“Worth the $$$, the view was just a bonus!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

Decided to try the Alize on the recommendation of a friend. Knew well in advance we were going to drop some serious dough. Checked out the menu and decided to give it a try. Everything was really fabulous. From the TWO amuse bouche you get, the bountiful bread basket they bring around, TO. DIE. FOR. French onion soup (like nothing I have ever eaten), the entrée, amazing dessert and the awesome little French candy cart they bring around to top off your meal. We spent just under $200 because we got a $25 off coupon in the Player's Club book that we got when we entered as we arrived early for our reservation. They do offer a prix fixe menu for $75 which includes a select appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. I went this route and it was plenty of food. We were lucky enough to be there after the sun started setting, so we got to see all of Vegas lighting up. I forgot to mention, this is on the 56th floor of the Palms and the view is just spectacular. Not something I would do everyday, but it was well worth it!

“Great food and wonderful view.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

If you want an expensive evening and have a great meal with a stunning view of the Las Vegas strip, make reservations here. Be sure to ask for a window seat and get there right before sunset. It is located on the top floor of the Ivory Tower and it is not very large. It has a very small bar and there is no view. My husband had the lamb which he said 'was one of the best meals he had ever eaten.' I'm a light eater, so I had the ravioli appetizer with a salad which were very unique and tasty. The service was good although we wanted to enjoy the view with a drink and when we were ready to order, it was difficult getting our servers attention. All in all, the food and view was worth it.

“Great food, good, but not outstanding service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

We wanted on upscale dinner on our trip and we chose Alize for it view of the July 4 fireworks. The food was excellent, creative and beautifully served. The wine list (on an ipad) was interesting. Service was only good, bordering on disappointing. It could have been more attentive. For example, after the wine was opened and the initial pour, I ended up refilling the glasses. No big deal, just a little surprising. The wine steward seemed much more interested in chatting with the table next to ours. Also, we ordered the soufflé dessert. We declined coffee (the room was unusually warm). They brought the dessert and that was the last we saw of anyone until they brought the check. We lingered about 20 minutes. I was considering some after dinner wine, but was never asked.

Had a fabulous dinner! First off I will say the setting is truly beautiful. We dined while watching the sun set and the view of the strip was spectacular. The restaurant decor is very refined without competing with the panorama of the famed Las Vegas skyline. Dinner was superb! Very delicate flavors from one course to the next. Definitely try the Dover Sole which is a signature dish and the lobster Thermidor should not be missed. The service was impeccable and truly the perfect compliment to the meal. For a total experience I would highly recommend this place.

“Best meal ever”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Decor is very plain with little character. I've been to nicer bars in my friends' basements. View is very good but not breathtaking. I made reservations >1 mo. ahead to request a window table. We arrived 45 min. early to have a cocktail and to take in the ambiance and view. There is neither at the bar. They could seat us immediately at a window, but not if we waited for our reserved time. The food and service was fantastic! We ordered the wine pairings with the tasting menu, which I recommend because it is less expensive than ordering a single bottle that won't go with every course. Go for the food and wine experience, but temper your expectations beyond that. Expect to drop $250-350 per person with cocktails, wine, and tip plus 2-2.5 hrs.
