“Bad reviews are WRONG!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2010

All those bad reviews are wrong. I was scared to stay at the Planet Holly after reading all the bad reviews. They are WRONG. Check in was quick and they had people working every station. The desk staff was polite also. The rooms are a little dark, but spacious, and very clean and comfortable. I would kil for a bathroom as huge as this one. Only negative is not much clothes storage space, but we just lived out of the suitcases.
The casino is noisy and something happening all the time. Spice market buffett is good, but do your self a favor and visit Pampas the Brazilian steakhouse in the Miracle Mile, just be sure to bring your appetite.
Can't beat the location on the strip, and if you don't want to self park and walk all the way throough the mall, valet parking is free. Of course a tip when retrieving the car is appropriate, but the valet parking saved us many steps.
I stayed here when it was the Aladdin and Planet holly wood has definetly changed things up. I migt stay elsewhere next time, but only because I have been here 4 times. Then again, maybe I wouldn't. The miracle Mile mall is a plus with all the restaurants in it, and you never have to go outside to reach them.

Just back from Las Vegas 5 nights at Planet Hollywood. We had a lovely time and quite liked our hotel:

Check in wasn’t too bad, big que but wasn’t too long a wait.

Room: Very big, modern style, two king beds, big bathroom with nice shower and bath tub, big flat screen TV. All in all it was cosy and comfortable only draw back was the lighting – was quite dark and the closet space was quite small but maybe we felt that being 3 girls!? Our room didn’t have a fridge but we called and asked and within 10mins someone brought us one!

Concierge was fantastic helped us out with almost EVERY query we had and gave us some good deals on shows.

Shows: we watched Peepshow with Holly Madison which was quite good – enjoyable we felt for both men and women.

Mystere (Cirque du Soleil) this was pretty cool to watch with all the acrobatics but we didn’t quite understand it – lol no real story line that we could work out?!

Grand Canyon we also booked via the concierge. We did the pink tour bus which was pretty cool pink trucks quite comfortable come to pick you up. It’s a smaller group compared to any of the other tours which we liked. Our tour guide was especially nice and chilled out. The Canyon is amazing and a total MUST if your in Vegas!

Food: We did the buffet deal £39.99 where you can eat buffet style at 7 restaurants on the strip. We did breakfast at Planet Hollywood which was YUM! Tonnes of choice. Hotels Planet Dailies was YUM for breakfast & lunch – French toast was my favourite! There burgers were especially yum to. Earl’s sandwiches were quite good we loved the egg & cheese for the morning. There are so many choices of places to eat on the strip and in miracle mile though so make sure you get out and about to. Blondies in Miracle Mile has lovely fish and chips its waitresses are in cheerleader outfits and you could tell it’s a good place to watch sport whilst eating.

Definitely go to Fremount street just to see the old Vegas, the light show is pretty nice. Ace and Deuce buses go there, $3 single trip or $7 for all day.

Pool – on the 6th floor – there are 2 pools and its really nice, can get to be quite a good party atmosphere but as its on the top of a building the sun can disappear behind the gigantic tall buildings around the hotel but this is only really an issue in the morning otherwise it was lovely and hot/sunny came back with a bit of a tan!

There are a lot of Mexicans with XXX cards they didn’t bother us too much being girls but they make annoying sounds clapping the cards together and try to offer you them – just ignore them.

Also the club touters entice you will all these leaflets and vouchers/armbands for clubs etc and then ask for money for it as a “tip” don’t bother...

Coyote Ugly in New York New York was a major disappointment! We loved the movie and expected an imitation but we found hardly sexy girls not even what you could call “dancing” on the bar just shaking their wobbly bits. The drinks weren’t good either. Malibu and coke tasted watered down and vodka red bull was as my cousin put it ‘POISON’!

Oh forewarning BRING COMFY SHOES! We walked and walked (major work on the first day) and our feet hurt so bad the rest of the week – our feet were swelled and we didn’t fit into our other shoes and sandals we brought! So def pack good trainers I’d say because my feet ached and I was wearing soft pool flip flops.

Although the weather was hot and lovely outside.........bring cardys.........lol...FOR INSIDE! The casinos in EVERY hotel were freezing, restaurants and the mall to! They totally up the anti with the air con!

