I stayed at this hotel from Aug 10 - 14. I usually do book at the sister property Main Street Station but decided to give the California a try. Upon entering the room I was shocked at how small it was compared to the Main Street Station. The carpet was a bit worn out and should be replaced. The washroom was so small you could barely move around. I do like how the sink outside of the washroom had a wall to divide it from the bedroom to ensure some privacy. The beds really need to be replaced and were not comfortable at all. The lightening is good in the room and the air does work but needs to be left on for awhile.

The washroom was not cleaned properly as I did see quite a bit of hair on the floor from the last guest as well as in the bathtub.

I don't think I will book at the California again. I would go back to the Main Street Station as these rooms are a lot bigger.

We decided to add one more night to our week long stay. We checked our offers and had a comped room here. The check in clerk was rather a short with us, but got us checked in and sent on our way - to the room at the very end of the hall on the ninth floor. It was fine though as it was comped, clean and the bed was a bit more comfortable than our bed we had at Main Street Station during our stay last year. We were surprised to find they have a rooftop pool. They also have in room refrigerators which would be nice if they work. Ours didn't. Again it wasn't a big deal though because we were only there for one night. Cocktail service was very slow in the casino. It was nice to walk back and forth between Main Street and the Cal without having to go outside. They aren't that far off of Fremont either. We would consider staying here again if we were staying downtown.

Stayed here 7 nights in early August 2014. It's basic, clean, friendly, and in a good downtown location.

For the prices they charge, can't really complain. The room has everything you need: frig, hair dryer, TV, alarm clock, and iron. Internet for a fee of $9.99 per day per device. Hotels in VEGAS, for the most part, charge for internet! On the strip, the big name hotels charge a mandatory daily fee of $20-30 for internet, water, newspaper, and basic gym usage.

This hotel is connected to Main Station Casino/Hotel so you have more restaurant and slot machine choices!

Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was ok. Our family of four just needed a one-night stay for a Sat night in Las Vegas -- it served the purpose, couldn't have handled any more days. The room was clean, a bit dated, and nothing special. The check-in process was efficient and quick. The casino was small, and drinks in plastic cups are a pet peeve of mine and reflect on the quality of the casino. The first dealer I had at a blackjack table continually yawned -- chronically, over and over. That kind of killed the mood, even while winning. The ice cream shop in the concourse was good, but other shops and amenities on site are lacking. The hotel pool was tiny, and worse than you'd find at a typical chain hotel off of an interstate -- that was hugely disappointing for the kids.

We had boked at The Mainstreet Station. They were overbooked. They sent us over to their other hotel, The California. Was hesitant at first. But they more than made up for the overbooking and inconvenience of having to go to another hotel. This room was amazing. And not only did they give us a luxury sweet, they discounted our rate. very impressed with how they dealt with things all around.
