“Better than last year”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

I stayed here last year and had an issue with the carpets in the halls having the same debris at checkout as at checkin. They have improved hallway cleanliness this year.
My room was a park view. It was nice to have but I would not upgrade again.
The room was clean and the carpet looked good. Furniture was sturdy and well built.
It was very quiet and I slept well.
Will stay again.

Check-in process was easy & friendly. Love the atrium. Very good for family's. The bus shuttle to downtown & the strip is very comfortable & accommodating. Food court is very good especially for family's. TGI Fridays & the resturants was good. We love it at Sam's town. Very relaxing but still have all the gambling, bowling, movies & Resturant all in one place.

Stayed at Sams Town on October 27, 2013 and was my first time staying here. Booked a king bed basic room for 43.00 (including the resort fee) . Check in was easy and when I went to check into my room I was very surprised at what I found. They had me staying in a very large 3 room suite with a bar, living room, Jacuzzi tub and awesome large bedroom. I was very leary of this and went back to the front desk to inquire as to if there was a mix up and they put me in the wrong room (I did not want to check out and then find out that I was charged 200.00 plus for the suite). I was told that they were sold out of the basic rooms and they upgraded me to this room at no extra charge. This was on fantastic room. The bed was as comfortable as I have slept on before, the shower and Jacuzzi tub worked great and this suite was a lot bigger than most one bedroom apartments I have been in. SUPER clean room as well and it was so quiet. each room had it's own thermostat which was nice. I couldn't not have asked for a better room. The buffet at night was great although we had to wait one hour in line before being seated. My only complaint with Sams Town was the casino itself. There were very few waitresses walking around and asking if you wanted a drink. The machineswere VERY TIGHT and my friend and I did not hit anything close to a decent payoff. I talked to a lot of locals and they said the machines do not pay off very well in Sams Town ( wondered why they were there then). Other than the horrilble pay offs in the casino I would rank Samstown very high. Next time I go to Vegas I will stay here and take there suttles to the downtown or strip areas.

I have stayed on the Strip many times, and was just burnt out from the expense and the distance to get from one place to another. I started staying Downtown, and found it to be cheaper and better. I was starting to get a little bored with going there, so I decided to try something new. I came across Sam's Town and started reading up on it. For the most part, I was pleased with what I read, and just a little worried about some of the bad reviews. So I ended up just going for it, and booking a trip.

Just want to start off saying we took a cab from the airport to Sam's Town, since there are no shuttles. It cost about $30, and it's a short trip.

We arrived early to Sam's around 10AM. Vic at the front desk was so wonderful! He was able to put us in a room right away. And also, anytime he saw me during my stay, he'd always make sure I was pleased with everything. Vic was a great employee that Sam's should be very proud of.

We went to our room, and I was happy with it. No, it wasn't fancy like a Bellagio or Venetian room, but it served it's purpose. There was a nice flatscreen t.v. that had all your basic channels, news channels and channels like USA and TNT. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy. I loved all the counterspace provided in the bathroom.

We were given free breakfast buffet passes to use each day for our stay. The buffet is a great value. Food was good, but basically the same things served each night. That's fine. There were other places to eat such as TGIFridays, Subway, McDonalds, Sbarrao, Panda Express, A Mexican Restaurant and a steak house. Just an FYI....If you go to see a movie at the movie theater located in Sam's, present your stubs the same day at TGIF's and you will get buy one, get one free meals. That was a nice deal. And also, you can present your movie stub to the Bowling Alley in Sam's to get a free game of bowling the same day. Sam's has nice little giveaways like that which I appreciated.

I did go see a movie, and it is a regular multiplex movie theater. Impressive that it was right on the site of Sam's. Off the casino floor actually. I checked out the bowling alley, and that too was nice. I really enjoyed that Sam's offers other things to do, besides gambling, and it's all located in their casino/hotel. There really is no reason to have to leave at all.

I did venture out a few times to a super Walmart right across the street. It was nice to know that anything I may have forgot to pack, I can just buy at Walmart. You can walk right over there.

I spent my days at the pool. Since it was October, I'm assuming that's why it wasn't crowded. The pool was heated, and they played the music you heard in the casino. Just wanted to make a note that the music Sam's Town plays is such a nice variety of music for all. There were always fresh towels provided for their guest to use and the bathrooms by the pool were always clean.

We did try our hand at Bingo a few times there. There's a bingo room that has games every 2 hours. My only complaint would be that the ladies who work in the Bingo part are nasty. They assume everyone who comes to play knows everything about Bingo. And if you should ask them questions, they look at you like you have 5 heads. They were very intimidating. We got help from the people who were playing and sitting near us.

Overall, I found this place to be so relaxing. No hustle and bustle with big crowds like the strip. All of the staff, except for the Bingo women, were absolutely fabulous! I played the slots and found them to be much loser then the strip and downtown. I actually won a few hundred dollars. I had the best vacation staying at Sam's and will definitely be coming back! Anyone hesitating coming here, should try it. You won't be disappointed.

Cannot fault my 2nd trip to Sams Town

The room was spacious and all staff in the hotel and casino and restaurants really care about customer service

It is 20/30 mins off strip but then driving from 1 strip to another and walking through the 2 hotels can take 1/2 an hour!

over the road is a 24 hr Walmart and 2 mins away is the longhorn casino where you can get a (small) stake dinner for $6.99

The pool does not look fantastic but actually it is really good - they pipe the music in from the casino and it is great mix of 80/90's classic rock and pop. The pool is heated just right and there is a lovely hot spa. It says open from 10am to 8 but they opened it at 9 which was good as it was hitting 80 degrees (late oct). Thought the Sun is blocked by the cinema by about 2pm/3pm

Lots of eating choices where again all the staff were excellent. The buffet is good value with the players card (if it were on the strip it would be double the price)

The area around is not the best but there were loads of security around the property and certainly no problem driving in and out as the garages are very handy

I had jet lag and was up early so the 24hr Walmart and then breakfast at 6am at TFI Fridays was excellent (the sports deli looked like they do a good all night breakfast for 4.99

overall if you want a cheaper option than the strip but good quality food and room then this is really worth the slight detour (good for families too)

If you like the noise the crowds the porno finger snappers then don't stay here. Low key clean great service good food and just darn nice people. Free shuttle to Freemont or the strip. They say this is "locals casino" and I understand why. Not over the top style strip hotel/casino. My only complaint is I lost money. Hmm

This off-the-strip hotel offers really good value. The rooms are pretty basic, but clean. The food outlets offers something for every taste from fast food)McDonald's, Panda, Subway) to TGIF and a steak house. Try to avoid the rooms facing the Mystic Falls because the "show" is LOUD until 10pm.
