The downtown Reno River Walk is a unique place to experience where nature is showcased in an urban environment. There is a mix of urban housing, small business and nature, a great place to exercise while taking in the beauty and serenity of nature, it's advisable to enjoy this experience between 10am to 3pm-(homeless people do camp out along the river walk).

The walk along this unusual and unique river park is really beautiful. At times, you are walking in a park like setting, and at others you are walking past nice homes and condos that are on the river. I was with a friend and her two dogs, and we all enjoyed it. We were there in late October, so the Fall colors were an added plus.

The Riverwalk area has potential but unfortunately like most of downtown Reno it falls short. It's advisable to be constantly on alert and avoid the area at night.

The Truckee River flowing through the town is inviting but there are just too many "dead" areas. Do take a walk but do it mid day and just be aware of your surroundings.

After the long us 50 drive, we settled in our motel and came here to get a good walk. The river was very active with birds, and people were walking their dogs. The adjoining neighborhood is going through a revival, with restaurants being built nearby. There were some homeless people, with evidence of camping in one spot, but as others noticed here, they were among themselves and not looking for handouts. This is a rare respite in a very noisy and frenetic town. We stayed a couple of hours, walking and sitting on one of many benches along the river.

We were there for an mid-afternoon walk and a late lunch. Nice place to people watch. We enjoyed the river and had a nice outdoor lunch. There were some homeless around but they were not intrusive.
