“Reno stinks of smoke, the Siena Hotel included”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

An estimated 42.1 million people, or 18.1% of all adults (aged 18 years or older), in the United States smoke cigarettes. The Siena Hotel allows smoking in the Casino area, and thereby allows the smoking minority to annoy the non-smoking majority. I tried a couple of times to enjoy the Lounge, the Slots, and the 21-Tables, but had to leave in order to get my breath back. The Silvery Legacy is even much worse, I wanted to try the Pearl Restaurant but couldn't take the smog. Too bad Reno Casino management lacks the courage to end smoking, I'll bet that's why the whole town is slowing down. The National Auto Museum across the street is sunning in the quality of its Collection.

Room Tip: Lower floors on the River side have a good view of the air conditioning equipment on top of the rest...

We take all of our reviews seriously and I appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your recent experience at the Siena. Although we have high ceilings in the casino and do not allow smoking in many areas of the property we do allow smoking in the casino. We are continuously looking at ways to minimize the smoke and as you recognized it is much less prevalent at the Siena than many of our competitors.

We made the 8 hour trip and saw the Siena lights on from our room.We went to breakfast at the Whitewater restaurant the next morning. Lisa our server was fantastic. Jasmine at the Siena rewards was excellent. Jillian at registration was Excellent. We moved over to the Siena immediately. Our river front room was Beautiful!
The valet, doorman & Housekeeping were the best ever! Johnny Rockets was a blast, Scott & the rest of the staff were excellent, entertaining and the food was Great!
The renovations are Beautiful! Customer service out of this world!
We will highly recommend the Siena Hotel Spa & Casino to all our friends & family.
Family reunions are perfect here! Walking is so easy to see the sights.
But the Truckee river is to die for! So Beautiful!!
Thank You Siena For the Highlight of Our Trip!

Room Tip: Rooms with a river view. BEAUTIFUL!

Passing through Reno, we stayed at the Siena Hotel for one night. It is a smaller property compared to other Reno casinos, which we kind of liked.

The rooms were nice. Ours was nicely furnished and quite clean.

I really liked the location - right next to the automobile museum and on the river.

The whitewater restaurant was quite good for breakfast (and a very good deal). The views were quite nice overlooking the river. They also had outdoor seating at the bar which was nice.

The Gym was a bit small, but adequate. During our visit, the hot tub was closed - but I think this is a temporary situation.

The Casino was small, but all of the staff was very friendly and we enjoyed a less crowded atmosphere.

If you are looking for a big casino experience, this is probably not the place. If you're looking for something a bit smaller with a more personal touch, you will probably enjoy this hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent enjoyable stay. We're very proud of our "boutique" style property which allows us to be more personable and friendly with our guest. The uniqueness of our location next to the Truckee river offers our guest the opportunity to enjoy a very nice view from the restaurants, bar, gym, pool, and many of our rooms. We hope to see you back at the Siena the next time you visit Reno.

Not all what we expected. The hotel is old but looks new on the outside. The rooms are small and cheaply furnished. We asked for a view of the river on our reservation. However when we arrived the desk clerk seemed obvious to our previous request. She said they had no rooms left with a view. Our room did have a river view but was on the third floor so it was a bit obstructed by the view of the roof. The restaurant was OK and although the casino was really small it was clean and not smokey at all.

It's disappointing to hear we were unable to accomodate your request for a higher floor with a river view. However, we do appreciate you taking the time to write us as we take all our feedback seriously. Your business is important to us and we hope you give us another chance to accomodate your preferences the next time you visit Reno.

A smaller facility. Not a mega hotel resort and that is a good thing. The small lounge had a singer on the nights that I was there. Many locals come here and for good reason. Service is genuinely friendly. Food is very good; presentation was appetizing and the meals good sized for the price. I would consider this property a good value. Location along the river is cool.

Check-in took little time. Desk person asked me my preferences and made an effort to get me into a room that I would appreciate. Facility could use some updating but it was clean throughout, including the dining room. Towels were not especially thick & fluffy. (I really appreciate higher end towels). Bedding was adequate and the room clean on the surface.

I would stay here again without doubt.

Room Tip: Ask the front desk for the amenities you find desirable. Higher floors do seem to be quieter.

Thank you for taking the time to write a great review. We are very proud of our smaller facility which enables us to offer genuinely friendly service one guest at a time. It's nice to hear you enjoyed our food offering and also enjoyed our downtown location next to the river. We hope to see again the next time your travel plans bring you to Reno.

If you're coming to gamble, then the Siena may not be top on your list. It's a smaller, slightly more elegant facility with a great location right on the Truckee River. It's a nice facility for the most part, but it does have some rough spots. My queen bed room was adequate but small, with a nicely appointed bathroom. The views from the 2nd floor, however, are not of the beautiful river but the roof of the restaurant (yuck!). The lobby is acceptable and although I didn't enter it, the casino looks quaint if a bit smallish. Parking is plentiful and close by and if you like to walk, you're right downtown and have the river right there to stroll along. Beautiful!

Room Tip: Stay on the higher floors to get the river view

It's nice you took the time to tell us about your recent stay at the Siena. Although the casino may be smaller in size than others in the area no one offers their customers more lucrative incentives to either play or sign up for a Players Card. We believe our size is one of our strenghts as it is convenient to park, dine, check in to the hotel, gamble, or go to the Spa. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed our location next to the Truckee River and the convenience of walking around in the downtown area. We appreciate your business and hope to see you again soon.

I had made a grave error in my booking and Crystal, a hotel manager, went out of her way to smooth out the situation. I really appreciate it and will go back to the Siena because of the excellent customer service Crystal provided.
