Marriott's Grand Chateau
Ranked #6 of 265 Hotels in Las Vegas

Reviewed 21 August 2014

We stayed at Marriott's Grand Chateau for 4 nights. Our party booked 3 rooms - two double rooms and one suite (one bedroom). The rooms are large (both the suite and no-suite) and beds are firm. The suite has a full functioning kitchen with all appliances (even a dishwasher and a full size fridge), utensils, plates/bowls/containers/silverware, cleaning supplies that you would expect from a normal household kitchen. The sitting room has a dinning table that can easily sit for six people. Besides the usual shower/tub, there is a jacuzzi as well. The regular rooms (non-suite) also have microwave oven and small kitchen. The rooms are clean and services are good. Fitness center is large and well equipped.
The only thing that is slightly inconvenient is valet parking. Even the guys are working hard, at a busy time on a busy day, you may need to wait for 10 min. In the summer, it can be a rather long wait. But that's usually rare.

Room Tip: The mountain facing rooms at high level have spectacular views.

Great 2 bedroom "villa " only a block away from the strip . This place was ideal in hindsight . A 3 minute walk away from the madness of the strip .

Don't be put off by the vacations club,in fact I'll be looking for it in the future !

The check in was smooth and had a great friendly Marriot staff member . The valet parking guys are great and the service was fast and efficient ,parking a pleasure , no craziness like on the strip.

The rooms were huge with 3 tvs and with fully equipped kitchen . The rooms were clean ,tidy and the housekeeping staff went beyond their call of duty with daily maid service.

Views were great from the 20th floor and it was a real treat to lie in bed with the curtains open looking out over part of the strip at night.

The bathroom was huge with twin showers and a huge bath . The bathroom was a bit dated but I'm nitpicking now !

A lovely pool area on the 5th floor with a great bar service .

Best value accommodation of our 3 week stay and would stay again when next in Vegas .

No casino in the hotel which is a good thing ,where the lobby is quite and relaxed . Did go to the trendy "Cosmopolitan " for some blackjack which is a 5 minute walk away .

Had a final night meal at the outback restaurant a 10 minute walk away at the coke store and would recommend it .

This hotel is just perfect for our needs- travelling with children, and my parents with special diet needs. The villa accommodations made it convenient for us to prepare breakfast and meals. Flexibility and covering many trip wishes were covered by foot- e.g., shopping the mall across the street (Miracle Mile), Playing/Gambling at Planet Hollywood Casino (right across), and walking the strip. The villas are fully stocked with amenities and staff was friendly and efficient. There is a deli/market in the hotel and it has a good inventory with reasonable prices- eggs, bacon, etc.they had everything we needed and saved us a trip to the grocery store. The only cons which is understandable being peak season: Valet service took a long time to get our car, 3 elevators were not operational. Will definitely stay here again.

I picked this place because the price was right and it seemed very un-Vegas like...which it was much to my delight. It was great to find this nice oasis of calm in among all the craziness of the Strip, so you could go out and take in all the hectic debauchery of Vegas and then retreat and reset here.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa on the 16th floor; a timeshare use compliments of one of my wife's co-workers. The convenience of a full kitchen leaves room for more options at meal times; considerable savings too. Not what you would call luxurious, with somewhat dated furnishings, but very comfy. We planned this trip for our youngest son's 21 birthday. It was like staying in an apartment rather than a hotel room. He had his own roomy space with two queen beds, while my wife and I enjoyed a master suite with king bed and private bath. Our son had his own adjoining bathroom. This roomy space also had a living room and dining space with a large table for 8. The 3 flat screen TVs, each with its own DVD player was a nice touch as well. Excellent reception and many channels to choose from with Direct TV.

But if you're looking for an inhouse casino you might be disappointed. there is none. No major issue for us. Not much option for dining either, though if you take a short walk, you're but a short ways across the street from Planet Hollywood and its huge adjoining mall and just a couple of blocks from the Las Vegas Strip. It's a little isolated, and a somewhat spooky walk late at night; like most large cities Vegas has its own street characters. But follow the crowds and all should be fine. The valet only parking is almost always quick and friendly, as well as most of the staff: Marriott demands it of their employees. In short, I'd definitely stay again.

Room Tip: I would highly recommend a villa, though rather pricey, a definite plus for just a few nights.

We had been warned that Vegas was an all-smoking-experience, so we chose MGC for its non-smoking agenda. And we were very pleased.
We were two families in a three bedroom villa in the just off-Strip location, and we had a great time. MGC has a fantastic location, it's clean, it's roomy, the staff was very friendly and helpfull - and yes it is a bit pricy. But hey - it is down town Las Vegas and it is worth the money.
We had the villa the 27th floor and we enjoyed both of the pools.
We will be returning.

Room Tip: The higher the better

We had a great week at the Marriot Grand Château! Check in was easy, concierge always ready to help with shows, tickets, directions. Walked out, down a block or so and you are on the strip. My friend and I walked it at night with no worries! Next to many conveniences and shops in case you forgot anything, but they do have a marketplace downstairs. Little overpriced but Starbucks is there.... 2 pool; we enjoyed to 38th floor pool more. Misters kept us cool while sipping strawberry daiquiris! Great kitchens, nice bathrooms... only problem was our washing machine turned our clothes a light gray color. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Our room had views of Planet Hollywood, New York and The Cromwell! 1017,1019.
