4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

The Flamingo was a good stop on the way to California for vacation. Recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a centralized casino on the strip. Hotel staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. The casino staff is also nice and engaged in nice conversation while gambling. Overall a good experience.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times in my trips to Vegas, it's always been average except in 2010 when I upgraded to a "GO" Room for additional cost and it faced the strip. Was a nice room and had definitely been renovated. So this time I was going down for my 40th birthday with my friends and decided to get a suite. The one they had available was their "mini-suite". I had called and asked if it was a strip view and the gentleman confirmed I could get one. I had six others who booked two other rooms as well. Upon check-in I asked if I could get a Strip view and of course I wanted my friends on the same floor and nearby. But apparently they had some "highrollers" in that day and I wasn't given the strip I had asked for but instead, a pool view. Which was fine because my friends got rooms on the same floor.
Now I'm in a so called "suite" so you'd think I'd have all the amenities that come with it. But NOPE! No alarm clock, no docking station, the bathroom cabinetry looked very outdated and unkempt. Not what I expected for paying for a Suite. My friends rooms were better than mine and I had a so called "suite".
When I was leaving and asked the lady if that side of the hotel or tower had to be renovated still...she said to my surprise "they are REBURBISHED". I was in awe!! They had already been "upgraded" Needless to say I will not be staying at Flamingo anymore.

Oh and the WiFi on my side of the tower was very very weak even though it was free. I was better off using my own data.

Room Tip: If you choose to stay here, think about upgrading or getting an complimentary upgrade to a GO room...

Green Features: The hotel is in the perfect location across from Caesars. so much around it to see and enjoy. The hotel's environment is great. The rooms...not so much.

The noise pollution must be have better solution. Suggested that their
management staff have a self-test for how serious of the noise pollution
make by the loudly music boomer from ground floor. We are really affected by the terrible noise which made us sleepless at all.

Stayed here in the past (approximately 5 years ago) and don't recall any issues with that stay. However, this stay proved to be very disappointing. We were to have the FAB Deluxe room that was supposedly remodeled. Our room was far from FAB or "deluxe" and certainly didn't seem remodeled. The bathtub faucet had a continuous leak. The furniture in the room was all scratched up. Most striking was how dirty the room was. Housekeeping seemed poor. We immediately noticed black hair all over the bathroom floor, sink and bathtub. There were stains on the sheets and pillow cases. Windows and mirrors were dirty too. Elevators were missing buttons and seemed unstable. One elevator was stuck on "27" all the time, no matter what floor you were going to. Felt like it was a gamble just to ride up in them.

To top it off, the staff were not friendly or helpful when questions were asked. Very rude experience at check in. One of the most annoying features at the Flamingo were the two desks that had very aggressive people who continually approached you throughout the day & night. They were soliciting for interest in timeshare presentations. I believe we were approached 15 to 16 times during our short 3 day stay. Drinks overpriced at the pool and difficult to find a spot at the pool.

The few positives we did enjoy were the buffet (nicely priced and great variety) and friendly wait staff in the Paradise garden. We also LOVED the Legends show that is performed at the Flamingo. As in the past, we love the central location of the hotel which was the prime reason we wanted to stay here.

Biggest regret was bringing another couple with us (first time to Vegas) and having them stay at this hotel. We were really embarrassed of this first impression to Vegas. Especially, the lack of customer service, the poor welcome and the uncleanliness of the hotel. Even if I was offered a free stay here, I would refuse. The downtown remodeling of the Plaza and the Golden Nugget seemed to have far outpaced and exceeded the quality and charm of this hotel.

We chose Flamingo Casino to stay because of the wonderful time we have had there before and especially the pool. This visit was not the same. The casino property, including the rooms, were extremely worn and dirty. The elevator to our room was very old and filthy. The room was dirty. We were even unable to see out our window it was so dirty (like someone with a squeegee had tried to clean it but only smeared the dirt so you could not see out. The pool area was not clean either. The music was so loud it was disturbing. The young people there used four letter words the entire time. This place was so bad, that we requested, and received, and move to another Harrah's Casino.

Really disappointed with this hotel. I stayed in a fab deluxe room which was clean but very very basic. In its defence it doesn't sell itself as a family friendly hotel but it really isn't so unless you are young single party goers give it a miss. Service terrible throughout the hotel and facilities. Very pleased to have hardwood floors in my room as the carpets throughout the hallways look like they have been thrown up on a thousand times.

The main pool which is a big selling point of the hotel can only be used by adults which was really disappointing - but we could have found that out if we went online so my bad. Kids pool very small and lack lustre by comparison.

Had my nails done onsite - more terrible service and a big rip off $70 for shellac repaint. Ate in one of the eateries and staff were rude.

Beware Flamingo likes to charge you for EVERYTHING. Charges for wifi, charges to print etc

Were planning to staff for an extra few days after a trip to the grand canyon but instead checked into the Excalibur which was way cheaper and much better rooms/service (albeit not as central as Flamingo).

Room Tip: get a high a room as possible. saw a Go room that didn't look too much better than our fab delux...
