“Take a hike at Bartley Ranch”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

I recently discovered the many walking/hiking trails available at the ranch and spent a few hours exploring each one. After driving through a wooden one lane covered bridge to enter the ranch, parking was easy to find and plentiful on this weekday morning. The trailheads were prominent and each was marked with a post explaining distance and difficulty. They are easy to follow and offer varied terrain . The Ranch Loop trail is interesting because at various spots old ranch equipment is on display and placards are present to explain the usage of each. The Anderson trail takes you across the road to loop Anderson Park. The Flume and Quail trails are shorter but still offer lots to see with hills to climb. The trails interconnect at different spots so you can choose to complete one or continue on another. During my hike I shared the trails with other hikers, dog walkers, riders on horseback and a bear (fortunately didn't see him just the evidence he left behind)!!!

“Interesting place”
Reviewed 5 June 2013 via mobile

Personally I love this place very much, partly due to it's such a new experience to be in a ranch. Not only there's traditional tools and buildings, there's new facilities for public usage. The park itself is open for horses about 9 in the morning, I would suggest a good time is around 10 where more horses are there. Nonetheless, you can always run/jog early in the morning before you see those horses.

“Great Venue of Multiple Attractions”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

At one time, Bartley Ranch was a working ranch and it still retains a great western character. There are picnic facilities, a horse arena, and trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The Western Heritage Interpretive Center features a real-life display of small barns and other western buildings that have been rescued from other sites in the area. The old Huffaker was moved to Bartley Ranch in 1992; it was built in 1867 and is available for meetings and weddings.

The centerpiece of the property is the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater which hosts top-name entertainment throughout the years. We've seen many wonderful performances there including classical music and opera, pop, rock and folk music–– Joan Baez, Emmy Lou Harris, and the Reno Philharmonic. It's a great place to see a show.

“See some great old Nevada barns”
Reviewed 22 March 2013

This park was a working ranch for many years. The Park now houses a wonderful collection of real old barns with their history. There is an area to ride your horse and a beautiful amphitheater that is the location all summer for wonderful live programs from Jazz to Ballet, orchestras and major entertainers. Great place for a picnic!
