Stayed in a king bed room overlooking the parking garage. Used soap and open shampoo bottle still in the bathtub from the previous guests ~ I should have complained. It did make me think that the tub had not been cleaned at all. Also a little ticked at the "hotel fee" of $4.50. A little steep on a $29.99 advertised room rate. Why not just add it to the rate?

See the free water show both during the daytime and at night with the lights. They also salute our military personnel. Rooms are clean and spacious. And I can't say enough about the friendlyness of the staff: at the front desk, on the casino floor, in the restaurants, the room attendants. Everyone had a smile and readily not only answered your question, but if you were looking for some place, they actually walked along with you and visited along the way. It was quieter than the strip casinos

My Heavens if anyone out there would love a great stay and lots of fun just go to Sams Town Hotel and Gambling, My experience there was so wonderful. It takes your breath away just to walk into the Atrium and see the water show and the animals, See the Waterfall and the Laser show. and relax as it all takes place, Just to see the animals as they have made them is exciting and truly quite an experience. Being in Las Vegas at the other Hotels I have come to love Sams Town the most and would rate anything from the Casino to the Rooms to the Food which is great and the Atrium as nothing but Excellent, Excellent. The Casino is so huge and you have your pick of any machine as there are so many. Thank You for making my stay in Las vegas such a memorial experience. I will be back for sure, and hopefully longer next time, Thank You Carolyn Rhindress-- Edmonton, Alberta Canada and Mary Alexander--- Cambridge Ontario We are sisters who were there together,

This hotel was chosen because it was close to a family activity and the trip was short (2 days). It is many miles (and stop lights) from the strip. The rooms are small and very outdated -- tiny televisions, etc. They also are noisy from the free laser show that occurs many times per night. There is no internet access. The pool is small and mostly shaded. It is also in a dangerous neighborhood (I was advised by the bell man to get a newspaper from the front desk, as it was "safer" that going to a Walgreens a block away). The good points -- there is a 24 hour grill that has great food at very reasonable prices. Also, the pay scales on the video poker machines are far better than those at any strip casino. There is an ice cream parlor (although it closes early) and a modern multi-screen theater on site. If you avoid spending much time in your room, this hotel is a good deal.

Sam's Town is Great! It has a beautifully maintaned bowling alley with $1.00 shoes and games after midnight, a 24-hour deli with great food and value (except the 50 cent charge for a to-go container is pretty ridiculous), a decent buffet for the price, a nice gaming floor, large & comfortable rooms, and more. The pool looked good but we did not swim as the weather was a bit windy and cool (Early April) as it always seems to be that time of year.

The indoor "park" has waterfalls, rocks, and vegetation and really looks and feels like being in nature. The laser light show at 2, 6, 8 & 10 is wonderful and very patriotic. Funny thing is that since Vegas has so much to do, we only finally took in the laser show on our last night there. It is a must see! The hotel staff were excellent and accomodating. The dealers were very friendly. Overall we had a great time. I wish I could say that everyone we encountered in Vegas were as top-notch as the people at Sam's Town, but they were not. I will review other places we visited as well.

The hotel set-up is a bit hard to navigate when going from the parking garage to your room but you might get the hang of it as we did. Basically floor #3 from the parking garage elevator is the same as floor #2 in the hotel elevator. You must have your room key to access the hotel in some areas but none is needed to use the ice machines.

Although the weekday room prices were great, beware as they do add a $4.50 service fee for each day. Wi-fi is also $10.00 for a 24-hour period. And, of course, 50 cents to get a to-go container to take your deli food to your room (really crazy). But hey, it is Vegas where they are experts at getting your money.

The location is on Boulder Highway away from downtown and the strip but it is an easy 10-15 minute drive to just about anywhere in town. There is a super Walmart across the street which was nice to get snacks and drinks at. Also, the local gas stations seem to have some of the lowest in Las Vegas. Basically Sams Town has some residential areas around it and a lot of the locals go there. I even gambled along side some dealers from other casinos who were in Sam's Town on their day off.

Although I did not go to the bars, the music sounded great from the one. It was a western band.

Overall I love Sam's Town and will always opt to stay here away from the crowds of the strip and in a safe-feeling, enclosed "town." Since there was so much we could have done at Sam's Town, I was almost disappointed that we were gone so much doing stuff in the greater Las Vegas area.

If you want a comfortable & home-town type, anti-glamourous Vegas experience, then go to Sam's Town. They do make you feel right at home.

We are in Las Vegas just over night about four times a year. We drive to Las Vegas stay over night and my husband puts me on a plane back home. He doesn't fly so he continues driving to visit relatives near by. In a few weeks I fly back and we stay over night and drive home. We have stayed on the strip. Big bucks. We have stayed downtown. A fun place.
But this trip we found Sam's Town. Everything one would need or want is there. No need to go anyother place. Several places to eat inside. Large
casino. Great rooms. The inside looks like a town in it's self. Also has shuttles to the strip and downtown. We would recomend this place to anyone looking for a great room and great place to stay. There is a $4.50 service charge over the price of the room, but it was still a great bargin.
