“"JW Marriott" in The House! GRAND CHATEAU...”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

What can we say? It's JW at it again and again... The name speaks for itself! Has to be one of the cleanest hotels on the strip. Reserve, quiet, professional and always willing to assist.

You will not be disappointed!!

Room Tip: The best room view is the highest level and on the front side..!

This is a very nice property. Nothing too fancy in interior decoration..but definitely very family friendly and somewhat "luxurious"..they have 2 pools - the new one on the 5th floor is usable.
What would make the property 5 star ?. Upgraded rooms ( the sofas kind of look like from a rental service )..and although the pool is great - it doesnt compare with any of the famous pools in Vegas. Even across the road they have a full size Hilton pool ( kids started complaining..can we go across the street ? ). The staff is extremely friendly and great.

We have stayed at a dozen different Marriott timeshare properties and the Grand Chateau rates high on our favorites list. Our nicely appointed two-bedroom accommodations consisted of a one bedroom unit (#2414) and a studio (#2416) with connecting interior door. The master bedroom has a king size bed, vanity and a large, deep bathtub. The primary bathroom (accessible via the master bedroom and kitchen) has a glass enclosed shower with dual shower heads. The full kitchen is furnished/equipped with everything you need for a lengthy stay. There is a fold out sofa in the living/dining area and on the studio side there is a king size bed, a fold out sofa and a limited kitchen (small refrigerator, microwave and sink). The view could have been better as our windows faced McCarron Airport, not Las Vegas Blvd..

The property is very nice. There is a small swimming pool, Jacuzzi and bar (Sky Bar 38) on the top floor. The main swimming pool and a bar & grill are located on the 5th floor. A mini-market, main bar and a fitness center are located on the ground floor. The Grand Chateau offers activities (some free, some fee-based) for all ages and there is an activity room for the kids. The hotel is conveniently located 1/2 block from the "strip" and across the street from the Miracle Mile Shops and Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino. There are no daily activity/resort fees or Wi-Fi internet access fees at the Grand Chateau - even the mandatory valet parking is free!

Our party included three generations; from seniors down to pre-school and all enjoyed their stay at the Grand Chateau.

We own a timeshare week here and this was the first time staying and we were not disappointed. The hotel is about a block and half off the Strip which is fine because it is quieter. The room is large, clean and new, it comes with a full kitchen , and washer drier. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. There is still construction going on but the only way you could tell is by the the curtains between the wings, no noise, no dust.

My only complaint is the wait at the valet can be long in the heat.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor

Thank you for the five-star TripAdvisor review! We are thrilled to hear your first stay was five-star and you enjoyed the luxury villas. The construction is finishing up soon and should be done by the end of the summer. We look forward to many more trips to come and thank you again for your review!

We stayed just one night using Marriott points here.

Overall, we were happy with the cleanliness of the property and professionalism of the staff.
The kitchen was good and good for even more elaborate meals.
The sofa bed was memory foam and top quality. We were pleasantly surprised by its quality.

The washing machine in the room was convenient but took an very very very long time to dry. I would prefer they just have good and fast machines in a laundry room rather than mini laundry units in each room that take a long time to dry.

The main drawback is the pools. The rooftop one is extremely small and almost a glorified hot tub size; the other one on floor 5 is just basic and small. While these were basic and OK, I definitely would expect more for a property describing itself as a "Vacation Club."

We traveled with our young kids and definitely prefer the Signature MGM grand which is a similar property nearby with a huge variety of pool fun for the kids. At the Chateau, the pool design definite felt like and afterthought.

I am a frequent traveler and used points, but if you're paying for the room, be sure to compare the cost of the Signature MGM property which was far more fun for kids.

There are no upgrades here, so even if you're a Platinum Marriott customer, you should still book the exact type of room you want.

Overall, good place but you should explore all your options especially if you're traveling with young kids.

Room Tip: Get a Strip view and you'll be able to see the action from your room.

We stayed here for Spring Break and can't say enough about this place , everything was top notch.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom room , room was clean well stocked and everything was in excellent condition. Location was great close to the strip but far enough for relaxing. Great place to stay.

I travel to Las Vegas frequently and have stayed on every hotel on the Strip. This time I saw a listing for the Marriott Grand Chateau online, and thought I'd try it despite it not being directly on the Strip. What a pleasant surprise. It is very close to the McCarran AIrport and two short blocks to Las Vegas Blvd.
The rooms were spacious, have a refrigerator, microwave and comfortable seating area. I love the marketplace downstairs that sells a variety of great snacks, wine, beer, sandwiches, popcorn, etc. There is a bar right by registration. It was great to check in and not have to walk miles through smoky casinos and hordes of strollers and crowds to get to the elevators.
Free valet parking ($5-10 tip) makes check in even easier. Rates will vary; I paid $389 total for two nights. I didn't take advantage of the two pools or fitness center. The hotel also has quite a few other activities available. The free wifi came in handy. Many other hotels in Las Vegas charge for wifi.
Can't forget to mention the pillows, 4 lovely, feather pillows, not the flat or overstuffed foam rubber montrosities I'm gotten at even more expensive hotels.
The Grand Chateau would be a great place for a family vacation, eat some of your meals in the room or by the pool. It's where I'll be staying the next time I go to Las Vegas.

Room Tip: The higher you go, the better the view gets.
