“This place is full of contradictions.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

We arrived on a late evening flight. Exhausted after a long 12 hours of travel. No tater what our reservation guarantee, none of it is honored because the hotel assigns rooms on a first come first served basis. So we decided to try a courteous approach to get an upgrade. no rooms available except smokers floors. The clerk promised us a room the next morning by eleven. The hallway on eleventh floor was disgusting the smell of smoke overwhelmed us.
The room was filthy, bathroom too dirty to use. Bed was comfortable so I tried to sleep. Next morning I woke up very sick with asthma. We were determined to leave but within minutes we were moved to another floor. Clean, non smoking. Right behind the elevator, no view. No problem. Beautiful clean room. We never heard noise from the elevator bank for the rest of the week. It was like ANOTHER hotel.
This hotel has a so-so noisy casino. We chose other places to gamble. Beautiful pool, and Margaritaville restaurant is a great experience. Steak house good. Food court good. Good breakfasts. Weather was so hot . We decided to eat most of our meals in or near our hotel.
I would definitely return but I would arrive on a much earlier flight.

Room Tip: Arrive early to get the best room assignment. Somehow the room choice is not guaranteed even though...

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. The Flamingo is like home away from home. The Casino is excellent and the rooms are wonderful. The Spa is a real treat. The restaurants are friendly and priced very reasonable.

If you travel to LV to visit casinos, shows and do not plan on staying much in your hotel room this could be a good choice for you. Hotel is in a huge need of attention and reparation. The food was not fresh also average and I had hard time choosing what to eat. However we enjoyed abeautiful view from the balcony. We also enjoyed our time in casino but next time I would rather choose a better warmer place.

Had a wonderful time. The High Roller was breath-taking, especially at night.
A lady of ninety years actually won the Wheel of Fortune for over a million. I was very happy for her. Maybe, I will be the next lucky one.

Good value, good location. Buffet during the week was not that good but tropical breezes cafe was good every time I ate there. Bartenders at 5 o'clock somewhere bar were excellent. Poker room was surprisingly good.

This hotel is sadly in need of a lot of close attention. The elevators are close to being a safety hazard. The rooms (even the recently updated ones) are of a low quality. And the all pervasive smoke in the air is inexcusable. The only good quality of the room we had was the bed. They did make a good selection there when they did the renovations. Why they would go with such low quality flooring, poor decorator choices and keep 30+ year old furniture and not even touch the bathroom when supposedly updating, I don't understand. The carpet in the hallways is stained and practically worn through in places. The elevators shake, and make horrible noises. If more than 4 or 5 buttons are pushed, they all cancel out! Few even seem to be working! There are huge banks of elevators, but only 3 or 4 seem to work at any time. there is no sound proofing- you hear everything in the hallway, the rooms across the hall, and next to you, and even on the 27th floor, we heard the music from the clubs/pools until the wee small hours of the morning. Even though we were on a 'no smoking' floor, my husband had to put a damp towel across the bottom of the door to keep out the smoke!
This hotel comes across as a Vegas version of a 'no name' motel in Podunk city that is about to be condemned.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any good choices.

I like the way LINQ was done, excellent. It used to be so dark in that area, that you were afraid to even venture. Now it is so vibrant and the High Roller is a great addition to the place, although I didn't try it, I will do so in the next visit.
