This is a real gem in the Reno community! There are excellent temporary exhibits. Docents provide great tours and background on permanent and temporary exhibits.
Lots of great art classes for both adults and children. Great cafe with delicious, creative food combinations. Be sure to check out the roof top for great views of the Reno/Sparks area!

Loved all the nice things there. Great to take the kids, lots to see and admire. I'll visit this place again next time I go to Reno, it was well worth it. Admission is decently priced too.

I can't rave enough about this gem. Don't miss it. The exhibits are wonderfully curated. The Architectural Modern Maverick show is stunning. I took a docent tour (9/22 1:00PM), and enjoyed it immensely. Can't believe I've forgotten her name, but she was GREAT.
The spaces is excellent, including the roof. They commissioned a sculpture to go with the Architecture show - it's hanging in the entry stairway - a model of the Transamerica building. Hope it stays in their permanent collection.
GO!! Parking is free in the lot or nearby side streets. Allow several hours if you can, or more - have lunch in the cafe, which I wasn't able to do this time - but I'll be back!

There are some really good sculptures outside the building, a couple from Burning Man. However, the inside was a disappointment. Exhibit on van Gogh ended up with one van Gogh self-portrait and books on a table supposedly to help you learn how to tell fakes. The permament collection was also a disappointment with very few Nevada artists - especially Nevada Native Americans - represented. Although it is great Reno finally has an art museum, hopefully they will improve exhibits as another ten years goes on.

Nothing special about it. A visitor from India would have seen much better paintings. If you wonder what else to do in Reno, a place to spend an hour.
