First off this place is busy, so service lacked. I ordered the Prime rib dinner (fantastic) with players card I think $8.99 or $9.99. Real prime rib - very good. My wife ordered the open face turkey sandwich at 10:01pm. She wanted the Sun Turkey dinner but that ended at 10pm - but due to very slow service missed it by one minute, but what she got was a huge "open face sandwich" made with the turkey left over from the special, not lunch meat that comes on the regular open face.

we have eaten here numerous times when it was the old Terribles Hotel and even up to a year ago they had a nice steak and a glass of draft beer for $9.95 not this time the steak was $13.95 and no beer - oh well.

make sure to get a bowl of chicken noodle soup - homemade and very tasty for $1.99

the lineup was long but we went at 8:30pm usually have never had to wait to get into the restaurant - they were definitely under staffed lots of empty tables that needed to be cleaned with a long lineup - people were complaining but what are you going to do? once we got in the service was pretty fast - we grabbed a menu while waiting so we knew what we wanted to order as soon as we got seated, the meal was good - would eat here again only if we stayed in the hotel I wouldn't make a special trip here just to eat though.

this is a 24 hr restaurant. the quality of the food is excellent, the portions are amazingly large, and the prices are more than reasonable. The special that they offer and promote, their Prime Rib Gambler's Special, is excellent, a HUGE portion of Prime Rib, 2 sides, also with large portions, cooked exactly as you order it.

As I mentioned in my hotel review the cafe is short on staff. People have to wait to be seated while the greeter is helping to bus tables to make room available. Once seated your wait begins because the servers have to cover too many tables.

I had the chicken fried steak which was a monster that covered a whole platter and that along with 2 large side orders was more then enough to call for the "doggie bag."

I would recommend the choosing the Filet Mignon and the Lobster tail. It was cooked to perfection! One thing I would like to suggest To Silver Sevens management: When ordering a steak and want to add a lobster tail- the lobster really doesn't need the extra veges served with it. You get plenty of veges with the Steak. Maybe just adding a lemon wedge, garnish and clarified butter would be simply perfect. But all in all we loved the Back Room. Nice touch with the table decor and the lighting was a wee bit dim but I think tea candles would be a great addition to the tables. The service was exceptional. We highly recommend dining at the Back Room Rest. Silver Sevens offes a nice quite romantic place to dine in The Back Room at The Sterling Cafe.Make sure you make reservations for Friday or Sat..
