“Try to get past the smoky atmosphere!”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

I have stayed here about 6 times. Each time I forget how bad the smoke in the casino is mostly in the evenings/nights. There are non-smoking floors where you can stay and that is what I have always done. The room is clean, beds clean and comfortable. The bathtub needs some updating, but the bath itself is overall good...granite sink and such. There is only one chair and one desk chair so not much comfort but I guess you are supposed to be gambling or swimming! There isn't a spot to review the Kixx bar in this hotel lobby, but it is worth stopping by and grabbing a drink (or several) and watch their big screens. The Friday and Saturday night live music is pretty darn good too. If you happen to get Cindy as your waitress, you are in for a treat! She is lovely, sweet and unlike several cocktail waitresses you frequently get, she truly enjoys chatting with you. Don't say anything wrong to her though, she is married and her hubby is right outside at the valet parking! LOL Give Boulder Station a try if you need to be in Vegas for something other than the Vegas Strip life.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for non-smoking floor!

Check in - only 1 person at the reception desk when we checked in. The discount cards are only good if you get their players card.
Room - suite on the 16th floor. Nice king size bed and big room. Suggestion - the hotel should add a refrigerator and microwave in the room. View of the mountains and the strip are terrific. Great security at the room elevators, need your key card to get up to your room.
Like most Las Vegas hotels the casino stinks of cigarette smoke. Suggestion - have separate smoking and non-smoking areas.
Restaurants - the buffet is too close to the casino so we cold not eat there and enjoy a meal. Had take-out from the cafe and the food was good and large orders. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
As I said mostly good but there could be improvement.

Stayed @ Boulder Station 1/10/14 overnight. Booked on Priceline and it was fairly cheap. Rooms spacious, bed linens are thin so it was hard to keep warm without cranking up the heat. Carpets thru out the halls are dirty. The Priceline description was free internet (and it was free) EXCEPT we had to pay an additional $14.99 for "amenity fee". The Priceline description said a 15% discount on the amenity fee. We were tired and just wanted to get home so didn't argue.
They do give out lots of coupons but you have to buy something and they are only good for one person in the group. We had stayed at Sunset Palace before and thought this one would be just as nice but it's not. On the positive side they had a huge parking lot and the little Mexican restaurant was fairly cheap and served huge portions of food.

We were looking for a good room rate for an overnight before a flight out of a Vegas. The hotel was clean and reasonably quiet though there's a freeway close by that you can hear. Wireless is free but a bit slow. It says they will charge you $5.99, but it's included. Lots of free parking.

We stayed at Boulder Station on New Years Eve and were disappointed almost from beginning to end. The rooms were not clean and sub standard for even being off strip. The service was terrible. Their players club was a joke, raking up lots of points but get nothing for them. They were going to give us 12.00 cash before departure but their system was down and so didn't get even that much. Couldn't tell about the food as the lines were so long due to the holiday which of course can't really fault them for, probably means maybe good food. The machines were tight and couldn't even play alittle. Bad experience at least for us. We will find somewhere different next time. Try to call front desk and was on hold for like 15 minutes , first time we ever stayed at a hotel that has to come check your room before you can check out...this adds to check out time. Less than satisfied and won't be back! The cocktail waitresses all seemed be in bad moods guess cuz they were working on New Years Eve, we did however, get a glass of champagne to bring in the New Year, whoopee!

You should consider an additional 15$ per night for service fee! They said that this is for internet and phone call!!! We didnt use these services but they forced us to pay for each night!!! We talked to manager ( he was not friendly ). He just talked about their policy and said you should pay this money even if you do not use internet!!!
I do not recommend this hotel ...

I have stayed at Boulder Station several times over the years. I recently visited again and once again was not disappointed. The rooms are all updated and always clean. I like the closeness to the strip without paying the higher room rates there. This hotel/casino has everything you need from valet parking to a reasonably priced delicious buffet!
