“Second visit as great as first”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Love their pools & lazy river, which is what drew us to MGM Grand both times we have stayed there! Wish it stayed open later though. Comfy beds & appealing furnishings. Got a room with a view and loved looking out at night. The snacks are a bit pricey though so we didn't touch them. Will definitely stay next visit to Vegas.

Rooms are fantastic. The Executive King Suite was delightful with two temp controls. Loved the blackout screens. The room was perfect with the desk in between the living area and the bedroom. Would have liked a refrigerator in our room, however, they are $25 per day. Great location, exceptional décor and good food.

Room Tip: Clean vent over commode :)

If you can stand the heat, nice to walk and take in the scenery. Perfect place to go on vacation if you're in the mood for gambling and fun, also many attractions available where your children can participate.

We visit Las Vegas two or three times a year. We always stay at the Grand. It's our hotel and we love it. Lots of games, dining, shopping, and more. Great rooms and great staff. You won't be disappointed. The rooms and the hotel are clean. The restaurants are first class.

My fiancée and I stayed here for 5 days at the end of June\beginning of July travelling from London. It was our first time in Vegas and at the MGM Grand, and we will definitely be back! Our room (a Grand King in the Grand Tower) was perfect and better than we expected. It was easily accessed from the elevators near the lobby and had lots of space, a sofa, and view of the Nevada mountains in the distance. One word of warning - be careful about taking items out of the mini bar, even just to look at, as there is a sensor system that registers everything that has been removed!

The hotel/casino has something for everyone and it feels less like a shopping mall than some of the others that we visited. It is very well located - it has a walkway across to New York New York and is on the mono rail which takes 10 mins to take you right to the centre of the strip. All staff, from cleaning personnel to pool attendants, were friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and effortless for us - although we did notice long queues at reception depending on the time of day. The self-service check out was a breeze and saved us so much time.

Many of the negative reviews on here seem to be by people who were genuinely unlucky, overly picky, or simply did not do their research. Why go to the MGM, the second largest hotel in the world, and then complain about size and how busy it is?

For us, the best feature of MGM was definitely the pool complex and, in particular, the lazy river. Due to the time zone difference we were up early every morning and had the option of using the cardio room (when it is nice and quiet in the morning) and then heading out to the pool for about 7am when it was already 30° + out. There was always plenty of room and loads of sun beds around the pools. It starts to get busy when the bars open at 10am which is also when the lazy river opens. Waitresses come around taking drink orders and there is music all day which creates a party atmosphere. When Wet Republic is on the music from there piped throughout the pool area which we really enjoyed (although house music may not be everyone's taste) and we got to hear a live Steve Aoki set for free.

Overall, great hotel/experience and we can't wait to go back :-) We will definitely be staying at the MGM Grand on our return to Vegas.

MGM Grand has become my go-to hotel when I don't bring the family (otherwise we'll stay at their sister resort, The Signature). I used to stay in a more central location on the strip (Caesar's, Venetian, Bellagio) but have found that the MGM has excellent customer service and is a good value, especially if you register and use M Life. I prefer the renovated Executive king rooms because they are very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The dining options are extensive and you can find something to do here whether or not you gamble. In a city with so many hotel options, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you decide to stay here. Only downside is there is no mall nearby if you like shopping, but that's easily solved with a short cab ride away.

Room Tip: Be sure to stay in renovated section only
