“GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

I was a bit worried about staying here by reading some of the reviews but, we LOVED it!
Great value, nicely decorated and remodeled rooms and our room was SPOTLESS! Staff was pleasant and the pool was alot of fun. I would stay here again and again. Great value, I was very impressed!
Yes you can stay at fancier places if you want to spend more money on a place to sleep rather then spending it on Vegas fun but The Trop was perfect for us and I am pretty picky.
Thank you Tropicana for a great time!

Stayed a week at the Tropicana the last week in June 14 and despite the queues on arrival the hotel was of a good standard.
Before going and reading reviews on how bad some people said that the décor was, I was worrying that I booked the wrong place,
How wrong I was to worry and what do people want for what they pay beggars belief.
Loved the pool area and staff were very helpful as when I arrived I was given a smoking room instead of non-smoking and I can tell you that as someone who has no problem with smokers the place stank.
I did request a move and was moved the next morning without any fuss so well done to reception staff on this.
The only thing I had to complain about was check in, 2 staff who were walking off every 5 mins and were in no hurry to get back so please GET MORE STAFF AT CHECK IN TIMES.

All in all a great hotel in a good location on the strip.

Room Tip: Be prepared to have a long wait checking in

First time visit to Vegas and stayed at the Tropicana for 4 nights. A little worried maybe after reading some of the previous reviews but these were totally unfounded. On arrival we were upgraded to a lovely room in the Paradise Tower, overlooking the Strip (MGM Grand directly opposite) on the 11th floor. This was so handy for reception etc and the noise from the Strip was minimal !
Hotel clean, staff we came into contact with friendly - breakfast in the Beach Cafe lovely. Would definitely stay again.

Usually had excellent stays with the Hilton, but this particular stay was unpleasant. Prior to making reservations informed the hotel that I was arriving in town early and if I could check in earlier was told they would note this on the account. Arrived early that morning and they would not even address the issue was told check in was 3p. So I waited in the hotel lobby until 1p and went to my conference and after the conference I proceeded to check out and the lie was out the door. Waited on one hour to finally get checked in, then in the hallway of the floor I was staying the carpet had a foul mildew odor and there were blowers at each end of the hallway which I had to deal with for two days. I was a bit disappointed in my stay

The Tropicana has been redone and is now a Doubletree hotel. The registration desk is at the front of the casino, but even though the rooms are non-smoking, smoking is allowed in the casino, so the lobby and the hallways headed for the rooms all have the smoke odor. Fair warning should be given that is you do the self-parking, it is a long stroll to the front of the hotel, and if you combine that with the walk to the club tower rooms, you'd better bring your track shoes. That said, the staff and room were both very pleasant, but many of the things in the hotel are very overpriced. There is likely better value to be had elsewhere on the strip, but we did sleep very comfortably and the room was very clean. There is no coffee maker in the room, they prefer you walk downstairs and buy a cup at one of the Starbucks stands. A good night's stay overall...

One of the smaller casino hotels but none the worse for that. Less choices restaurant-wise on site but LV isn't short of dining options.
The rooms are really nicely decorated since the remodeling, bathrooms could do with a bit more spending on them.
Access is great being small you don't have to waslk miles to get to the elevators, go for the paradise tower.
Probably the best feature is the friendliness of the staff, it is very noticeable that they really are making an effort in that regard. The decor of the front desk and Casino is clean bright and modern and looks great.
The only major criticism I can make is the state of the gym/fitness room. I don't think the treadmills have ever been cleaned. The screens are covered in grime and the upper parts little better. Really quite revolting. The gym is run by a private company who run the spa too but whilst that is an excuse it is not a very good one. But for this and the bathrooms I would have given an excellent rating.

Room Tip: Paradise tower, high floor looking west across the strip.

I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights for EDC Las Vegas. I got the hotel through blind bidding on priceline and was hesitant at first when I won the bid. However, when I arrived to the Tropicana I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby was nice and checkin took 20 minutes. We were able to checkin an hour earlier than expected and got a room facing the strip and pool on the second floor. The room was spacious and good if you're looking for something comfortable and clean. Overall, I had a nice stay and would stay again if I got another good deal.
