We had two nights to spend in Las Vegas at the end of our two week trip to Utah. We had previously stayed at Las Vegas strip hotels before, and, since it was going to be very hot in Las Vegas (115+) and we were tired after our golfing vacation, we were looking for a hotel with everything we wanted indoors in one place. South Point has it all! The room was very large, clean, comfortable and very reasonable priced. The hotel amenities offerred everything we wanted and more. The restaurant selection was good, and reasonably priced. They give you each a coupon book on arrival, including a 50% off dinner at the Garden Buffet (surf and turf Monday night). Our excellent (too large!) dinner only cost us $8.00 each, and that included 2 free glasses of wine each! Try to find that at a strip hotel! Although we don't gamble at the tables or slots (we try our luck at the horses!), there were tables with $1 minimum. There is also a bowling alley for kids and movie theatres. They have a night showroom with various entertainment, but it was not open the two nights we were there. There were lots of families with kids there. It was too hot for us to use the pool and spa, which was large and attractive, and crammed wall-to-wall with adults and kids. They have a free shuttle to and from the strip as well as airport shuttle, which we did not need to use. Next time we go to Las Vegas we will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We were on the 14th floor with a good view. I always ask for a quiet room away from the ice and vend...

I travel through Las Vegas every summer and spend a couple of nights in town before escaping to the coast or desert scenery/national parks. Since I've seen the main strip and downtown I find the South Point a great location to stay as it's a short drive from the airport and right next to the interstate.

The rooms are spacious, well appointed and functional and I know I can rely on a comfortable stay every time. For a four star hotel the prices are incredibly good although they ave recently added a $14 per night resort fee. I always used to pay $10 for Internet access (which is now included in the resort fee) so it's not a big deal for me but, if you don't need WiFi access, it seems a bit much.

This time I arrived around midnight and I was just beaten to the hotel registration desk by busloads of tourists. The line for registration was at least 50 yards long and I imagined I might not get a room until 3AM. However, I had just flown for 5 hours and was hungry so I took my bags to the Coronado Cafe and had an early breakfast. I got a full American breakfast for just $3 (plus coffee) and when I was done eating the hotel had cleared the line and I was able to check in. Great service as always.

This is the third time we stayed at this hotel. We like it because it has nice big rooms and give you some relief from the hustle and bustle of the strip and downtown, but is close enough to get everywhere. On site, there is plenty to do for all ages... a nice pool area, bowling alleys, movie theaters, gaming, including BINGO. The food offerings are ok, but nothing to write home about. For the most part the rooms were very clean, however their was hair on the shower wall when we arrived that was not removed either of the times the room was cleaned. The beds were somewhat on the soft side, but overall pretty comfortable. There was ASAP, but we have never utilized it's services. Overall a good stay, as usual.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms near the ice machines/ vending. The machinery was on th loud side.

Vegas trip was for a wedding and having fun. All 4 to 5 star hotels on The Strip were sold out.
A family member who lives in Vegas suggested the South Point Hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised.
Extremely clean hotel, rooms were large, great view. Housekeeping was wonderful. Hotel staff very respectful and accommodating.
The Chinese food was extremely good (I am very critical of Chinese food), always concerned about salt content.
Breakfast was yummy as well. Very generous portions.
I love Eggs Benedict and was disappointed hen they served it with a slab of ham mixed with fillers but good Hollandaise sauce.
I would suggest asking them to substitute ham with whatever suits your taste buds.
The Italian restaurant was fabulous. Excellent quality food.
Casino filled with local people and hotel guests who were not dressed to the max which I personally preferred.
Why, because if you feel like a no makeup day or return to hotel and want to change into more comfortable clothing you do not feel out of place.
Hotel crowd very down to earth and friendly.
Casino drinks made with decent quality liquor.
If you get tired of gambling go bowling at the hotel.
They have a variety of entertainment to suit your taste in music.
Also felt late night hotel security was on the ball.
Felt secure when you needed to show your hotel key which security actually checked before you were able to get on elevators.

Would definitely recommend South Point and plan to stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in the 2 Queen bed room with mountain view. It was clean and beds were comfortable. I alway...

My Husband I stayed the first time in this excellent hotel in September of 2011. We chose to stay off the strip since we have stayed on the strip many times before. This hotel is excellent with everything it offers. I recommend everybody stay here. The food is great, rooms are super nice and the pool is beautiful. It has a shuttle bus which takes you to the strip for only $8 and you can use it all day. We also enjoy this hotel because it is away from the strip so its good for relaxing to, but your still not to far to go enjoy the nightlife or whatever you like to do on the strip. The price is excellent also. I recommend all my friends and family stay here also. We plan on staying again at South Point also. This hotel is also excellent for people who bring there children. The food is excellent also. They also have a free shuttle that takes you to the airport, but you have to reserve by calling front desk.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the mountain view if possible its a beautiful view.

Returning visitor...a great off-strip hotel.
Large, clean & bright rooms. Comfy beds. All the necessities, and free wi-fi.
The casino is nice (and I always win!), good choice of dining. Movie theatre, bowling alley, even the gift shop is not overpriced.
Just minutes from the strip, easy access to the freeway, in the suburbs so shopping and all amenities close by.
Fabulous staff as well.
Pool is ok...would be nice if they had waiter service, but a nice place to relax and cool off.

Stayed for 6 nights in May, had a really enjoyable time. We ordered room service one night and the food was delivered quickly and was delicious. There is a good restaurant selection, the buffet has plenty of choice. We got a great deal price wise and when we arrived they had introduced a resort fee, which was instantly waived, as it had been introduced after we booked. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The only downside was it's distance from the strip, but if you have transport, it's only a few minutes drive and you can park for free at all the casinos on the strip. The room was large and the beds very comfortable, cleanliness wise the place is spotless. I would definately stay here again. (Good views of the strip from the top floor of the parking garage!)

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the strip, on the higher floors, for the view.
