Just returned from the Cliffs 4 days ago...wow....with a friend, sister & bro-in-law..
--VERY clean rooms...uncertain who got which room and posted "dirty and needing upgrade" review but the place was immaculately clean and the furniture was no more than 5 years old (want a 5+ star and a Deluxe suite? go to the Bellagio !)
--only "sort of" complaint I would have is the lack of pressure in the bathroom sink (shower & rest all good)...tons of hot water tho !
--pool is not very big but there were always 5 or 6 kids and same amount of adults in there at same time and seemed to be enough room...bigger would give kids more place to play and adults more "float/tanning" time, but it was ok....hot tub was big and hot
--entire pool area is gorgeous....many palms, cactus' and various lush gardens..very clean area as well...they even have a lower area (2 steps down from pool) with big fireplace, bar tables and 4 bbq's for everyone to enjoy.
--staff was friendly...only 1 was a bit unpleasant about getting us a cab
--NO airport shuttle...they do have shuttle to/from the Mirage hotel(20 minute ride)...they have a set schedule but you have to reserve it to make sure there is room...1st come, 1st served.
--we rented a jeep & drove out to L.A. for 2 days but my brother-in-law stayed behind (a bit older, sore legs)...the shuttle driver checked in on him everyday & drove him to market for groceries...very nice & much appreciated !
I am confident that an airport shuttle would benifit the resort (and of course the guests)..it is a 40 some dollar cab ride.
We took a scenic/stop flight to the Grand Canyon but most excursions pk up from the "strip" hotels and not from the resorts so this also cost a cab ride to the strip (it was too early for the shuttle)...it's approx 45 to 60 $ for cab to the strip---depending on how good/bad cab driver is.
The Red Rock Canyon is a must see....very colorful, 13 mile drive thru the mountains/canyon...VERY scenic, desert as far as the eye can see....and to think the big city is just 20 mins. away !
Rented a Jeep from Fox rental....Jeep was good, will never deal with them again (that's another review) stick to the "central car rental place".
Would I not have stayed at the Cliffs, I would not have seen/experienced 1/8th of Vegas...many of my friends have stayed on the strip and had no clue the rest of the Vegas natural beauty even existed. I would definitely go back to the Cliffs to appreciate more than the hustly & bustle of Vegas and relax in the incredibly hot weather & the Cliff's pool ! Keep on keepin on, the place looks great ! Any questions, feel free to ask !

The Bad: Bathroom had ants. Cockroaches in living room. Light in closet out. AC has service button lit. Pool towels felt like wet sandpaper. Swimming pool not heated and small and shallow. Spa was too small and jets were placed in strange places. No shade in pool or spa area. Unable to enjoy until suns goes down. Upstairs guests could be heard walking and making noise. The Timeshare Presentation was the worst! They promise you breakfast, lunch or dinner and a $90 visa prepaid card if you give them $20 so you put up with it only to find out that breakfast is in a box with a green banana, a bagel, a cup of coffee, a scoop of yogurt with some granola. This is Breakfast? After 2 hours, and countless NO's to the salesperson, her boss, his boss they finally let you leave. What a nightmare!!! It's up to you if you want to give up 2 hours of your vacation for $70 and a bad meal. We will not stay here again.

Being in a desert climate, we do spray every weekend for pest control and have added extra services throughout the hotter months. Our front desk staff would have assisted you with the issues you experienced in your room if they had been reported. The pool is heated and we haven’t had any past complaints. We do have umbrellas and shady areas near the pool, but most people want to sunbathe so these areas are limited. We understand that the timeshare presentation did not appeal to you, however many do appreciate all the benefits that vacation ownership has to offer. Currently Vacation Village Resorts has over 300,000 owners who choose us as their vacation destination year after year. We do appreciate you taking the time to comment about your stay with us here on TripAdvisor. Even though you have decided not to stay with us again, we hope your experience does not deter you from coming back to Las Vegas and enjoying our beautiful city.

I would highly recommend this resort for those who want to be away from The Strip and enjoy all the comforts of home. Had a one bedroom condo on the second floor. Very spacious unit with large living area, bedroom (with walk in closet), bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, and balcony. TV's in both living room and bedroom with a wide variety of channels. Laundry and dishwasher detergent supplied along with everything else you could possibly need! Cleanliness of unit was spotless!

Shuttle service to The Strip went smooth and is about a 20 minutes drive. I would recommend renting a car as all stores, restaurants, etc are just a short drive away and a taxi from the airport is expensive from what I was told (about $45.00).

Red Rock Canyon is a 15 minute drive and is spectacular! Very beautiful 13 mile drive loop with an entrance fee of $7.00 a car. There are several hiking trails along the way which are worth getting out for. Just be cautious for rattle snakes and black widow spiders as you walk (though I never saw any).

