Recently my husband and I stayed at Red Rock casino resort. It was a wonderful stay and beautiful hotel and settings. Who ever the designer was they thought very carefully about the decor in this resort from the carpeting to lighting fixtures to the art work on the walls. Everything blended together. Beautiful scenery, rooms, pool area, and even the casino. It has a 16 theater in it as well as an IMAX screen. Seventy lanes, plus VIP lanes as well bowling alley. Many top restaurants, a cafe and a grand buffet that was outstanding! Plenty of shops are at the resort as well. We stayed in the VIP section in the hotel. We had exclusive elevators to the pool and lobby. The VIP lobby had fresh very hot coffee and tea and water daily. We have stayed on the Vegas strip three times and don't care for the busyness and crowding the the strip has to offer, not to mention the higher prices! We stayed at Red Rock resort for six of the seven days, because the online service we went through overbooked our stay and they had to put us up for the first night of our stay on the strip at the Monte Carlo. We were not happy and let the resort and the online service we went through that they should take care of us for our inconvenience. Well needless to say the Red Rock resort took very good care of us! They gave us a suite in the VIP section and comped us movies , meals and many more amenities! We will definitely return to this wonderful and beautiful resort!

Room Tip: We also gave $15.00 to the desk person for an upgrade on our room, well worth it!

The casino appears to be popular with locals and small groups (conventions). Its well above the standard of casinos in the Old Las Vegas area but lacks the smack of the Strip. I liked it, though was unlucky at the slots. The place has a great looking pool, a bowling alley, a food court with plenty of options, and a movie theater. There are sit-down restaurants which include a beer hall and a BBQ place, among others. Its a long way from the air port and the strip, but as far as stand-alone casinos goes, maybe the very best. I dont know about the hotel rooms.

My wife and I came here for a week. She wanted somewhere quieter than the strip where she could hang out by the pool. I get bored quickly with that so the idea was I would spend that time in the casino. The problem is that 75% of the tables are barely open. A couple craps & blackjack tables and that's about it. I wound up dumping some money into their ultra tight video poker machines out of sheer bordem. Hardly got to play much at all since the tables I do play didn't open until late afternoon. The rooms are nice, the restaurants were decent and the movie theater is awesome, but if you like playing table games do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere!

P.S. Their comp system awards no points for time spent on tables. Only slots, sports book etc.

First of all, I don't gamble, smoke or drink and I also don't spend a lot of time partying. Las Vegas trips mean 2 things to me - Business and Nature. The crowds and noise of the strip are not appealing so Red Rock's location for a conference was a pleasant change. The facilities are great though lacking much of the pomp and circumstance of the main strip casinos. I enjoy the option of parking closer to the room elevators without making the painful stroll through smoke clogged gambling areas.

The best feature of the property is its proximity to Red Rock Canyon. This area is one of my favorite outdoor locations and is only a 10 minute drive or 45 minute jog out the front door of the hotel along mostly quite streets and roads.

The relatively cheap room rates along with location make Red Rock Casino Resort a great default hotel. I didn't really have much experience with the hotel service since my time was spend outdoors or at meetings but I imagine they are as quality as most Vegas resorts.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the elevator if you don't mind a little noise. Some of the rooms are quite...

This was our 4th stay at Red Rock. We absolutely love this place. It's off the beaten path, comfortable and usually pretty quiet. This trip for us was just mediocre. We always utilize all of the amenities at the resort. We do love the casino, it's huge and we win often. The cocktail service was slow this time for some reason. The pool is big, plenty of padded chairs, the water was kind of cold, and there were screaming kids whose parents just weren't watching over them. This made our day by the pool kind of tough. You can order food and/or drinks by the pool which makes it nice. We ate at most of the restaurants at the resort. Some are good, some are not as good. There's plenty to choose from if you don't want to leave the property. The rooms are comfortable, fairly large, we especially love the views and the big bathrooms with the tub and tv over the tub ;) My only complaint this trip, and it's an important one is that we didn't feel like we were treated fairly with our room comps.... so watch out for that! We asked for a casino host to review our casino play because we were hoping for some comps but all they comped us was the rooms that were already comped. We were told that we earned 3 nights, but we had already earned those 3 nights prior to our stay so it made no sense whatsoever. We just thought that was their way of getting out of giving us anything extra. They do tend to over charge you for items you didn't purchase so check your bill thoroughly. This is a huge problem at this property and has happened to us every time we have stayed here. It's still my favorite property in Vegas. Just know before you go that the customer service is lacking. It is kind of far from the strip, we had a car so it was about 20 mins to get to the strip. We traveled back and forth to shows, etc and it's really not that bad. I can't comment on the shuttle since we didn't use it. The guys in Valet are the best employees at this property. They're so friendly and helpful.

Had a great time during out 3 night stay at Red Rock...much more relaxing than our 1st 4 nights on the strip. Rooms are awesome! Pool area is great with padded loungers...nice change from hard vinyl. Casino is large and other amenities include restaurants, bars, spa, bowling lanes, keno centre, bingo hall, large theatre complex, and kidsquest centre, as well as excursion opportunities in the nearby red rock area. Vibe here is family and/or business oriented. Service and friendliness are at a higher level than the strip. Only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating: hallways are long, no convenience store to buy amenities or liquor for the room, and only a few retail places for shopping (although I understand this will be expanding in the near future).

Room Tip: It appears most rooms have good views, depending on what you like: mountains, pool, strip. Try and...

Had high hopes. Stayed Sun - Thurs and found it to be a bit boring. Lots of locals and lots of seniors (lots of walkers). A little too quiet for my liking.

Pros: Loose slots, bowling alley and movie theater, tap water excellent to drink (no need to buy water), nice pool, shuttle to and from airport as well as from hotel to Fashion Mall, good restaurants (Rubios, Fatburger), Keno room, good buffet at great price (dinner $16.99/lunch $8.99), very clean hotel

Cons: Drink prices crazy high (go to CVS in neighborhood), no music anywhere (would've loved live band, dj anything!), infrequent shuttle times (every two hours at airport), shuttle is in terminal 1 at airport. We were in terminal 2 (Virgin America) and it took 15 mns. to get to terminal 1. You have to take a bus shuttle! Just too far away from any action, they definitely cater to locals, all staff had "We love locals" buttons (makes you feel a little under appreciated), $28/day resort fee, bingo room not very nice (were annoyed with us for asking how to play all the games), again feeling like they just wanted the locals there, $45 cab ride to strip, big gap under door so you can hear everyone in hall like they are in your room.

Room Tip: View of strip or mountains is nice. End of hall (although long) would be better since you can hear e...
