Alize is at the top of the Palms and has great view of Las Vegas. The view combined with well prepared and presented food should have made it a ideal experience.
Upon being seated, we remarked the room was warm -- not surprising since it was 110+ that day and the room had floor to ceiling glass on three sides. After asking several times over the course of the meal we were finally told that the air conditioning was broken and they "maintenance" was on the way. We ended up switching from wine to diet coke as the heat was unbearable.
The items responsible for my average rating are:
-- It would have been ideal if the restaurant manager had let us know about the cooling problems -- at well over $100/person, sitting in a 80+ degree room was inconsistent with their intended experience.
--As we walked out, there were cooler tables toward the back of the room that remained empty while we were there. After complaining, it might have been nice if they were offered.
-- After complaining about the temperature and enduring for the meal, it would have a nice gesture to buy us a round of cold drinks.
-- We ordered two deserts, a soufflé and lava cake, that had to be ordered in advance at the start of the meal. Only the soufflé arrived with the comment from the waiter is that he forgot.
Due to this experience, we won't be back. Reading from others reviews, this is not the typical experience so it might be worth a try if you are feeling flush from gaming wins.