The only negative thing I have to say is after checking in at the front desk, I had to see the concierge desk for my parking pass. The woman was quite pushy in me attending a free breakfast/lunch to promote their timeshares. I was expecting this but was not expecting her to ask if I was married or single as I felt this was an invasive question. I was traveling with my common-law spouse and felt uncomfortable with the question as the way she asked was as if she was trying to instill her personal beliefs on me. That aside, everything was fantastic.

My family and I stayed at the Cliffs the first week of July. All went well except for us being booked into and been given keys to a room that was still occupied. Other than that everything was good. On Saturday my family got up early and left for the airport for my elderly mother's return flight home. It was 6 AM . When we returned at 8:40AM we found that our room had been gone through. Not by an outside person but by "billy"in maintenance . DVD's, personal coffee maker, bottle of wine, bottles of water and an unopened card left by my mother for us to read after her depature. I promptly approached the front desk person. She asked all staff , finally contacting maintenance. The workers said that Billy had been in that room. Mind you there was no request for maintence to be there. Why would he go into our room in the morning ? We were returned the coffe maker and movies. Wine, water and card were not. We werent checked out and other personal affects were untouched. IIt was an honest mistake I was told by the head of maintenance. Thievery is what I called it. Travelers be cautious that you dont get uninvited maintence people into your room while your not there. Would not go back nor recommend The Cliffs.

My husband and I visited LV with friends for a week. At the Cliffs we had a two bedroom two bath condo. It was very clean. The furniture was a little worn, but fine. I prefer a king sized bed, but the queen we slept on was quite comfortable. The light blocking curtains in the bedroom were fantastic! However, our friends' room had three square windows across the top of the wall in their room that let in light throughout the night. It was BRIGHT in there. We bought some aluminum foil and covered those after the first night. Not pretty, but problem solved. Since we didn't go to Vegas to gamble and do the night scene ONLY, we really enjoyed this place away from the hustle. I personally preferred to gamble at Red Rock Canyon Resort and Casino and Old Las Vegas on Fremont Street instead of the Strip. The dealers were friendly and the slots seemed looser...........? Although we rented a car to get to Red Rock Canyon(hiked there twice, 15 mins from the Cliffs) and the Hoover Dam (1 hour drive), we usually took the shuttle to go to the Strip or Fremont Street. What a convenience! The shuttle leaves roughly on the hour and drops you at the Mirage. You return on the half hour from the Mirage. One night we went to Fremont street from 6:00 until 10:30 on the shuttle.
There are many great restaurants around the Cliffs. Our personal favorite was Rosemary's restaurant(elegant evening out), but Capriotti's(sandwiches) and Viva Mercado (Mexican) were excellent, as well. All of these places were within 5 to 10 minutes from the Cliffs.
The pool area was very nice and clean. We enjoyed relaxing there several afternoons. Wifi is available for $10 per day, but when my husband called the provider we received a week's connection for $50. The front desk was always helpful and cheerful. They seemed quite happy to answer any questions we had.
The only negative regarding this stay was the noise. There were several Large people who were staying above us. Lots of loud stomping that echoed through our ceiling and literally rattled the light fixtures whenever they were in their condo. Thankfully, I took along a pair of earplugs, so I managed to block out the noise at night. You might want to request a 2nd floor condo to avoid this.

Nice place to relax. Both peaceful and quite. Location is West of and away from the "strip". Plenty of shops, restaurants, and easy access to freeway (215). They could use some fun things to do on the property like having a wine and light Hors D'oeuvre reception by the pool evening of checkin. Also staff should be able to make reservations for you at the front desk if you do want to have dinner out or see a show. Staff was very responsive when something did not work in the room. Bed was small and too soft. Weather was great which was one of the things we were looking forward too.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us at The Cliffs at Peace Canyon Resort. We have very few activities here since most people spend their day on The Strip. Currently the resort is offering complimentary facials on property and they also provide special shuttle trips to the Outlets and to the Downtown area as well as The Strip. The resort does not have a concierge on property, but are able to provide excursion information at the Hospitality Desk. Thank you again for posting and we hope to have you visit us again soon.

Nice place. Carpet needs shampooing, but otherwise very clean. Furniture is dated, but clean. Nice pool. Nice location, away from the strip (20 minutes), but near lots of shopping, restaurants, and the 215 beltway which makes it easy to get places. Checkin was easy, but of course, they want to treat you to lunch if you'll listen to their spield about the timeshares. We declined, of course, as we do at all the places we stay. Lots of good golf courses in the area. Although several nearby bars have video poker machines, full service casinos are only 5-7 minutes away, including, Sun Coast and Red Rocks. Having the full-size washer/dryer was nice. Not a lot of kids at this resort. Pool was almost all adults all the time. They could use a restaurant/bar onsite. That would be nice. Internet in the condo is $50/week, or use their business center for free, but the computers are really slow. You can take your laptop to their business center and use it though for free.
