On the Las Vegas tackiness scale, 1 being the least tacky the Wynn gets a 3. It is quieter than the other hotels, nicer and less crowded which was perfect for us. They have great restaurants and a lot to do in the hotel. We upgraded our rooms, which really meant we are in the upper floors but I think that made a little difference, yet the view was great up on the 56th floor. After an initial hiccup with poor wifi reception which lead to changing our room and one day not getting our room serviced even though we had our service room request on, we didn't have any other issues. Would for sure recommend staying here if you want a more upscale Las Vegas experience.

Of note - there is a resort fee that is for the gym and wifi that is 29 dollars per night which is not included in all the packages that are out there.

Room Tip: I think the view is great from any room

Beautiful setting with exceptionally helpful, pleasant staff. The pool area is gorgeous and very relaxing with soft background music playing. Front desk staff was very accommodating as was the bell captain and staff and housekeeping.

Revisited the Wynn on a two night stay. The key elements of this property are still firmly in place. The resort is first class, clean and well maintained. Our room on the 56th floor provided a great view of the strip. Bedding and finishes in the room are high end. The customer service at all levels was outstanding. No reason to even consider another hotel if you are planning a trip to Vegas

Best hotel I have ever stayed at. Amazing restaurants such a variety too. Sw, Andreas and the country club were our favourite. Clubs amazing went to open pool party on the Thursday and pool party on the Sunday. Rooms were so clean, spacious and the view in the evening was spectacular. Bed was soo comfortable and I loved there robes the bathrooms were so nice too. Waterfalls were a lovely feature.... We are looking forward to returning.

Just returned from a conference at the wynn - one of the nicest properties you can imagine. Rooms are outstanding - large and apartment like in size. Property is immaculate. Staff is first rate. Location is perfect - on the strip but not congested. Numerous restaurants onsite - and close by. Food is outstanding - when you can get in - only issue is lack of priority for guests when dining. Frustrating having to eat off property because no availability due to events. Staff is top shelf - pleasant and accommodating. Doormen very helpful with transportation. Maid staff outstanding. One of the best travel experiences overall that you can find.

Wynn Hotel Stay May 15, 16 2014

The good
Parking the car in self-park is quick, easy and free. Signs lead easily through the casino to the hotel registration area. It's a long way though, so be ready for that.

Our Check-in experience was excellent. We hardly waited at all. Maybe two minutes. The lady who checked us in was helpful and cheerfully explained our package and all it's details. Everyone was super helpful guiding us around the hotel, which is a labyrinth. Two banks of elevators, so be sure to get the right ones. To get to the pool you have to go down to the spa/gym level, then through a maze to another elevator and down again to the pool. Good thing there are plenty of friendly and polite staff around to help guide you.

The walk out to the pool is spotlessly clean and beautifully landscaped with plenty of lounge chairs. The pool was very beautiful, warm and comfortable. The tile designs on the bottom of the pool reminded me of the pool at Hearst Castle, but there aren't roman columns. Not a lap pool. Too warm for that, and oval shaped, so not for lap swimming. The adult pool area was quite crowded when I was there. I ordered a margarita, which was $20 including the tip. It was ok, a 16 oz Solo cup size margarita, but wowza, the price. Only had one of those.

Our room was awesome. We were on the 19th floor on the Strip side. The room had automated curtains, per-programmed lighting scenes, an enormous bathtub AND big marble tiled shower with a bench seat, three phones in the room (yes, one was in the commode), and a TV in the bathroom. The hand towels were as big and plush as bath towels in some hotels, and the bath towels were luxury. The robes in the room were super comfortable. YouTube video of our room at

The Wynn Buffet was very good. The dessert section was as big as the whole buffet near our house back in Phoenix. There are more than a dozen sections of buffet to visit; salads, sandwiches, pizza, Italian, craft breads, sliced meats, cold seafood, hot seafood, sushi, etc. It just went on and on. Shrimp dumplings in chili sauce? Yes please. Bagels & lox with capers, onions & tomatoes? Sure. Omelets made to order? Short line for those, but worth the wait. It's a huge buffet with people streaming through. We did lunch there, but it'd be great for any meal.

And the show, La Reve, was beyond imagination. It means 'the dream', but I've never had a dream that wild or fantastic. At least 50 of the most fit, strong, bendy and talented people you've ever seen dance, swim, jump and dive through one set change after another, as the pool beneath them constantly changes, with music perfectly timed, and actors and acrobats fly through the air above you. Many times the audience wanted to applaud, but there was something even more fabulous about to happen and the show went on smoothly. It lasts about an hour and a half, and you're mouth will hang open in wonder the whole time.

Each morning we worked out at the gym, which was surprisingly crowded. There are a lot of beautiful people at the Wynn. No surprise there. Towels and water was provided, as well as fruit, and even cold damp washcloths kept in a small fridge. That was pretty nice. The treadmills were top notch, with individual TV screens, a fan, and the ability to incline or decline. Gym staff stages each one with a water bottle and towel. This gym has a lot of equipment in a fairly small space. There were yoga mats, medicine balls and big inflated balls, resistance bands, foam rollers, jump ropes, weights, a circuit of weight machines, and about a dozen each of treadmills, orbitals and exercise bikes. There are magazines, and several current newspapers available. They have small boxes available to use as lockers for your personal items. The bathrooms are out the door of the gym, and are shared with the spa area, so they're pretty luxury.

On hotel checkout we accidentally left my wife's jewelry in the safe and had to return to the hotel after we'd checked out to pick it up. The front desk staff was very helpful and responsive. We had to wait a while for them to find a manager and get the safe opened, but they had a nice seating area and brought us cold water while we waited.

The Bad:
The toilet sounded like an explosion when you flush it. I guess that's the new modern toilet design, not the hotel's fault, but irritating to me. Toilets should not make that much noise.

I'm not sure about their strategy with pillows on the bed. There are two really big pillows, and two normal size pillows. Is that a thing now? Whatever. The bed was super comfortable.

We could hear the Tryst night club until well into the wee morning hours, though it was very distant sounding, not irritating. We could also hear the train whistling out past the strip, and any emergency vehicle's sirens as they went down Las Vegas Boulevard. This is also not the hotel's fault, but something you should know if you stay there. We were on the 19th floor, so maybe if you were higher up you'd have less noise.

The hotel charged my credit card more than $300 too much for the cost of the show, La Reve, which was supposed to be included in our room package. I emailed them when I saw the credit card charge, and they reversed it immediately and emailed me to apologize within hours of my contacting them.

Summary: I'd stay at the Wynn again in a hot second, if they send me another offer. I won't pay their normal prices though, not because it's not worth it, but because I just can't afford them. It's a lovely hotel and a spotless, beautifully kept property. The staff was totally professional and friendly, and the experience was very positive.

Room Tip: Don't miss the pool. It's beautiful.