Oh also take ID with you EVERYWHERE (we got asked for ID when buying and food)

That pretty much sums up our hol and time at Planet Hollywood.

What's with the noise pumping out of every corner of public space?! As one guest summed it up- He jumped out of the elevator and said "ahh, piece and quiet". You don't need LOUD music to make a place fun. Just good music and alternate with some quiter public places. Other casinos do it. Other than that - room was great! Beds comfortable. Buffet was good value. We liked the easy access to magic mile shopping. When (if) this mall links directly up to Paris LV I that will be amazing. If you have small children suggest a quiter hotel that doesn't require you to walk through casino part ot get from A - B. e.g Paris LV or Bellagio

My husband and I (seniors) recently stayed at this hotel. We were in LV for pleasure and business a few days for my husband. Spent 6 nights. The room was very nice and was made up promptly each day without having to call housekeeping. Very little closet and drawer space which was the only thing we didn't like about the room. Comfortable bed and lots of pillows. Very clean. Even a coffee pot - unusual for LV rooms. Great rate of $69 during the week. Hallways were not cluttered with room service dishes, but clean and neat.
The casino and even in front of the building had LOUD music all the time. That was annoying. Shopping was very accessible without going outside. Pool area was ok - nothing special. (families with kids would find it boring) Rather confusing to find your way around in the casino - could use more signage. Lots of young (20's) adults around.
Overall, we liked Planet Hollywood. The location was fair, for where we wanted to go and gamble. Too many slot machines of the "video arcade" type; seems like most casinos are going that route.
Next trip we would stay a few blocks further north near Flamingo, Harrah's, Mirage area.
Great buffet - our favorite in LV.

After reading all the bad reviews this hotel was getting almost changed my reservation, but glad i didnt.
Firstly check-in was very quick without any delay as i had expected by so many reviews...
All staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very large and the bathroom massive. The beds were so comfortable, but i do agree the lighting could have been better. The hotels location was fantastic and even though the whole place is buzzing we didnt hear a sound when we were in our room. Idont think it matters what age you are as there were young, old and in between no-one was out of place.
Glad to have stayed at PH and would stay there again without a doubt!!!!

I just want to start with saying the bad reviews I read before going were absolutely wrong. They must have either been rival hotels or just grumpy people in general. The hotel check in line was about ten people deep when we got there, but it went by very quickly. The rooms were very good and spacious. My wife and I had a room on the 6th floor right next to the pool and had no problems with noise from the pool. I read a past review that said the walls were very thin and the rooms were noisy, but they weren't noisy at all...maybe if someone was standing at your door talking loud, but that's it. The casino was great and the craps tables are a blast. I can say that PH has one of the most lively and enjoyable casinos on the strip. We went around to all of the big name hotels and only really thought a few were better than PH. The new ARIA looked great and Caesars Palace's casino was pretty cool, but the Hotel is very busy all the time. The shops at PH were pretty good and the restaurants inside the mall were great. Go to the little mexican place inside the shops next to the Strip Bar. Buying the 24 hour buffet pass for like $35 is a pretty good deal for one time but after a day of the buffets your ready to move on to something else. We did go see one show while we were there. We went and saw "O" at the Bellagio. It was my first show in Vegas and I wasn't that impressed. There were some cools things in it but the show was way to long. It lasted just over two hours and I lost my interest about half way through. All in all the Hotel was great and well worth the money. However if you go on a weekend just be prepared for massive crowds in every singe casino and hotel. We left on a Saturday and were thankful were stayed during the week because the crowds were getting a little ridiculous. For you golfers, book your golf online and get huge discounts. We played at the Legacy Golf Club for $25 per person with $25 for club rentals. The course was amazing! Have fun!!

Stayed at Planet Hollywood May 15 -19th. Check in took less than 5 minutes (unlike many reviewers). Due to Ms America, they had no non-smoking rooms so they gave us a comp mini fridge. Smoking room had no smell of smoke whatsoever! Rooms are average for Las Vegas although they are very dark (which is good if you are sleepking during the day). The crowd in the casino is very young and sometimes annoying...very, very drunk and LOUD. Overall had a good stay at Planet Hollywood.
