“Happy to sleep in a clean bed!”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

I had to fly to California to pick up my husband who had broken a rib. We were driving home in his old Ford Pickup. The top speed of the truck was 60mph. Finally about 1:00 a.m. I couldn't take it any longer and exited off the Lovelock exit in search of a nights sleep. This town is a real drag and I was just hoping for a clean bed. I got it, plus a flat screen TV, a brand new mini fridge, microwave, and in room coffee pot with enough for 2 pots. The property is old. But it has recently had the room painted, some new furnishing, clean bedding and - and this is a big one - it does not stink of cigarette, or any other funky stuff. I would definitely stay here again. The cost was a little over $50 for the night. Awesome. Oh - plus a hair dryer in the bath, and hair shampoo and soap. Nice, a lot of hotels are skipping these items - so I am always jazzed to have a hair dryer in the room.

Toilet didnt flush, no correct plug-ins for the microwave, heater blew cold air, in room coffee make didnt work and burnt my wife spewing hot steam, water and molten coffee grinds on her. I highly suggest somewhere else.

Cute little historical motel conveniently located near Hwy 80, but not so close to be noisy. In fact it is very peaceful here sitting on the porch.

Since it is a historical motel, the decor and ambience reflect that. However, it is very clean and the managers are very attentive to ensure that!!

Most importantly, the manager, Brandy, is just so amazingly friendly and helpful. Indeed it is a 5-star service for a 2-star price.

This is a hard review to write. Driving through the town of Lovelock does not give the best entry to this motel. The entire town has a worn, rather seedy appearance. That being said, The motel was inexpensively priced, accomodated dogs and the reviews were so good we decided to give a try. The carpet was worn, the bed rather old and it's over all appearance is that of being well used. However, that being said, this hotel had everything that more expensive hotels had. The shower pressure was wonderful. The wife worked well. The coffee in the room was the best motel room coffee we have had. The tv was Direct TV... again a plus. There was even a continental breakfast. In the summer we can see how it would be quite pleasant. The train did not bother us and the heater very adequately kept us comfortable. We would probably recommend it to our more adventurous travel friends.

After driving for hours from San Francisco to Denver, trying to outrun the smoke from the Lake Tahoe area fire, we rolled up to the Lovelock Inn at 2:30 am--and couldn't have found a better resting place. This place is just charming--especially the old casement windows. White painted brick walls, knotty pine paneled ceiling, comfy beds and yes, an older brown carpet, but clean and totally in-keeping with the overall aesthetic. Our room was small, but came complete with a fridge/freezer and was laid out in such a way that it felt cozy, but roomy enough. This place is a survivor from the time when they really knew how to design motels that were a balm to the weary traveler. And the staff was incredibly sweet! I just hope they don't ever feel the need to "improve" it with a soulless update, like almost everything else one encounters on the road. My only issue was that the light outside the room was so bright that I considered unscrewing the bulb, as too much light was bleeding into the room. I guess I was so tired that it didn't matter...

It was alright, the management gave us a good price for the room. We came in very late at night! Room was clean but carpet was outdated and worn. The beds were comfortable! The wifi doesn't work well if you room is to the back of the motel. I had to go to the lobby to make a connection!

Trip Advisor again was so right,,,This is a great place. Loved the people, price, peace of mind.
After reading about other places here we knew this is the place to go. It is a ways down from the other motels but after 3000 miles on the Harley what is another half mile. It gave us a great shower and air conditioning. The manager is a Harley guy and very helpful.. Internet and many choices on tv to help pass time. Cozy room sort of brought us back home.
