We are Wyndham owners, and used our points to spend a week here. The resort is conveniently located east of the strip, midway between the Hard Rock Hotel and the Planet Hollywood resort on Harmon.

There are three towers; we stayed in tower 2, on the 14th floor on the side facing the pool. Towers 1 & 2 surround the main pool area, and Tower 3 is off by itself. Unlike many resorts, rooms are not preassigned, so let the front desk know if you have a preference. Yes, we enjoyed the view of the pool area, but there was a slight noise problem which might have been louder on a lower floor.

Do partake of the free activities. Avoid the resort's convenience store; prices are about double what you would find on the street, and a real convenience store is located a two block walk to the east across the street from the Hofbrauhaus and Hard Rock hotel, which are kitty corner from each other.

The resort is very close to the airport, and it you have a unit facing east it can be fun to watch the airplane traffic. We were never bothered by the any noise, however.

When you check in, there is the check in desk, and the "other" desk (which is falsely referred to as the concierge desk) where you need to go to get your parking permit if you have a car. Understand the goal of the staff at the other desk is to sign you up for a timeshare presentation, even if you are already an owner; just so you kn ow what to expect.

I expect you'll enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: Read all reviews so you can decide, and ask at check in for what you want.

This was a great place to stay with a group of friends and family. Everything was clean and the rooms had plenty of space. The kitchens had all the items needed to make meals if you don't want to go out.

Its a long walk to the strip, but they offer a shuttle to the strip as well as the Rio. This worked out very well.

The pools and other facilities were very nice. The only negative was the pressure to attend sessions that eventually would up trying to sell you more Wyndham timeshares. This happened to both owners and non-owners and was very forceful. You even had to go to a separate desk after checking in to be told you were expected to attend a session the next morning.

I've stayed here a few times and I like it because it's quiet off the strip. It depends the time of the year that you go, but I think the price is more than the value. Our shower doors had a hard time closing and you could tell that the towers are on the older side.
They have a shuttle that takes you to the strip which is great and it's not far from all the major attractions.
No Casino which means it was fairly smoke free which is what we like.
Great for families and more lasted back people!

The property was very nice, room nice, clean and well stocked. The pool area is very slippery when wet, even in sandals. The check in process was not smooth, it took about 30 mins with the desk clerk.....I have no idea why and when she was finally finished I did not have a parking pass. You have to go to the other side of the lobby for this, to the "concierge area"......and this is where the trouble started. All I wanted was my pass, oh and that map of the strip would have been helpful. The man getting my "pass" is very helpful and cheerful/pleasant until he started in about the 120 min presentation to which I immediately in no uncertain terms told him I was not interested in. He would not take no for an answer and 15 mins later his attitude had completely changed and he would not give me the map of the strip. Also, this place is not what I would call close to the strip, it is near the Hard Rock. It is three lights, but more like five blocks of narrow sidewalk with cars speeding past. The shuttle drops you off BEHIND Harrahs so you still have a bit of a hike to get out to the strip. Also the shuttle does not run late enough and last one is often overcrowded leaving you with no ride. I did not appreciate the whole check in process.

First off I want to apologize for the struggle you had checking in and the challenges you had at our members service desk. We want you to know that when we receive a review with concerns that we take it very seriously. We stayed at this resort for ten restful nights. The amenities available at the resort are wonderful and vary from shuttle service to the Strip to a 3D theatre. There are fitness rooms on site as well as three lovely pools, peaceful places to sit outside, a concession and parking. Yeh-- the parking! The rooms were clean, quiet and tastefully decorated. The location is within (long) walking distance to the Strip and some of the best Vegas attractions.

Room Tip: -higher rooms have a better view of the Strip or the airport (depending on which building you are si...

This is an older property so the furnishings and carpet are dated and look it. The two bedroom was a nice size and the master bedroom was large with a large bathroom. It also had a nice large Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. The kitchen was nice and good sized for the unit. All the appliances worked well and there was plenty of cookware and utensils. The unit was clean and I would stay here again. There is no valet and it is a large property so that was an issue.

Room Tip: If at all possible ask for a room overlooking the pool or the mountains. It wasn't too loud but...

We have stayed at multiple Wyndhams in the past. The Grand Desert mostly met our expectations. The room was clean and well stocked. The service was prompt and curtious. The location was exactly what we wanted - close to The Strip without being on it. Plus, they claim to be kid-friendly...and they were! The only issue was that the room was smaller than we are used to. Even so, the price was extremely reasonable considering you get a full kitchen and even the pull-out bed had a real spring mattress.
