofa bed.

The 2 times we had a problem with the safe a member of staff attended within 10mins to fix. Also the carpets were cleaned weekly and hotel kept clean. Great pizzas on site and free pool towels. Would definitely recommend

The only negative I could find as a Brit was the lack of electric kettle for my tea! Bring a travel kettle as I had to heat hot water in a coffee perculator.

Also I would like to say that we never had anyone try and sell us a time share, I had been quite wary of this from reviews I had read, but we were given our welcome packs without having to attend meetings.

I will definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Vegas.

Room Tip: Tower 3 is away from the main pools and has a private adults only pool that you can use as well as a...
