Worst buffet I have had.I went for brunch and the pancakes were hard, the eggs were cold. There was a small selection to choose from. No bowl for cereal (the only thing there that I would want to eat)

Stayed in a regular room, not a suite and it seemed fine, nothing fancy but we do not spend much time in our room when in Vegas.
**THIS REVIEW IS TO COMPARE THE POOL WITH MANDALAY BAY POOL**
If you are considering this hotel and Mandalay Bay, I would recommend this one. The first and most important reason is because the sheer mass of people at Mandalay. It is miserably crowded in the mid summer which I hear is their slow season. When I went in July, by 9:00 there are no chairs. I shudder to think how crowded it is in the spring or fall. The upside is the lazy river, it is very swift and fun. It was crowded enough that you will be bumping into strangers, but still manageable. If it were any more crowded, I don't think it would be fun. The pool is great but there are lifeguards every 15 feet or so "blowing the whistle" on people breaking their many rules. If you're bringing young kids check out the height requirement, it is pretty tall and my 4 y.o. was not allowed in, even when with me. Went to the Monte Carlo mid summer and it was much less crowded. Big bonus: The staff goes around and removes towels when people are in the pool, so there are chairs available throughout the day. Mandalay does not do this, and I do not have the nerve to remove someone's towel. The lazy river is very slow and I thought boring. The saving grace is the pool. It is smaller but somehow much more fun. Every so often (maybe 20 mins) they put waves in and you can just rock around inside. I am not a strong swimmer and it is still fun. They had an awesome d.j. that come on in the afternoon on a Friday. Not sure how often he is there.

I was travelling for business earlier this month and wasn't overly thrilled with the Monte Carlo. Our first room was on the 4th floor, clearly over some kind of delivery entrance that dumped garbage until 1am and it also faced the new construction of the arena - to which they started jack-hammering at 6am!

There were a ton of kids (I get it, it's a cheap vacay for families to sit by the pool), and they were all awake and crying before 6am. I have kids, I get it, but try to keep them a bit quieter until people have to get up!!

The third night, we were moved to the 22nd floor which was quieter from outside noise by far!

Personally, I think they should have "family floors".

The food court made it easier to eat on a budget.

The staff were great.

Would love to see the pool open a bit later since it's still hot enough to swim after 7pm - and I agree with the other reviews about the lazy river being jammed up with kids swimming around and plugging it up.

The room wasn't overly clean. The toilet seat was dirty and yes, the carpets are stained. The room locks were difficult and when we went to ask housekeeping for help, she was sitting on the bed in a room being cleaned, watching the TV! (she was nice and helpful though!)

The hotel is showing it's age. There should be WiFi in the rooms.

We won't likely stay here again since there are other hotels in the same price range that are better value. I only stayed due to the convention I was attending. The draw is the pool.

Room Tip: ask for a room on a high floor

Overall good experience. I would definitely stay here again. Great pool area and friendly staff. There was a beautiful view from the room. The location is central on the strip. Nice casino. I did not encourage a single problem and only have good memories from my experiences here.

Actually stayed in june 2013. No problems at check-in. Very polite and helpful. Even used the concierge this time and they were great too. Room was very clean. Pool was wonderful. Whole casino was very clean. Food options at this property where pretty good too. The blue man group parade thing they have is cool too. The bday girls had a blast. Wish the Monte Carlo was a bit closer to the center of the strip but it's not too bad. Was very pleased with it all. No complaints from this group. :) bought as a package through southwest for room and air together. Great price. :)

Room Tip: Find the monorail that takes you too the bellagio. It will save you some walking when it's blaz...

This hotel has everything you could need for a fabulous fun holiday at a reasonable price. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are polite and friendly, the pool area (although very busy at times) is ideal because it gives large areas of shade as well as plenty of sunbeds in the sun and the pools are great, especially the Lazy River and Wave Pool with weekend DJ. The indoor food court just a stone's throw from the pool area is fantastic because it has a wide range of places to buy food at high street prices and includes McDonald's, Subway, Costa Coffee, Sbarro fresh pizza place as well as Mexican and Chinese food outlets. This saves you a lot of money and also saves a lot of time because it is literally just inside the hotel's doors leading from the pool area so no need to have to venture onto The Strip if it's just a snack you're after. The hotel also has a good selection of restaurants including a buffet which is adequate and serves brunch and evening dinner daily although we were disappointed that it did not offer a champagne brunch at the weekend as many other Strip hotels do. The hotel is very convenient when arriving by taxi because the doors at the back lead straight to reception then the lifts to the bedrooms are so close to reception avoiding the need to trawl all the luggage through the casino. There were long queues at check-in when we arrived but additional staff were on hand to assist and were giving out bottles of water to people waiting in the queue. The casino area is good as are the shopping areas and the free tram linking the hotel to the Bellagio which saves a lot of time when you want to explore other areas of The Strip. The front of the hotel with its newly paved area now looks great and it's good to be able to sit out and listen to the occasional singers that entertain there. The location mid-Strip could not be better as you are within minutes of walking to the Miracle Mile Shops as well as very close to the famous "must visits" such as the Harley Davidson Café, Hard Rock Café and the M & M store. My grown-up family and I have stayed at various different hotels in Las Vegas including Rio, Ti and the Mirage and, although some may be a little more luxurious, the Monte Carlo is definitely the fun place to be. There is a bus stop served by the Deuce buses ($8 for a 24 hour pass) just outside the hotel and if you want to take an express Deuce bus to Las Vegas Premium Shopping Outlet you will need to turn right out of the Monte Carlo's main doors, walk past the New York, New York Hotel and wait at the bus stop outside the Excalibur Hotel. If you want to catch an express Deuce bus to Fremont Street and Downtown Vegas, cross the road from the Monte Carlo and turn right to wait at the bus stop outside the MGM Hotel. The Blue Man parade through the casino is worth seeing at 6.15pm each day and another attraction at the Monte Carlo is the Minus Five Ice Bar. We were surprised that the flooring inside the bar is not made of ice so it’s not slippery nor too cold so trainers were adequate without the need to borrow the furry boots offered but it’s a lot of fun dressing in furs, sipping cocktails such as “The Snowflake” and “The Snowman” from glasses made entirely from ice and great to admire the different ice sculptures and sit on the ice benches where customers are saved from becoming wet by animal skins that are placed on the seating areas. A good contrast when July temperatures outside were in the 40s. If you're wanting a good all-round fun holiday with everything on your doorstep then I recommend this hotel for all age groups. If you're wanting to go to the well-worth visiting Fremont Street Experience catch an Express Deuce bus outside the MGM Hotel as the ordinary Deuce buses from the stop opposite the Monte Carlo can take an hour at busy times even though it's probably only about 3 miles! When you catch a return Express Deuce bus from Fremont Street it goes from the road at the side of Binnion's Casino but it only operates up to midnight – after that you’ll be travelling on the ordinary Deuce buses which operate 24 hours a day.
