“Great view from room”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

We were over looking golf course and city, couldn't ask for a cleaner view. Room was very clean and airy. The linen was best of any resort, thick and quality linen. Casino was very open and not over filled with machines and tables. Everything clean except for CIGAR smoke??

Great place to party and have fun. If you can grab a room for under 160 a night it is a good deal . Otherwise it is a bit overpriced. Nonetheless , I would recommend staying here if your partying at Xs or encore beach club and tryst.

The Wynn is a quiet hotel. It's thankfully not a party hotel where you can hear drunken talking, shouting and banging around on the floor you're staying at. You definitely don't get parties in the room next to yours. For sure, the Wynn is a five star resort. So it being a luxury resort helped keep the ambiance of its hotel floors quiet. The cheaper hotels get frequented by the party goers. In consideration, I would pay the little extra to go to the five star resort, so that I don't get bugged by the party goers who stay in the cheaper hotels so as to save their money to spend on the party bars. Some resorts I would go to, but they're party hotels and I like to sleep when I go to bed and not get bothered :).

Room Tip: The daily wifi is $15.99

CONSISTENCY in hotels, restaurants, airlines, etc. is the hallmark of a truly great institution.

THE WYNN achieves the impossible: it is consistently The Best in all rating areas:
rooms, restaurants, gaming, recreation (golf, pools, spa, shows, fitness center, concierge, etc.).

It may be impossible for them to do anything wrong, but we visit at least four times a year...,
and have do so since they opened their doors.

They deserve this commendation, because they make perfection look easy...when it's anything but easy.

THANK YOU

Room Tip: A bad room? At The Wynn? Impossible.

My partner and I booked a Corner Panoramic Room at the Wynn via their website for 30% off the rack rate. We arrived Sunday at around 12:30pm and had already requested early-arrival for a flat rate of $50 (Tip: If you want early arrival, it’s best to select it when you are booking your room - at $50, otherwise you will be offered it subsequently for $50/night!).

We were given a room right away on the 59th floor (really 49th but they don't use floor numbers beginning in 4's out of respect for Asian clientele) with views of the north part of the strip and the golf course (north side of property, toward Encore). The views from the panoramic room are simply incredible. I practically could have stayed in the room all day just to watch the sunrises and see the changing light on the mountains. If we hadn't been given such a high floor, I definitely would have requested a room on the south side of the property away from the nightclubs. I am not really a light sleeper, but when I would occasionally awaken in the middle of the night, the club noise was noticeable if you listened closely. This would either be in the form of just bass (which wasn't so bad) or electronic riffs which were more disturbing to trying to fall back asleep because of the pitch and repetitive nature of them. I would either suggest earplugs or asking for a different room if you are on the north side of the property in a lower floor room. Despite the noise from outside (we also heard the whistle of a train occasionally), we heard absolutely no noise whatsoever from neighboring rooms, which was great.

The rooms are immaculate - perfectly decorated and without a fault in the attention to detail. Molton Brown toiletries are complimentary. Marble-topped tables and dressers provide an added touch of luxury.

I had custom-ordered a birthday cake prior to arrival which was delivered very promptly – actually early, because we arrived early and I had requested if it were possible. The cake was incredibly decorated and the flavor was sublime. Each and every contact with any person in the hotel was incredibly friendly and utterly professional. We requested a box and an extra refrigerator to store the cake and also ordered room service one morning and each time, everything was delivered in less than 10 minutes. Even though the hotel is massive and feels like a Disney-type resort in terms of the number of people on the Casino floor, on the room floors it almost feels as though you are the only guest.

Shopping is incredible – in the Wynn they have Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Cartier, Manolo Blahnik, Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy, Graff, etc. In Encore, they have Chanel, Hermes and more. Staff are friendly, especially if it comes up that you are a guest of the hotel. However, don’t go to Vegas without visiting Crystals, because at most of the stores we visited, the staff were rather amiable and of course the stores are huge so the selection is incomparable.

Dining is superb – my single best dining experience in several years was at Andrea’s at Encore, where the food is contemporary pan-asian and the décor is that of one of the chicest restaurants ever. Service is awesome and the food was uniquely delicious.

When visiting the pool, I would recommend going straight to the Adult pool as we never had any issues finding chairs there, even if the larger pool seemed to be full.

The only real con to staying here is that your legs get the better of you sometimes and you may tire of walking anywhere down the Strip beyond the Venetian and feel forced to take a cab (which can be anywhere from $10-20 including tip). However, I think it is totally worth it to stay here and this is just a minor concession.

Also, I would definitely recommend renting a car or taking a Jeep tour of Red Rock Canyon. It is only approximately 20 minutes from the Strip and has incredible scenery and no crowds if you go early (9am). Also, despite being close to 90 degrees on the Strip, it was only 75 at Red Rock, so no worries about going in the summer if it's early in the morning.

Overall, this hotel is immaculate, sports beautifully scented common areas (around the floral/garden displays), has tons of public art and shopping options, and beautiful pools. I would say the rooms, common areas, and general level of service matches (or possibly exceeds) that of the last Mandarin Oriental I visited. I would definitely recommend this hotel – you won’t want to ever leave!

Room Tip: Corner Panoramic Rooms are ABSOLUTELY worth the extra cost. Request either a high floor or south-sid...
