“Service, Service, Service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2012

This is not the place to stay if you want the full Vegas experience. It's not on the Strip, there are no slot machines in the lobby and there is only one restaurant on the premises.
That said, this is one of the most accommodating hotels I've ever encountered and the staff's service orientation is outstanding. We chose it as we weren't in for a weekend of gambling. Here's what the Hilton Garden Inn offers that most casino resorts do not: complimentary shuttle from the airport, complimentary shuttle to the Strip (Mandalay Bay) and to nearby shopping, complimentary water, coffee and pastries all day through, large, clean rooms with coffee maker, refridge & microwave, adjustable mattresses that really work, and your choice from 4 pillows on each bed. Oh, yes, and really helpful staff.
The shuttle driver, Mike, who picked up our group of four at the airport gave us a nice tour on the way to the hotel and explained all of our options for using the shuttle. We arrived way too early in the morning for a room & planned on just dropping our luggage, but the desk attendant, Richard, had a room free and he gave it to us. Imagine! The common areas are pristine - lovely pool area, good sized exercise room, spacious lobby & restaurant & a bar.
We had breakfast two mornings, dinner one evening and drinks often -- everything was delicious. Breakfast offers a full cold buffet and made-to-order hot dishes with full service from the efficient waitstaff. There's an inexpensive dinner special each night and great apps. And, Susan, the bartender, makes a great cocktail.
We visit Vegas frequently and we like staying on the Strip. Or - at least we did!

The cons: We were to leave Vegas on Saturday, but good old United cancelled our flight aver we sat on the plane for 45 minutes on the runway, and after deplaning, were told they had no other flights out that day, so they put us up at this hotel. So, here's my review of this hotel: Do not book a 2nd floor room, specifically #238 and #244 because it is one level up from the lobby, and out the window you see the roof of the lobby, air conditioning units and the pigeons who live up there. These rooms were free, we were very tired when we got there, and the view was no big deal to us, so we didn't complain. The hotel can't avoid any of the above because of the way it's built, but just try not to get those rooms! Ask for a room not over the lobby. Now the beds. They claim the beds are "special" because they are air type mattresses. They have a little dial up at the top of the bed, that you have to uncover all the sheets and covers to get to. Then you move this little flimsy dial to set what firmness you want. We had four beds between our two rooms, and let me tell you, not one of them adjusted softness. Every one of them remained "rock hard", which is fine if you like a "very firm" mattress. I asked the front desk the next morning, and they stated you need to adjust it and then give it 15 minutes before you sit on it, but really???? It never worked.

Saying all that, here's the "pros": The hotel lobby was very clean and inviting with lots of places to sit. They have a full service restaurant that was open until 10 p.m. and a little bar area. We ordered a lot of food because the airline gave us $30 vouchers for each of us, and the food was very good. The gals that waited on us in the evening, were very nice and understood a lot of us came from the airport and were stuck there, so they were very accommodating! The pool area was small with a hot tub, but looked very well kept up and nice lounge furniture. We didn't swim. the business center had 2 computers which we used the next day for no charge. Our rooms were very clean. They had a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in each room, which was very nice.

You are far from the strip, and they have a free shuttle to and from the airport, and to the Mandalay Bay hotel which is the last big strip hotel south of the strip. You can see Mandalay Bay from this hotel. Right out front is a Burger King, that you can just walk to. Next door is a small shopping area with some eateries, and further down a bit, is a Chili's, Chipotle, Panda Express, and others. If you want to be off the strip, where you can park with no problem, get a free shuttle to the strip, and have a little peace and quiet, this is your hotel!

I would definitely stay here again, IF THEY GET DIFFERENT BEDS!!!

Room Tip: Do not get a room over the lobby. See above comments.

Stayed here as a family of three adults who wanted to be near the strip but not near enough for all the noise that you find on the strip. Great free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and also from the hotel to the strip. Eriwn is one of the best shuttle drivers and will give you any information you need to know. Ask at front desk for times of the shuttle as you will need to be at certain places at certain times or you will miss the shuttle! The shuttle will also to take you to a great place called Town Square- full of shops and places to eat- about five minutes from the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel was excellent and Jenny was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. Gave us the time of day and was very attentive. Can't comment on dinner as used the hotels on the strip for dinner. The hotel had free water every afternoon- great when you have just come in from outside! They also have free cookies sometimes in the afternoon (normally when people are due to check in!). In the morning there is free take away coffee and tea during breakfast serving hours.

The hotel has a very nice outdoor pool and whirlpool and has a well equipped gym. There are plenty of free leaflets on all attractions in and around Las Vegas. If you require a safe box these are available free of charge at the front desk.

Overall a lovely hotel with great staff. Close enough to enjoy the Las Vegas strip but far enough away to enjoy some peace!

Room Tip: Pick a Junior Suite- more space and great for families. Worth the extra money.

When you are on a business trip to Vegas, and you need a quiet, comfortable, clean hotel with great comfy beds, lots of electrical outlets in the room for all those chargers, and a -- GREAT KITCHEN for those nights you just can't get out to eat, then look no further. This HGI does everything the commercials claim. And a big plus: their staff has a superior "Can Do!" attitude. Thirsty after a long day? Then Susan will fix you right up at the bar. Location Location Location -- easy on and off to the Vegas Expressways, and even the Strip for some action. Bonus: Nice pool area, and very close to Outlet Mall. I like this place so much, I'm going back next week!

Room Tip: Higher floor, no adjoining room. But honestly, noise was not an issue here.

I stayed the night of Saturday, June 2 to avoid pricey gaming hotels on the strip. What a pleasant place to stay after a long flight. Check in was a fast unlike the lines at many of the large strip hotels. Had a yummy burger at the bar. Staff was very friendly. Room perfectly comfortable and clean. Will stay there again.

My sister and I were visiting Vegas for the first time for her 30th birthday. We flew in and the complimentary shuttle was already at the airport to take us to the hotel. Our first impression of the hotel was awesome because of the wonderful and friendly driver who pointed out many things that were in walking distance from the hotel. It was so nice to have the shuttle to Mandalay Bay. Every person that drove the shuttle was so nice and helpful. It's a little further away from the Strip than I was expecting but it wasn't a big deal because of the shuttle. Everyone at the desk was great and accommodating. We didn't eat breakfast but we did have dinner the first night we were here and it was amazing, The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. This would be the first place I would try to get a room at the next time we come to Vegas

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in a junior suite, let me say that we are not big gamblers but went to L.V. as first timers looking for some gambling action. Most of the hotels at the strip were plenty full and charging almost the double for the room I paid in the Garden Inn. The location is not that great if you do not have a car, but there are hourly shuttle to Mandalay Bay hotel, which let me say really saved our vacations. Our suite was huge with wonderful views. The service provided by the staff wasn't personalized but it was very professional.

Next time I go Vegas I would stay here again without question.
