“Good Quality Las Vegas Hotel”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

A good hotel in a great location to base yourself for the Las Vegas strip. Next to New York New York and opposite the MGM Grand. This is a good quality hotel with 32 floors and on the ground floor is a huge Casino. It has a few shops, again on the ground floor as well as a large pub/bar with a large number of tv's which play sport.
This hotel has great access to the Aria as well as the Bellagio via a tram link.
The rooms were large and well maintained but the bathrooms were a little dated and the shower was not great.
It has a number of restaurants and a food court, which were all conveniently located on the ground floor. We dined in the Steak Restaurant - Brand and the French Restaurant - Andre's and both were outstanding, in terms of the food and choice as well as the service.
A really good value hotel, with a great range of restaurants and fantastically located.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor

Green Features: It was not noticeable to me other than the reusing of the towels

Dear Allblack66,

With our convenient location near several sister properties, and popular restaurants like Andre’s and Brand Steakhouse, Monte Carlo continues to set the bar for elegance and affordability along the Las Vegas Strip. We’re delighted to know that your stay proved highly enjoyable, and hope you’ll continue to include us in any future travel plans to Sin City.

Sincerely,

Lori P.

My wife and i traveled from Ireland to spend a week here from 13th to 20th March 2014.Location, and the layout, of the hotel is perfect. .There is a food court in the hotel which caters to most tastes. The staff were excellent, and I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Had a room on the 22nd floor which had a view of part of the strip.

The Monte Carlo is well situated and the rooms are nice. We were not impressed with the buffet that we were supposed to get free with our rooms (we did not get it free for some reason). I mentioned it to the person at check out and they were very defensive, I did not talk to a manager as I had little time to do so; and I felt that the desk clerk should have been able solve it without any hassle. If you decide to stay at the Monte Carlo and book on line, make sure all of the promised amenities are listed when you get your confirmation.

When my sister and I arrived at the Monte Carlo Resort we were greeted by the valet attendant who offered his services or the self park service. We told him we would like to self park and he was very helpful with giving us specific directions to the parking garage and how to reach the main lobby from the garage. We found parking fairly quickly and the main lobby very easily, the valet attendant explained it perfectly. My sister and I waited in line to check-in for just a few minutes. When it was our turn the front desk agent was very friendly! He greeted and welcomed us to the Monte Carlo. He asked us where we were from and when I told him I went to school in Washington he assumed I was a Husky...(the only bad thing about my stay ;) GO COUGS!!). He offered us two rooms but gave us his preference on the two, explaining that one had a better view. After he checked us in he told us where to find the elevator and wished us a fun and enjoyable stay.

This hotel is a little dated, but still satisfactory. The room was clean, spacious and the bed comfortable. The 3 pools (including a wave pool) were excellent, they even have a beach volleyball court. A direct access to a free tram (with stops at Crystals and Bellagio) is available.
When comparing, it was a well priced option with very good location.

There is room for improvement: check-in was very long and the bathroom was old and dated. The hotel offers free wired internet in the room, but they really need to modernize and offer wi-fi in the room (currently wi-fi is only available in the lobby).

If you are visiting from another country, be mindful of the automated currency conversion. Once I got home I realized that the hotel had converted and charged my bill in my home currency without advising me. They also charged a 3% fee for this “service”. At first I was unable to get help through their phone line, however after voicing my issue through tripadvisor, the hotel's management got in touch with me and promptly corrected the issue.

Overall, this hotel did the trick. When compared to other hotels on the strip, it was well priced, very adequate and good value.

Room Tip: Don’t pay extra for a view of the strip; it’s not a good view. Rather, get a view of the pool.

We stayed here for a one night quick trip to Vegas to meet up with friends who were also staying here. We probably wouldn't have picked this otherwise, but we very much enjoyed our stay here. Friendly staff, clean rooms, no complaints!

Stayed here for 5 nights March 2014, we booked strip view and got it. Absolutely fantastic. It is set back from the strip slightly, so got strip view of Hard Rock Cafe, which is about the best you will get, but well worth it. Lovely to see sun set over the mountains and sun rise. Room 220 on the 30th floor. There is a food court inside the hotel which was really convenient. Didn't gamble too much so couldn't comment on the facilities, look like fun though. Would definately recommend the Blue Man show, really fun and entertaining. We saw Celine Dion as well fantastic. Hotel is central to all the hotel along the strip and there is a tram from the hotel to the Bellagio to see the fountains etc. This was my second time to Vegas and we stayed at Caesars last time and the Monte Carlo beat it by a long way. A much better located hotel for all the sights, friendly staff and a shop for snacks etc. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 220 on 30th Floor, 2 x queen beds with beautiful view
