Having stayed at this property more than a dozen times I am happy to say it has always met or exceeded my expectations. Lets talk about the rooms - spacoius, clean, quiet and comfortable. Its a short walk from your parked car to the casino and ulimately the elevator and your room. In the evening there is a guard at the base of the elevator to verify room keys, I like this security effort on the part of ownership. Traveling to Vegas with young children can be a challenge so how about a bowling alley on the second floor...brilliant!! I have had the pleasure of dining in all of the restaurants, without getting into all the details lets just say I was always well fed and never felt ripped off. My favorite place to eat is the Big Sur Oyster Bar, huge portions of whatever you choose at fair prices. Best deal in the house are the 75 cent Vienna hot dogs near the sports book served from a cart by a wonderful lady that probably sells a thousand of these things a day...Yum! For the gambler, you will always find a $5 dollar table, great dealer staff brightly lit casino, so about the only thing you could want for is a nice winning streak. Oh, if you need to take a bottle of liquor up to the room in case you have not had enough free ones in the casino, hit the gift shop for great prices on booze.

Room Tip: There are a few low floors on the backside that face parking garage, otherwise its all good.

Stay: 4 nights
Room: 1474 (2 queen beds) (Deluxe Midlevel => 14th floor)

Pro:
- Very nice and big swimming pool
- Room was pretty quiet for Las Vegas. MGM Grand Hotel (8th floor) was much louder
- Big and clean room
- Close to Shopping outlets
- Very good value for money - especially during the week (only 67 Dollar)!!
- Quite area
- Cheap gambling tables if the budget is not that high - only 5$ minimum for BlackJack, 1$ minimum for Roulette even during the weekend

Con:
- Wifi costs 12$ per 24 hours.
- Breakfast not included but you can get a huge buffet very cheap in the hotel (only 7$)
- 15 minutes by car to the Strip (Hotels offers hourly shuttle buses for 8$ a day to the strip).
( For me this was actually a Pro as the Strip is cool but to get away from the crowd if you need time for yourself and relax a little bit was just great and I enjoyed it much more as in my previous stay at the MGM Grand Hotel)
- A few more shade areas at the swimming pool would be nice as it is just too hot in the sun during the day. Maybe with sunshades?

In conclusion, I would recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to stay in Las Vegas and has a car. Parking at the strip is for free in almost every hotel and you will always find a parking lot. Even without a car I would recommend it as there is a shuttle bus running.
If I come back to Las Vegas I will definetely choose this hotel again.

Comped room for one night at South Point. Checked in after 11PM so it went very quickly and front desk was efficient. Asked for and received a very quiet room at the end of a long hallway on the 6th floor. Room was very generously spaced and clean. We ordered room service and it arrived within 20 minutes.
For Poker players- If you want to play during the early afternoon, be prepared to wait for quite awhile. We waited 45 minutes for a seat on even the 2-4 limit table, even though there were 10 people on the list. Floor said he didn't want to take a chance on a table breaking, but dealer said they were understaffed.
For a quick bite we ate at the Cafe Coranado twice. The first time we both had breakfast items and it was very good. The second time my wife had the Chili Relieno and it came out soggy, even though it is a fried dish. The manager could not have been kinder, agreed with us and took the item off our bill. Very nice staff overall.
Will try it again in the future, but will definitely have a car as hotel is about 5 miles strip and the all day shuttle is not free.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the elevators and ice machines

We visited 2 May 2012 to 9 May 2012, with sister in law and her husband.

As ever smooth and efficient check in, provided with the all important discount coupon books. Then upstairs to the room. The rooms here are superb, huge bed lots of storage space, comfortable chairs and sofa. Large well equipped bathrooms with good quality toileteries.

Very clean and comfortable.

Restaurants to suit all tastes and wallets!

It was Cinco de Mayo weekend, and there was also the 'Plymouth Prowler' meeting being held there. So the hotel was very busy, nevertheless we never felt that we were having to wait anywhere and the standards of service were excellent throughout.

This visit we had time to lounge arond by the pool most mornings, again ample numbers of loungers clean towels etc.

For us this hotel has everything you could wish for, we know it's a few minutes by car from the main Vegas Strip, but who cares for this quality and price we will be back next year!

Room Tip: You can pay a little more for a room with a view, but I wouldn't bother if you want a view go ou...

If you don't mind not being on the Strip, this is the best place to stay! New, well maintained hotel, nice spacious rooms, very clean as well! One of the few hotels in Vegas that don't charge the ridiculous 'resort fee'. Free (and fast!) WiFi in the lobby, or $12.99 in room. Beautiful pool area and lots of other facilities such as a bowling, movie theater, spa. We had breakfast at the Garden Buffet twice; really good food for a good price! The rooms (we stayed on the 19th floor, pool view) were very well insulated, it was really quiet at night. It was the best hotel we stayed in on our trip from San Francisco-L.A.-Grand Canyon-Las Vegas!

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights (5/15/12-5/19/12). The price was the main reason that we decided to try this hotel. The rate for Tuesday and Wednesday was $49; $69 for Thursday and Friday. The room was very clean with a nice view. The service was great! The casino gets busy on Friday. If you are not into gambling, there is a nice pool, a move theater that shows current releases, a large bowling alley and a huge bingo hall. While we did not bowl or play bingo, they were busy areas. The only reason that I did not give it a 5 star rating is because of the location. It is not close to anything, which means that you need a car, or you will have to pay for a taxi (which is costly), or take a shuttle. The hotel has a free shuttle service to and from the airport. Unfortunately, the shuttle stops running at 9:30 PM. Our flight arrived at 10:30 PM, hence we had to pay for a taxi. The taxi from the airport to the hotel was around $35. We were able to use the free shuttle to the airport which was great. The hotel does have a shuttle to the stip, however, there is a charge. I think that the cost is around $8 round trip per person. The only problem with the shuttle is that you waste a lot of time dropping people off at casinos, and waiting to be picked up to return to the hotel. If you want to stay where all the action is, this casino may not be for you.

We were in Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament and because of the veniew we had a great time. The Hotel allowed pep rallies for both men and womens basketball teams, and accomidated us throughout the 3 days of tournament. Our room was fully equipt for our needs, the pool and spa available and clean. We have been there 3 years in a row and like this Hotel.
