Stayed one night here and must admit felt over dressed with long pants on. Hotel rooms very spacious and well furnished, most comfortable. Price was right for family with three rooms. Very quiet and everyone we encountered at the desk very helpful.

We paid $80 a night, decent value, the room was very nice, had a view of pool and river. The pool looked a little small, but I dont think any pool in laughlin is that big or great. Their pool did overlook the river, it was too cold while we were there so didnt get to use it. Pretty decent size jacuzzi. As far as restaurants, harlows probably best option, we tried to eat at steakhouse but no reservations were allowed and 40 min wait when we got there so skipped that. I really liked the casino, not very big but not very busy. We went to harrahs one night which had bigger casino but it was super packed! The pioneer is steps away from the nugget, we walked over there twice. The pioneer is pretty dumpy, but we went there for cheap breakfast and to play slots a bit and had fun. Overall, i would say golden nugget in top 2 (if not #1) places to stay in laughlin.

When checking in at the Golden Nugget, my traveling buddy was fortunate enough to get a room in the east wing while my room was in the west structure. After comparing the two, I contacted the front desk and asked to be move and my request was honored.

I want to be clear; rooms in both wings are fully acceptable. It’s just that the East facilities are so much nicer that, given a choice, you should opt for the East. Both have firm yet comfortable beds in a clean, good-sized room. Both had windows that full opened and well-maintained bathrooms with all amenities. What you get in the East wing is newer décor, thermostatically controlled heating and cooling and a wall mounted flat screen TV. The hallways, landings and elevators are in better shape in the East, and the room furnishings seem of high quality. But again, both wings suited my needs for a reasonably-priced room in Laughlin.
On to the other aspects of the Golden Nugget: The thtree restaurants we visited, (Saltgrass, Harlow’s and Joe’s Crab Shack) offered good food at fair prices. The staff we interacted with was friendly and responsive to our needs.

The pool/spa area was nice but the pool water temp was COLD; nice for July afternoons but prohibitive for cool October evenings.

Wireless internet access was $9.99/day for extremely slow (128/256) service…come on GN, join the 21st century already!!

The hotel location is conductive to exploration by foot of the half dozen or so neighboring hotel/casinos, even in 80-90 degree weather.

The casino side of the GN, I would rate as so-so, with only a few live action tables and those had a rather high $10 minimum bet (BJ) for a Thursday night in mid October.

All-in-all, 3 stars for the Golden Nugget Laughlin and add an extra ½ star if you land in the East wing!

Room Tip: East wing is the best!

We were visiting Lake Havasu City and decided a night in Laughlin was in order. Looked online and all hotels looked OK and chose the Golden Nuggett. Upon arrival early PM we went to front desk, really easy and efficient check-in.. They had a non-smoking room with two queens on the top floor (river view) for 60 bucks a night, all in! The room was very nice, clean, in perfect order. 60 bucks, haven't spent 60 bucks on a room in years and that was for a crummy motel along an interstate! The hotel is smaller-sized by Laughlin standards, about 160 rooms. The public spaces were nice, clean and the staff was efficient. The casino was surprisingly OK, not huge but with all the games and slots we like. The steak house was busy, very good food and reasonably priced. So all in all, we we're very happy with our choice. We visited other casinos during our stay and they were also surprisingly nice for casinos. We know Laughlin is considered "bubba-land" but honestly Mrs. Vanderbilt and I really enjoyed ourselves. So we're returning sooner than later.

Room Tip: Get highest floor with river view. No balconies but windows open fully (a rarity). Rooms are quiet.

We've stayed here a number of times, and have always found it to be clean and friendly. Because it's a smaller property you don't have the impersonality of a 1000+ room mega-hotel. Last time there, they upgraded our room to a river view overlooking the pool. Although we last stayed there in August, I'm just now catching up on my reviews, but I doubt the hotel will have changed much. We've been going there for 5 yrs now and are always completely satisfied.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to the river side so you can see the boats and PWC's on the river.

We were impressed with the hospitality and cleanliness of the Laughlin Golden Nugget. We have a service dog and they accomodated us immediately. We were greeted with smiles everywhere we went. The standard room was large and the bathroom was nice and clean. What more could you ask for in an older hotel at a reasonable price. We ate most of our meals between the three on site restaurants and they were all good. We will be back.
