“Comfortable place to stay”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

An attractive hotel in a decent location at a decent price. The accessibility to the tram to the Bellagio was a bonus during the hot weather. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed in the quality and selection of food provided in the Buffet. Other than that, a great place to stay.

Dear Rick W,

While we're concerned that your dining experience at The Buffet proved disappointing, and will share your remarks with their staff, we are thrilled to know the remainder of your visit was enjoyable. Serving you was our absolute pleasure, one we hope you'll permit us again in the future!

Sincerely,

We booked the Diamond suite in May 2014 for a July 2014 stay for our anniversary. We booked a smoking room with early check-in due to our flight arriving at 8 a.m.

We arrived at roughly 9 a.m. and were told there by Maria there were no smoking rooms available and the room assigned to us wasn't ready. We asked how there could no smoking rooms available at 9 a.m. if no rooms were ready. She said it was first come first serve and again we asked how there could be none if we arrive at 9 a.m. and she said they assign rooms the day of check in and our assigned room was non-smoking, We asked for a supervisor to get our deposit returned and we would go elsewhere. She went to get a supervisor, came back with no supervisor and said they were going to send an ashtray up to the room when it was ready. We called for an ashtray upon finally getting to the room and one was never brought up, so my husband got one out of the casino later in the evening.

We had paid $20 extra for early check-in. After returning to the front desk twice between 11 and 3, and asking for a supervisor each time and given a "comp" instead of a supervisor, we finally got our "early check-in" at 5:25 p.m. by text message. On our first trip back to the desk we were given a coupon for "free drinks" which turned out to be one free drink and could only be used at the pool, which we never planned on using and never went out to, so they made out on that one since the coupon was never used. Even if we wanted to use the pool, the bellman had our luggage and we had no where to change! On our third trip to the desk for the day, for all of this aggrevation we were given a $50 credit to our room folio for "lunch" at 2:30 in the afternoon and they would put a "rush" on our room. The rush should have been put on the room as soon as the party in it checked out, not at 2:30 in the afternoon!! Check out is 11 a.m. I am now going to have to call them to get the money we paid for early check-in refunded. It didn't show up on the folio on the tv when we checked out but was on the email copy they sent after we checked out. We used the $50 comp for dinner that evening since we had been up since 4 a.m. central time and we just wanted to eat and go to bed. The "comp" didn't even cover the cost of the buffet which had terrible food.

Upon entering the room, the first thing we noticed was the dirty carpet. We looked around and found the wallpaper falling off the walls in the bathroom and figured oh well, it's an older hotel. The next morning I got in the shower to find mold growing all over the stall. Needless to say, that is a total turn off and I made sure no part of my body came in contact with any surface except the floor which was thankfully not tile, but a prefab floor and had no mold on it that you coud see. There were other things we noticed about the room but these were the two major turn offs about this supposed "Diamond Suite".

Our view was of the parking lot and valet area and the parking garage of the New York New York. This was supposedly a view of the mountains. Paying for a suite and getting such an aweful view blows my mind. You would think the suites would have the best views, but not at the Monte Carlo! Don't believe their website giving descriptions of the views you will get.

For the price we paid for the "Diamond Suite" and the hassles we went through it turned our anniversary into a trip we won't forget, but not for good reasons. The "Diamond" was no "Diamond". Needless to say, we won't be staying at the Monte Carlo on our next trip to Las Vegas!

Room Tip: Stay away from 18-001! Mold all over the shower!

Green Features: They say hang up towels and they won't be taken and replaced, leave on floor and they will. We hung them and they were still taken and one day, not even replaced.

At our stay in vegas we stayed two nights a The Wynn and two nights at The Monte Carlo so we could experience both ends of the strip. We arrived at the Monte Carlo and were immediately greeted by the bell man who asked if we would like our bags sent up to the room. We said yes so he gave us a ticket and told us to call when we were ready to have them sent up. Perfect.
Check in was fairly quick and the man serving us very polite. I asked about wifi and he told me to out my name in with the room number. Great.
When we arrived at our room it was a bit disappointing. The room was dated with marks on the furniture. Old carpet, curtains and a dated bathroom. When we tried to connect to wifi no network would come up. The taps in the bathroom on the bath were very stiff and hard to work.
My friend and I then decided to hang out by the pool. She was sorting out the safe so I decided to met her downstairs. After about twenty minutes of waiting I went back to the room. My friend stated that she had a bit of trouble with the safe and had to call someone. And since she was waiting to have help from someone with the safe she called to have the bags sent up. About 15 minutes later we were getting fed up. I the phoned and they said that the bags would be right up.
When the runner came with the bags I asked him about wifi. He politely informed me that there was only wifi on the first two floors. Everywhere in Las Vegas has wifi and free wifi so I don't understand why this hotel is so behind that you don't have wifi in the rooms.

