nice room and friendly staff. Most definetly worth the reasonable cost

Having frequented several of the major hotels on the strip, I found Sam's Town surprisingly good in comparison. Many food choices in fast foods and restaurants. A large Race and Sports Book which is never crowded. Many, many machines and even a large Centyry movie theater and bowling alley. Surprisingly accomodating and good for an off the strip hotel.
At first I was a lilttle hesitant staying at a hotel so far away from the Las Vegas Strip, however I was pleasently surprised. What a great stay. The hotel staff was very friendly, locals galore.... and that wasn't a bad thing. Gambling was good, if I didn't know better I'd say we won more here then anywhere else. Really! Overall the hotel was clean and you didn't smell like an ashtray when you left. Restaurants we ate in were well staffed and clean, food was good. Entertainment besides gambling was abundant. We always found a band playing in a lounge, movie, bowling or Bingo. New garage's at the back of the hotel are very well lighted and convienent to building with a walk over. We look forward to returning to Las Vegas and we would stay at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall again.
We returned from Vegas last week and still telling stories of our fun at Sam's Town. Great service, roomy room with great view to beautiful atrium and laser show, So quiet and sleep was great. Beds could use a pillow top tho to be more comfortable. Options for dining very good. The buffet food and choices were quite surprisingly good. Great promos and coupons at the front desk just for asking. We were given an upgrade to higher floor and bigger room. Fun real people without all the glitz and glam--locals were all around. Entertainment in casino was 1st rate band-South of Graceland- and had everyone partying the night away. Big Big bowling alley open 24 hours. Easy access to strip as we had car and only two turns and 8 minutes to strip! Great rates!! Stayed three nights for the price of one night on strip! We will be back without doubt!
Stayed there for a conference. Conference rooms were freezing cold, everyone complained but management refused to fix problem. Food for conf breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs in a bowl, Danishes, watermelon, and cantaloupe. Lunches: buffet style, all pre-fab food, dried out luncheon meats on a platter, stale breads. Shuttle service to airport runs twice a day only, and if the little van fills up, you're out of luck. We saw this happen to less fortunate folks than us.
We have stayed here in the past, mainly based on price and cleanliness, this visit was no different. The room was clean, no major issues. We did a little gambling (slots) in the casino which was comparable to other casinos, a bit smaller and less crowded which suited our taste. We used a coupon (buy one slice, get on free) from the one's provided at check-in for dinner at Sbarro. The pizza was average but filled the void. We then used another coupon for a free scoop of ice cream (another BOGO) which topped off dinner. The female employee at the ice cream shop was new and a bit slow, which was understandable this being her first day and working alone. All in all it was another comfortable, albeit average, stay. Would recommend Sam's Town to friends.
