“One of the best meals and service we've had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

We bought the travelzoo tasting menu offer and it was such a good deal. It was the ideal way to try many of the wonderful things on the menu. Alize is on the 56th floor of the Palms, so offers wonderful views not just of the strip but of a lot of Vegas. Request a window table so you have an unobstructed view. It's good to get here for sunset, Vegas sunsets are beautiful as Red Rock makes for some cool pink colors. This was among the top 3 meals we've ever had for quality, taste and presentation (the others were Nobu's tasting menu and Lobster in Fiji). The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive without being overbearing. I have a pepper allergy and they catered for it carefully and perfectly. Thanks Alize for a wonderful evening.

“Wonderful French cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Booked the Alize for our last night in Vegas. We were seated by the window overlooking the strip, what a view. We chose the taster menu and every course was an absolute treat, the presentation was second to none. The only down side was that on the night it was particulaly quiet, could have done with a bit more atmosphere, there were only 3-4 couples in. If you want lovely views, good french food, spot on service and dont mind paying a price then I would certainly recommend.

“Make user the the A/C is working...Won't be back”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Alize is at the top of the Palms and has great view of Las Vegas. The view combined with well prepared and presented food should have made it a ideal experience.

Upon being seated, we remarked the room was warm -- not surprising since it was 110+ that day and the room had floor to ceiling glass on three sides. After asking several times over the course of the meal we were finally told that the air conditioning was broken and they "maintenance" was on the way. We ended up switching from wine to diet coke as the heat was unbearable.

The items responsible for my average rating are:
-- It would have been ideal if the restaurant manager had let us know about the cooling problems -- at well over $100/person, sitting in a 80+ degree room was inconsistent with their intended experience.
--As we walked out, there were cooler tables toward the back of the room that remained empty while we were there. After complaining, it might have been nice if they were offered.
-- After complaining about the temperature and enduring for the meal, it would have a nice gesture to buy us a round of cold drinks.
-- We ordered two deserts, a soufflé and lava cake, that had to be ordered in advance at the start of the meal. Only the soufflé arrived with the comment from the waiter is that he forgot.

Due to this experience, we won't be back. Reading from others reviews, this is not the typical experience so it might be worth a try if you are feeling flush from gaming wins.

“Excellent French Cuisine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

You get what you pay for. We had an amazing dining experience here. The service was 5 star all the way. Get a second mortgage before you ask for the check, because this one is going to set you back a bit. If you can't afford it, you won't enjoy it. The pairings were excellent and food divine. For an $800 meal I would say though, I've had much better for half the price. Probably would not do twice. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us middle class working folks.