The beds are very comfy at this hotel and we did have two great nights sleeps. But to be honest if I had the chance to book a hotel again....I wouldn't have booked the Monte Carlo. You can get a much nicer hotel for around the same price which is much nicer. For example The Bellagio or Planet Hollywood. Save your money and go somewhere else

Dear Carly H,

It's regrettable that the unsatisfactory condition of your assigned hotel room tarnished what was otherwise an enjoyable visit to Monte Carlo. We apologize for this blatant lapse in service, and will pass along your concerns so no future guests endure a similar incident.

Just stayed in a diamond suite 30-001 for our anniversary. Property was not "able" to give us any perks or special treatment even with our special occasion but we still were pleased with the room. We had friends in town for a conference staying here so we chose to stay as well and loved having the wet bar and separate bedroom/powder room. A little dated but great layout. We would book this room again......AND you can walk to your room after an evening at ANDRE'S!!!!

Me, my husband and daughter, who turned 21 while we were here, stayed june 25-july 3. other friends also stayed, there was about 9 of us. We had a great time! Checking in was good. we did the $50 trick, slip the girl money while checking in to get up grades. (it worked last year at the MGM) she gave us crap. her name was catherine if you get her, never said thanks, no upgrades nothing. I finally asked for a top floor, which she gave us floor 29 facing the parkinglot out back, facing in and out burger. at first i thought Ugghh, but at night this view is AWESOME!! the view of the lights at night is great, during the day the mountains are great too!! to the left you can see the luxor light and the new york roller coster. quiet floor close to elevators. good choice. we had a regular room with 2 queen beds. plenty enough room for the 3 of us. room was clean and cleaned every day. Shower was awesome! (arias showers suck) all hotel staff was very nice to us. they helped us book our trip for the 9 of us to the grand canyon one day. No wi-fi but we knew that. plug your laptop into the Ecable and your good to go. Food court was good and convienient. Pool area is smaller than other hotels but good for us. we swam every morning and a few afternoons. always room and clean too. Brand steak house is always good and we did the Minus 5 bar too, so much fun! plenty of stores and easy walking to the tram. 800 degrees pizza was awesome! The Pub has good food too! Get the little boy blue burger! we watched the USA soccer twice here, so much fun! I was a little scared before i went because i was reading all these other reviews before i went. but i was so glad i picked this hotel, really! I would Definetly stay here again! Its not perfect, it could use a little upgrading, but overall Excellent choice for all of us!

Room Tip: higher floors will def give you a good view, no matter what side of hotel your on. no wi-fi that far...

We go to Vegas at least twice a year. Stayed mostly at Excaliber or Harrah's. Booked becuz of the location and the Lazy River. As an Mlife member, we were upgraded to a high floor which faced City Center. View at night as awesome! The rooms were a little dated but that wasn't mucn of an issue. The beds are comfy & the house keeping service as great. The food court was an added plus more becuz most of them were open 24 hrs. We drive in from the Bay Area & after 9 hrs or so on the road, it's nice to relax in the lazy river. Plan to come back early next year. Becuz of the great location you can walk almost anywhere. If u don't plan to walk, use the tram to go north to Aria/Bellagio or south via New York New York/Excaliber and the tram to Mandalay Bay. We were there from June 29 to July 4, 2014.

Room Tip: If u are an Mlife member & the book a regular room, ask if u can be upgrade to a high floor with...

Stayed at the Monte Carlo for 8 days, from 6/25-7/2.There was a group of 8 of us staying here and we all thought that the hotel and staff were awesome!! The rooms were all very clean and the pool was great. Our group was in Vegas to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday and my wife and I renewed our vows for our 25th anniversary. The only disappointing thing that I can say is that after we renewed our vows 13 of us (some of our friends stayed at other hotels) went to the Pub restaurant to eat and they would not let us have our wedding cake as dessert.I thought with the $670.00 that we spent in there we should have been allowed.Other than that everything else was great, they did not even charge my dad for the refrigerator in his room that he needed for his insulin. My family and I would stay here again definitely, and recommend this hotel to everyone!!!

Room Tip: get a higher up room, from floor 23 up
